Just checkin’ in to say da swampcave smells so yummy right now. Guests are expected at six and dinner is at seven. ACBG was a bad boy. He went out and bought two thingys of those Ferrero Rochers (whatever). That’s what I get for lettin’ him out unsupervised.
I knew you people would understand that the dogs are amazingly therapeutic. I caught myself earlier thinking, “I should be feeling worse than this.” (To be fair to myself, it comes and goes. Today, though, has been a really good day.)
And lunch sounds great. They’ll be back next Thursday, if I remember that right. And I’m going to be here through early January anyway, so it’s not like there isn’t time.
I must remember to go buy the pups Christmas presents!
palebunny I think you should get the boys these. What dog doesn’t love a brand new purse for Christmas! ![]()
May I ask a stupid question, completely off topic and not a priority?
[sub]If I haved saved something to my iDisk, I can take the bit off my desktop and put it in the trash, right?[/sub]
I need a computer class…
Sorry to hear of your troubles, MontyPython Monster/Beast. I myself don’t find dogs therapeutic, but to each his or her own. Take it one day at a time…
I am off to Target-I do hope they haven’t increased the cover charge for me. I scored some cheap sheets earlier today at TJ Maxx–King, 360 thread count (I wanted a bit more, but hey, the price was right!), right color and only $30. They are in the dryer.
Off to buy #2 a shirt with a collar that he can wear to the Theater. He goes with my MIL tomorrow to see A Christmas Carol. He doesn’t want to go, but a lil culture never hurt anyone. That’s written down somewhere.
Yeah, it is. The skating rink is always going to be there, thought, while the party is tonight. But at this rate I won’t end up going to either because my blankets have wrapped themselves around me and REFUSE to let me go.
whiterabbit, I sympathize. Breaking up is a bitch. You just have to take your time. And doggies help a lot.
Dinner was very good. Very expensive but very good. We shared the grill/table with a family of 4 (including one girl who was way too young to appreciate it) and another couple. The chef was a bit clumsy, but the food was tasty. It would be a fun restaurant with a big group of friends rather than sharing with strangers.
After dinner, we went to the liquor store next door and I got some generic kahlua. Then we ran to Lowe’s, and now we’re home. All in all, a very good day. Now we’re watching TV and the bed is warming - I love the electric blanket. I just hope a certain feline won’t walk across my head in the middle of the night.
All in all, life is good.
Dinner was delicious (half of it is sitting in my fridge for tomorrow), the concert was lovely, and the company was enjoyable. No sparks, but he’s a really nice guy with a good sense of humor. Plus he’s single, straight, and financially solvent (3 of my top criteria). We’re going to dinner, just the two of us, on Wednesday. It’ll be nice to have someone to go to the movies with, and maybe away for an overnight Saturday into Sunday to Atlantic City or Foxwoods. I am not going to put any expectations on it. That’s how I’ve messed things up in the past. Who knows? at least I could get a friend out of it - someone who is willing to come out from NYC to Lawn Guylandt. And my friend says he’s very devoted and considerate of the people he cares about. I will definitely keep y’all posted. (Sorry, Bobbio, I may be off the market soon ;))
Here are the fortunes from tonight:
Wish you happiness
The law sometimes sleeps, but never dies
The only rose without a thorn is friendship
and there is a tie for best of the night:
Many receive advice; Only the wise profit by it
May you have a good appetite
<snerk> away
Good morning. I hate Saturdays/
rosie, I glad things went well.
palebunny, puppy therapy is great. I know no matter how bad my day goes, at least Maggie Wonderbeagle is happy to see me.
So I ended up going to the party. I didn’t really know anyone there - it was being hosted by a girl who was a college buddy of one of my grad school friends. But still managed to have a good time - pleasantly buzzed, if not as trashed as last night.
rosie, glad to hear you had a good time!
In other news, I simply canNOT get rid of this cough! I’ve been coughing like a consumptive all week and my voice sounds like I’ve been a chain smoker ever since I was 5. I’ve tried Thermaflu and Cepacol to no avail. Argh.
Maybe you should take up chain smoking! At least then you’ll have the excuse
 .
Wish you happiness <snerk> IN BED! <snerk>
The law sometimes sleeps, but never dies <snerk> IN BED! <snerk>
The only rose without a thorn is friendship OK, doesn’t really work, but nice fortune
Many receive advice; Only the wise profit by it <snerk> IN BED! <snerk>
May you have a good appetite <snerk> IN BED! <snerk>
The soiree went well. Much food and fun was had by all. Best part… no leftovers! YAY!!!
Glad the protodate went well Rosie. Good luck and well, just have fun and see where it goes.
rigs about the advice, I don’t see why not, but I ain’t real computer smart so maybe I’m not the best to give advice. Course, that never stopped me.
I need more caffiene.
Rosie, the intercourse was good?
Hey y’all, I saw the Shuttle launch last night. No, I didn’t go to Flarduh, or back to my old employer to see it on the internal feed. I was in my back yard underneath the peecan tree…
The local news made a big deal about the night launch, and that we could see it if there were no clouds. Well, it was severe clear, and I went to look. Watch for a very bright light coming from the southwest starting about 5 minutes after launch. I caught it when it was to the southeast and followed it to where it was a handful of degrees north of due east, when the light suddenly went off. after a couple of seconds, it flashed twice, and stayed out. I didn’t have any media with me to say so, but that would have been main engine cutoff.

