I went to the air show today. I must be getting jaded in my old age, cuz the Blue Angels are still the epitome of , but the thrill just wasn’t as great as in the past.
Oh, and for those who really know me, I did something way out of character: I bought beerverages today. Tomorrow is a holiday, so I’m firing up the smoker to do a <snerk> butt <snerk>, and while I’m at it, I’m also going to make a couple Beer Butt Chickens.
I don’t drink very often, so it will be a great personal sacrifice to drink those two cans of Bud down to halfway as the recipe calls for. Any bets on how long the other four brew languish in my fridge?
We’re about to get tropical stormed on here in the holler. They’re calling for flash flooding. Hopefully no one washes downhill.

We worked our butts off!! But all of FCD’s tools are in the basement. Daughter also helped us put down the last bit of cove molding. There’s still a little stuff remaining to go down - after he organizes what he has there now. So yay!
We were going to take her to DB McMillan’s for supper, but they were closed, so we ended up at Texas Roadhouse, and we’re officially stuffded. I will assume the knit position shortly. I expect to sleep like the dead tonight.

After being hermits yesterday we decided to get out of the house today. We went for brekkie, then Lowes, then found the public golfcourse for mr ems with a driving range that is nearest to the house, then we went and looked at new boots for him and pretty leather (aka expensive) purses for me, then we took in a movie and came home and grilled chicken which we had with some of the leftover roast corn & black bean salsa and some brocolli with cheese sauce. Yum!
Now we are watching one of the Bourne movies on TV and chilling. It has been a good day.
Got waaaay too much meat for the smoker tomorrow but I have a freezer and I’m not afraid to use it. Thursday or so that is after I pack on as much as I can. Until then and the next edition of the MMP -----------
