My ballot:
The Sopranos and 30 Rock
Laurie & Sedgwick
Baldwin & Fey
O’Quinn and [no choice]
Dillon & Presley

I don’t watch Gray’s and am not familiar enough with the Soprano ladies to feel I can say a thing in the Supporting Actress category. It’s a toss-up for the two excellent Lost men, so I have to give it to O’Quinn who was robbed two years ago by Shatner. Though I love The Office, it’s a runner-up in every category next to Johnny Drama, Joy Turner, and The Girlie Show crew. And here’s hoping that Laurie can finally walk away with a well-earned kudo (though it wouldn’t surprise me if Fat Tony took one more). Go Kyra!

My choices are in red. Where it’s not red, it means I don’t care enough about the nominees to vote.

Since “Eureka” is not present, I’m boycotting. I’d sneak in a vote for Kyra Sedgwick, though. She’s wonderful.

Drama - “Heroes”
Comedy - Seriously, how is “How I Met Your Mother” not on this list? Stupid Emmy nominators
**Actor, drama ** - Ditto Michael C. Hall for “Dexter”
**Actress, drama ** - Don’t know, don’t care, don’t even have a write-in choice.
**Actor, comedy ** - Don’t care as long as it’s not Charlie Sheen
**Actress, comedy ** - Mary-Louise Parker, “Weeds”. I don’t watch it, but she can’t be any worse than the other 4 choices.
**Supp. Actor, drama ** - Much as I love Hiro, Masi Oka isn’t that great an actor. Terry O’Quinn it is.
Supp. Actress, drama - Write-in vote for Julie Benz, “Dexter”.
Supp. Actor, comedy - NPH, “HIMYM”
Supp. Actress, comedy - Jaime Pressley, “MNIE”

If I had a say in the nominations, there’d be:

Best Drama:
Deadwood
The Wire

Lead Actor in a Drama
Ian McShane, Deadwood

Supporting Actor in a Drama
Gerald McRainey, Deadwood

Supporting Actress in a Drama
Robin Weigert, Deadwood

One word: SHATNER

I’ll third The Wire. The Emmys do include cable, just not The Wire. If the voters don’t watch regularly, they won’t get it, because it’s not structured like other shows.

The Wire has diminished my respect for Milch’s Deadwood. The dialogue and plotting that I used to love now seems affected. Complication for the sake of complication rather than coming naturally from the characters and setting. Especially by the third season.