I’m skipping church today. It’ll be hell for me if I bite it today…
I had a very bizarre dream that involved, among other things, trying to determine if my sister knew how to do laundry, having my car burglarized and my cell phone, purse, and ID stolen, then wandering around trying to find a phone book and a phone to call the police, and it ended with me sitting around with Jeff Foxworthy speaking French.
No, I didn’t drink last night, but maybe I should have.
Bernie’s been walked and fed. Brandy didn’t walk on my head, but she did settle down next to me so that I was wedged between her and **FCD ** and I couldn’t move. Luckily, I’m bigger and stronger than she is, so it wasn’t too hard getting out of bed.
It’s about 25F outside right now, but a toasty 65 in here. Plans for the day? I think I’ll clean my studio while doing laundry. Oh yeah, I’m at it again - try not to envy me.
I’m going to try to actually keep up with this thread. Wish me luck!
It’s cold. Like FCM said. Brrrr. I had to let the dogs out to do their business, but at least I don’t have to go out until it warms up! I like it cold, but I don’t like being out in it too long.
Plans for the day? I’m going to head for the mall. It looks easy enough to get to, and I know I’ve been there at least once, I just wasn’t driving. I need some earrings, dangit! Otherwise, plans involve sitting around and doing not much at all.
Morning part II. Today is a do nothing day, but I might fire up the Roomba.
That sounds like an excellent plan, palebunny, wish I could join in!
I can’t believe it’s Sunday afternoon already…where did the weekend go? Come on, own up, which one of you filched it?
Friday afternoon on the train home, I got a text from 'im indoors to say he’d just been to collect his Wii and he was in the pub with his friend, if I wanted to join them. What kind of a question is that? So I went to meet them in the Gifford Arms and I managed to delay the set-up of the Wii by a few hours.
Saturday was a hell of hexmas shopping with my friend, we had to go into Birmingham and it seemed like the entire world had decided to go to the Bullring too. What a performance! We were very glad to get home again, but the evil shopping’s all over and I just have to wrap stuff now. Then I started doing stuff in the house - changed the beds, did two loads of laundry, vacuumed the floors, tidied up some stuff and had a long soak in the bath when it was all over.
Today I’ve done tons of studying so I’m now a week ahead on my course, done the grocery shopping and I’m just cooking a huge beetroot to make soup out of it later.
Sometime 'im indoors will be home, he’s been down in Reading with some of his ex-colleagues from ICL which means he went for a meal at Sweeney & Todd’s pie shop…so he’d better come home with pie!
whitebunny, I’m sorry. Breakups are so painful. Chocolate also helps, I’ve found. In addition to dogs.
Yesterday Attacks Husband and I spend most of the day Christmas shopping. It was fun. and then pause for effect he took me out for dinner! It was our second date. The first time he took me out was Easter. Then we came home and hung out with MR. Lissar, and after a bit Quasi-Daughter showed up in a state of advanced matricide (not of me) from arguing with her mother all day about how to pack her two suitcases.
Her mother is mental.
We had a lovely time.
I’ve gotta haul Mr. Lissar out of bed for Mass. Wish me luck. We didn’t get to bed until about 1:30. Before work there’s a dojo Christmas party at a local sushi restaurant. Only the dojoites, right?
I now have 3 presents wrapped and under the tree, she said, smugly.
I need to wrap 4 more and then I will be done (pretty much).
I made Bishop’s bead this morning-a fancy way of saying sour cream quick coffee cake. It’s ok. Gorgeous day out–wish I had some energy…
Work (RN) tomorrow and then Tuesday at the lib. I kind of thought that once the semester ended, the stuff at the lib would, too–as if it were some kind of lab for school*. Alas, no-I am still scheduled for it, even though all I want to do is GOOF OFF FOR AWHILE.
*yup-irrational and nonsensical, but there it is…
Whoever is going to the Maul, please mind your manners and Be Nice…I was at Target last night and found all manner of children misbehavin’ (running and shrieking through the store) and parents arguing-with each other and disembodied voices on cell phones. Twarn’t pretty, I can tell you.
Good morning (just barely) everyone!
Glad the proto-date went well, rosie. Sometimes sparks take a little time, so don’t worry too much about that.
FCM that’s both a pro and con of hibachi restaurants. Sometimes sitting with total strangers is a kick and sometimes it’s just not very interesting. We have a similar restaurant near work and always have fun going to lunch in a big group. A couple of friends and I went around Christmas last year and sat next to a guy who looked - genuinely - like Santa. That was a hoot too.
I’ve had a bite of leftover French toast casserole (there were leftovers because there was so much food that everyone wanted to try “just a little bit” of just about everything). I think I only missed getting a little bit of one thing. And there were about 20 things to sample from.
I’ve also tried to make a list of stuff I need to do today.
Well. Gotta jump in the shower and get to church. Then I think I’ll go to Borders and get a calendar for Mom. There’s a garden desk calendar that she loves that they only sell there. Hopefully they still have it.
We’ll see what else I can get out of the way. I want to make some rum balls later and upload some pictures that I need to get printed for Mom (found an album on my last foray to Target).
Back later. You’re up for tomorrow, right doggio?
GT
Second load of laundry is in the machine, and my studio is cleaner than it’s been since we built it. **FCD ** built me a shelf to stow my ware boards, which frees up another shelf for, um, stuff. I swept (no more Bernie in the studio - way too much hair!) washed down all the surfaces, threw stuff away and generally tidied. So when my firstborn gets home, we can mess it up again - yay!
I need to do some organizing on this desk. And I want to make some nanner bread.
**whiterabbit ** - Annapolis mall?? What a fun place - especially the parking lot! Better thee than me…
