Doggio, I’m sure there’s a rule in here somewhere that you can’t make comments like that without supplying pictures! After all, don’t you want to keep your gaggle of adoring girlies happy?
I’ve had a busy weekend so far, yesterday I had to call in at the doc’s on the way home to ask for a repeat prescription but I can’t have one because the doc I saw three months ago gave me a prescription but didn’t mark it for repeats so I have to go back and see him again. Oh well, no big deal. After that, I got all virtuous and decided to walk home from town.
Friday night is also grocery-shopping night so we went off to endure that particular little corner of hell before celebrating a successful trip with Chinese for dinner.
Today I’ve been out doing a leaflet drop, my friend came along for the walk and we had a catch-up gossip as I’ve not really seen much of her this week either in person or via emails. Then I had to get 'im indoors up and moving after his marathon alcohol binge last night (continuing my virtuous streak, I was drinking tea). Went into town to do errands and make a start on the dreaded hexmas shopping - I’ve got most of his presents already because I could do that online, and now I’m shopping for my mother and various friends.
It was cold and rather grim outside but we decided to be brave and walk into town via the local park (click the pic for West Park). Armed with a loaf of bread and a bag of peanuts, we stopped off to feed a veritable army of geese and ducks, and some very friendly squirrels who are so used to people that they will come and take peanuts from your hands.
Tomorrow I’m off to my mother’s for the day, it’s her birthday today (she’s 75!) but it’s difficult for me to get over there on a Saturday so we agreed I’d go on Sunday instead so she can have a second day of birthday stuff. I’ve just finished wrapping her gifts, so now I’m going to have a cup of tea and then phone her because she wasn’t home when I tried earlier.
It’s 1st December on Tuesday and that’s officially Mince Pie Day at work so I guess I’d better go and make some of the little beggars to keep the girls in the office happy. I made the mincemeat last October so I think it should be mature enough by now.
It’s also “taster night” at Fat Club on Tuesday so I need to make something for that. The theme is finger food/party food - mum gave me a recipe from her Fat Club for almond and apricot cake made with chickpeas so I think I’ll have a go at that. I’m not usually impressed by Fat Club’s cake recipes but she said it was ok so I’ll give it a go. And then I have to think of something to do with a quince. Apart from make quince vodka, of course.
I’m up and waiting for the coffee to finish. I slept in today.
Poor little Gnat; he just doesn’t comprehend yet. I know it’s driving you insane, Li-Li. Hang in there.
The coffee is done. Now I can wake up.

We’re supposed to go to a friend’s house for dinner and socializing tonight. I guess it’s good to get out of the house at some point this weekend.

I got home from work around 1130. It went fine and turns out I had 2 pts, both of whom were very nice. I just feel like this day has lasted forever (it tends to do that when I work 6 hours prior to noon!).
I came home and (feeling virtuous) put up our Christmas village. I’d post pics, but I never take them. The village has grown over the years and now includes 3 separate “zones”: rural, neighborhood and Main St. I make the kids take it down. 
Too soon for the tree or anything else, but I’ve found that Xmas is a great deal easier if I decorate in stages.
I have no idea what anyone else said. I must have Alzheimer’s. I read and retain nothing.

Howdy Y’all! Work well, it was. Gotta do it tomorrow too but only from six hours. I decided 2pm - 8 pm just cause. I’s also tahred! Part of me wants to sleep all mornin’ tomorrow but I doubt it. I’ll wake up remember it’s Sunday, toy with the idea of rollin’ over and goin’ back to sleep, start to feel guilty, then get up and go to church. I don’t know why that is, but it is. Plus tomorrow is the First Sunday of Advent and I guess that’s a good reason to go to church.
Homemade beef and veggie soup for dindin. It’s so nice to have stuff like that in the freezer! All I had to do was take it out this mornin’, stick it in the fridge then nuke it before eatin’. MMMMMMMMMMM…
The coffeeshop I go to all the time makes excellent Earl Grey tea. It can be served in a proper teapot. This was the real test to see if they’re as good as theplace I patronized in Pirateville.
I love my new tea/coffeeshop and will patronize them extensively forever and ever.
They both sound like nice places, Spaz.
So, I’ve finished my first sock. It fits very nicely and, although not quite perfect, is rather pretty, if I do say so myself. The second one should be easier, since I know where I’m going now.
Tonight is clean out the living room night. I’d really like to start a bit of holiday decorating. Living room needs to be tidier for that. Envy my exciting Saturday night.

