The end-of-summer MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 71 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 91 and a chance of rain. We shall see.

gotti unfortunately we can’t pick who we’re related to can we. I hope DH get through this without too much family trauma/drama.

doggio are you sayin’ I can get a mark on my PERMANENT RECORD for even knowin’ I have a PERMANENT RECORD?

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Le Sigh.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Good morning! I hate waking up exhausted. It’s not from staying up too late or waking up all night. Rather, I was having a dream that I was running around trying to find my car. It started out when I went into a library to have a shower (I don’t know where that came from) and they were having some sort of fund raiser, so I decided a shower was a bad idea. Then everything morphed so the library was on an Air Force base and at that point, I couldn’t find where I parked my car. I was trying to avoid runways and airplanes and big industrial equipment, and everything was so spread out, I was walking forever. When some young airmen tried to give me directions, it was getting dark and I couldn’t see the map well enough to get oriented. **FCD **showed up, and at one point, so did my ex-SIL. When I finally struggled out of the dream and into the semi-daylight of this morning, I was physically spent. NOT a good way to wake up.

But I’ve showered, dressed, and breakfasted on some 'nanner bread that MIL bought from the little store where I sell my stuff. She raved on and on about how great it was - I thought it tasted like ordinary 'nanner bread - good but nothing special. Now I’m finishing my caffeination.

Today is Taz-to-the-vet day. I need to dig out the cat carrier - I’m pretty sure I know where it is. At least he’s easy to catch and contain. The other cat gets out her claws when she doesn’t want to be picked up, which is most of the time. I have scars to prove it! Anyway, Taz has been licking and biting and scratching himself like crazy - to the point that when he comes to bed with me, he gets the whole king size mattress shaking. Kinda makes it difficult to fall asleep when your bed goes off the Richter scale. Stoopit cat.

Otherwise, just another dreary, overcast, humid day ahead. Happy Thursday! Oh, and thanks for missing me, Butters!

blurf!

Note to self: do not leave the ice cream container where the kitties can get to it.

Especially not the coffee ice cream container.

It was a long night, folks.

Good gad!

Catnip flavored ice cream would be an even bigger mistake.

speaking of kittehs, didn’t you promise us some photos? :dubious:

From the world of FairyChatKittehs, I just brought out the cat carrier for Taz’ appointment later today. Ziva saw it and bolted out of the room. Guess it’s a good thing she’s not the one going to the vet. I can’t believe she remembers that thing - it’s been months since their last appointment…

I did, but the phone has not been cooperating. I will try again to force it to email my pix to myself so I can post them to photobucket.

what kind is it? If it’s a smartphone, shouldn’t you be able to synch it to the computer? then you can transfer the photos that way.

Kill me now. I just got an email from my almost employer saying I have to do some training. Fortunately it’s online. Unfortunately, it’s Anti-terrorism and security training. Yes, it’s important training, but the way it’s done is pretty inane, bordering on paranoid. Apparently, when I rent a car, I’m supposed to check it for explosives and I need to choose a hotel room to minimize the chance of terrorists getting to me. Or something.

I’ve done very similar training before - it was an annual requirement at my last job. It’s mostly common sense, but the way it’s presented, it seems to assume you’re too busy drooling on yourself to know that you shouldn’t try to fight someone with a gun or accept a suitcase from a stranger at the airport. :smack:.

Caffeinated Kittens?
Oh MY

phouka, you know the rules…

No mini USB cable on hand, and the cell phone refuses to speak to the server. Hmph.

I have to go do something called “work”. It’s very annoying.

Take Swampy with you.
While he fights them for you, run.

flytrap, that’s ingenious!! I just *know ***swampy **would love being my bodyguard. Maybe I could even sing to him like Whitney Houston did to Kevin Costner!

Sorry, that mental image almost broke my brain…

Mom, I’ve had dreams like that. Hate them.

Got another bookmark design done last night for the craft show I’m doing in October, while watching The Great Mouse Detective and some other things (I basically turn on a movie or show as soon as I get home).

Managed to get up early today, but only managed to leave ten minutes early. And tonight I need to go to my parents’ house to borrow a drill and some stuff, because I forgot to get them last weekend. I’ve got a lamp to hang, you see, and my electric screwdriver won’t take a big enough bit.

… and back from the vet’s. Idiot cat cussed at me the whole time we were there because I wouldn’t let him wander around the exam room. Vet gave him a steroid shot and said he’d call me in 2 weeks to see how the scratching/chewing was going. We talked about our time in the military (he was in the Marines and enlisted about the time I could have retired if I’d stayed in) and he gave me a military discount. And I came home to yet another training requirement from work - telling me I couldn’t take a camera on the Navy base. Duh!

The rain is about over. I’m thinking PapaJohn will make supper. All in all, a lazy day in FairyChatLand.

Here’s the deal, if you do not have any better sense than to argue/fight with an armed person or accept luggage from strangers, then you should not be out amongst the public much less at the airport. Plus, all that info should be on your PERMANENT RECORD. :stuck_out_tongue:

Stoopid sinuses are killin’ me. I think I shall call it a day and go take some Benadryl[sup]TM[/sup]. Stuff works but I can’t be functional when I take it.

ICK!

I’ll take your caffeinated kittens and raise you. Some friends have what I consider to be odd pets, and recently became the owners of about 8 baby possums. They appear to be extremely energetic without added stimulants.

Got back from buying a bottle of Fire Ant Death and found a hitchhiker on my keys. No idea where it jumped on, but there’s a roughly 3/8" square x really thin magnet with an attached sticker advising to protect from extreme temperatures.

Meanwhile, when the President’s speech was moved inside, they’ve guaranteed that today’s weather will be mild and dry.

Morning Mumpers! I have arrived in LA and am having a good time - a friend is over here for a month and spent the day yesterday doing the tourist guide thing for me so I feel like I’ve been everywhere already! Today’s trip is by bus to Santa Monica for a wander round, should be plenty of fun once I get my sense of direction sorted out and work out which corner I need to be on to catch the bus.

I am adjusting ok to the time difference although I was wide awake at 5am today…anyway, time to get the sunscreen out and hit the streets next…

flytrap, put that glass on a coaster right now, before moooooom sees you!
