If you less than three but more than two your doc, does that mean you occasionally get into a threesome with said doc?
Good morning, and welcome back from maintenance!
I spent an hour refreshing till this page came up again!
Nothing like starting the day mixing salt water! In about 3 hours, I’ll pump it into another tank and start making more water. We need about 150 gallons to fill the aquarium and the sump - right now, we’ve got about 60 gallons, and by the end of today, we should be close to 90. Good times.
I need to get a new lawnmower battery today and mow the lawn/mulch the downed leaves. So that’s my plan for today. And I need to get together my box o’ tools for class on Tuesday. Hope I remember what I need to do this pottery thing…
It’s been close to 2 years since I’ve made something.
That’s all for now - Happy Thursday!!!
MOOOOOOM mowage is also on the agenda for this evenin’ at da cave. Gotta have the yahd lookin’ good for the “End of Summer” bash on Sattidy. I remembered to take the <snerk> Boston Butt <snerk> out of the freezer last night so it can thaw. I’m proud of me for that.
Nava if one less than three’s but more than two’s their doctor, it’d be more like a 2 and 2/3some. I’m not sure how that’d work.
Or maybe that’d be a two and one-thirdsome or a two and three-fourthsome. This is gettin’ complicated.
GT, we used flour because we had it on hand and rolled 'em up like a stogie because that’s what we’re used to. Any variation though would be good. IMHO the thing about Hatch Chiles is that the flavor is subtle so you either need to use a good number of them or not too overpowering an amount of anything else.
FCM, will you now need to cycle your tank again, all the ammonia turning into nitrates turning into nitrites and so on? I remember that taking a month plus to complete before I could put any species in beyond the most hardy.
ETA: Oh, and I hope you’ve got a good mask if’n you’re mowing leaves. Do people still burn them in the Fall or is that no longer a ‘green’ option?
Swampy, we used to vacation at Lake Delonaga (sp?). Do you know it?
Mornin’!
I went to the gym today! Yay for water aerobics and sfimmin’…
Irk beckons.
**lieu **- we’re pretty much starting our tank from scratch - all new water but the old, sifted live sand and the old live rock. Plus **FCD **is going to thoroughly clean everything, including the sump and the protein skimmer - Sunday is gonna be a messy day. I seem to recall we let things cycle and sit for a month when we first set it up. Then we got our first 2 fish - both of them died last weekend.
As for leaves, some folks burn here, but we have a tow-behind mulcher/vac. I take all the chopped up leaves and sticks and dump them at the far end of our yard to rot. But today, I’m just going to mow and blow - there really aren’t that many leaves, and it’ll feed the yard if I let it decompose in place. Just gotta get a new battery first.
Daughter has been here and dropped off all the buckets and her former fresh water aquarium. She intends to sell it, but for now, it’ll be great for holding water that’ll be pumped back upstairs on the weekend, so yay! The two empty tanks will hold at least 100 gallons. We may not have to resort to buckets after all. <fingers crossed>
I should probably put on something presentable and head to Lowe’s. I can’t bring myself to venture forth in torn gray sweatpants and brown loafers. What would the neighbors say??? I feel a disturbance in the Gay Force - I suspect I gave **swampy **a case of the vapors… So off to don jeans and head to California. (The city, not the state.)
The city, not the state? Then how do you explain passing through Hollywood? :dubious:

Hollywood (MD) is next door to California (MD), and lies between Mooooooooom and Lowe’s. I had a blast messing with my kid’s head about this when we brought him back with us from Indyanner.
Morning all! I’m up and caffeinated. I’m gonna hit the Laundromat before work. Thanks for the well wishes. On a brighter note, I was in the zone last night. I got 3rd place in trivia(my team showed up at the end, or we would have won), and I cranked out 4 cartoons during it. I guess my cartooning muse hangs out at the bar.![]()
Congrats on the partial payment, MMMMooooommmm.
Sorry about the car and the coffee pot, Lan.
Stay safe, lieu.
: checks phrasebook :
“I will not buy this record, it is scratched!”?
Good Thursday morning all. Glad to hear that your “interim” payment arrived safe and sound (and on time!), FCM.
Hugs sent out to Doggio, very sad news. And a very belated sorry to Spaz for her grandmother’s passing.
I have not been to the NM state capital yet, but sometime this month my daughter and I plan to go on a day trip to Santa Fe. The train goes there (this is the local train called the railrunner); we can go up in the morning and come back in the afternoon. I am looking forward to the day trip.
My son’s birthday is on Saturday, and I’m hoping that he’ll be able to make it down here for the weekend. I did at least get a chance to talk with him last night. He seems to be making out okay.
Hope everyone has a great Thursday!
Last night’s cartoons
**BBBobbio **- as I happened, I went to the NAPA store in Mechanicsville, since the battery that was in the mower was a NAPA, plus it was close. Then I stopped at the WaWa at 5 and 235 to fill my car and my gas can. I’m good to go. Eventually. See, WaWa had donuts that called to me…
To be fair, it is still a bit dewy in the back yard - the sun hasn’t reached the lawn yet, so I’ll just mow a bit later. Shortly, I will go wipe out the fish tank, then pump the current batch of water into it. Then I can start making a new batch. Hope **FCD **remembers the salt on his way home.
Speaking of whom, he went to see his back surgeon the other day, and <fingers crossed> his x-rays look good. He’s got an MRI on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Dr gave him some Lyrica, and it seems to be helping a bit - so maybe it’s neurological and not skeletal? And maybe no surgicals??
**doggio **- love the zamboni!
**tarra **- the train trip sounds like fun! I love trains! That is unless they’re stopping me from going where I need to go. But in the 7 years we’ve been here, I have yet to see a train at any crossing. I know they use them because that’s how the coal gets to the power plant.
Guess that’s all for now. I should be productive, shouldn’t I??
You didn’t think I was going to be such a pain in the ass when I moved here, did ya?

I’m eating lunch at my desk. Curently up is a bag of chips and the first I’ve had of VunderBob’s Own Kick-Ass Hurricane Force Salsa. I’ll say I outdid myself with this year’s batch.
**BBBobbio **- are your office windows rattling from the air show rehearsals?? Apparently, at least one flight path is really close to my neighborhood…
Reciplease?
My office window faces south, so I can see most of the traffic that comes in from the west. I told my office mate that it looked like World War II out there because of all the prop driven warbirds buzzing the field.
ETA: Loo, the recipe is in the Mumper Recipe Blog. The only two changes were the hurricane reference instead of the firefighting in the name, and an undocumented addition of lime juice to taste. If you can’t find it, I’ll post a link tonight when I am home.
Tummy is being stupid. 6 minutes till quit o’clock. Tomorrow I’m picking Mom up at the train station, then we’re going to see Golden Apple Quartet’s en blanco y negro (“black and white”) and on saturday we’ll go see Tricicle-directed Forever Young, a show they caught in Norway and loved so much (even though they couldn’t understand the spoken parts at all) that they bought the rights to it as soon as they were back in the office.
I’m feeling all cultured-up already.
I’m at the laundromat. I think the likker store across the street is on fire.
The Blue Angels are practicing right now…

For a minute I thought she meant California PA; asshole of the world. I’m not kidding - look at it on a topographical map. You get there by going through Washington - the one without a true beltway.
That’ll be six and six, please.
QUICK - SAVE THE ELDERLY AND THE CHILDREN!!! (Any scotch over 50 years and any whiskey under 12)