How My Day Sucked

Well, let’s see. First the earth cooled. And then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died and they turned into oil. And then the Arabs came and they bought Mercedes Benzes. And Prince Charles started wearing all of Lady Di’s clothes. I couldn’t believe it! And then I had a tooth bothering me last week but it seemed to calm down. But it calmed down because it became infected, and the infection had spread to my face. I was treating it with Dequadin (an oral paint designed to treat abscesses and cankers) but it wasn’t helping. Yesterday it was swollen, but not extremely. To add insult to injury however, I’d managed to get something in my eye and it refused to come out no matter how much Visine I dropped in there. So I went to bed with an irritated eye. This morning the left side of my face looked like Rocky after his last round with the Russian, so that pretty much locked it up: Time to visit the dentist.
Fortunately they could fit me in for an emergency session. The bad? For only $120. The good? My insurance will cover 90% of it, and the dentist will only charge me the difference instead of making me pay-and-submit. So she took a quick look, which was largely pointless as she pretty much knew what was needed here: Penicillin and Tylenol 3s. The pharmacy weren’t as nice as my dentist though, so I have to pay and submit for those. Fortunately they were only $32 for 20 pills of each so it wasn’t too painful.
So as of right now the swelling is already going down and the pain is almost all gone, so … cool. However I have to go back Thursday evening for a yanking. I am not looking forward to that.
But at least whatever was in my eye was flushed out overnight. Did I mention I still have this nasty cold? Yeah. Sucky, sucky weekend so far.
But things are improving at least, so maybe I can salvage Sunday.

I’m not trying to belittle the amount, but I would be absolutely thrilled if all I had to pay was $120.00 to visit my dentist. My dental coverage sucks and is going to get worse next year. Hence, I am unable to afford the things I need done, like three crowns. That’s more than three grand out of my pocket just for the crowns. Can’t afford them.
We’ll be leaving soon for our friend’s house. He’s making ribs on his grill. They should be tasty.
Dentists don’t come cheap – even here. That $120 was only for the emergency scheduling – what they charge if you don’t want to wait to make an appointment and need them to fit you in, like, now. In other words, they’ve got you by the short 'n curlies, and by God they’re going to yank. The actual exam and prescription charges are over and above that, plus the cost to pull on Thursday ($100/tooth) and more prescription charges after that (probably just more Tylenol 3). My insurance will cover 90% of all of that though.
Our drugs are cheaper though, I think, so there’s that. However, elective procedures like dental implants, crowns, dentures, or whatever, those don’t come even remotely cheap, and I don’t think my insurance would cover most of that, so if I ever need any of that I’m gonna pay out every orifice. (My insurance will cover maintenance things like cleanings, but that’s about it as far as elective stuff goes.)
Worked, watched the Canes collapsed again, thank God it was $9 Yuengling pithcer night.
No one took pics:(, but one of the Storm Squad girls was in my store Wednesday, and recognized me.
Puck, it was a kind of a spur of a moment thing. I was the sumo in the white jersey.

Well, I shouldn’t have any problems getting up at the buttcrack of dawn tomorrow since I’ve been up for an hour now anyway. I think my internal clock is all kerflooey!!!
I’ve got to have a “conversation” with our downstairs residents - I wish their friends had left already - it’s not going to be pleasant. Seriously, how many times should you have to ask a 20-something to clean up something that was borrowed and put it back??? And what adult leaves a floor mop on the front porch leaning against the front door? I try - I really try to treat them as adults and peers, but they keep slipping into this lazy teenager mode and I’m getting sick of it! I really shouldn’t have to keep slipping into Mommy-mode. grrrrrrrrr
On the other hand, the guests leave tomorrow, and life can get back to normal. I hope.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. I did indeed wake up, look at the clock, consider turnin’ back over, remember it’s Sunday and then Satan took hold of me and I went back to sleep! Thus, I have been up a short while and am not motivated to purtify yet so looks like no churchification today. I am a heathen!
MOOOOOOM a mop leanin’ against the front door seriously? Why haven’t you bashed them repeatedly upside their haids with the handle already? I am picturin’ you openin’ the front door and havin’ a mop handle come flyin’ at you. That would have been my cue to get all Mommy Dearest.
Up later than usual… Woke up at 7:20 or so, then fell asleep till 9:00 or so. Now I’m getting stuff organized for the day so that I can go get deheathenated and then be really really really productive the rest of the day.
Oh…do we have a volunteer to host tomorrow yet?

Back from Vegas - man we had fun!
I other good news my company may be coming up with a solution that means mr ems and I can have a bit more of a normal relationship. The job offer I am not to excited about but if it means I can work from here in CA and travel then I will at least have a happy life outside of work. We shall see
