Hm. I’m not sure if I can post on a ‘getting up early’ MMP, definitely not one of my specialities
Speaking of which, I should really get off my arse and do something, seeing as it’s 1pm, and I’ve barely managed to get breakfasted and dressed so far.
It’s a cloudy 63 degrees and of course the AC is on because… well, just because.
I am going to open my window for a while anyway.
I’m up too early because the damn dog woke me up to go outside. I suppose that is better than the alternative but I am tired and then I couldn’t get back to sleep.
So today I have to let out, feed, medicate the dogs and cat and scoop the little. I need to go grocery shopping.
Moonday and Toosday are my late days to go to irk.
Let’s see - the noise, the uncomfortable seat, the hot exhaust pipe near my foot/leg, every other idiot driver on the road, crud blowing behind my glasses… It’s just not fun. I agreed to ride with him to one of the HOG events - maybe 15 miles away - and even that short ride was painful. Everyone in his HOG chapter tries to convince me how great riding is. I smile and repeat that I just plain don’t like it, and they eventually shut up.
And I think trikes are silly, so no way would I consider riding on one of them.
Years ago when we lived in Florida, he had a Royal Star and we did a long ride from Orange Park to Fernandina Beach - something over 100 miles round trip. It was sheer torture, and I was lots younger then.
Discomfort aside, I just don’t trust vehicles on the road, and I don’t buy the “loud pipes save lives” silliness. Oblivious drivers don’t hear or see anything outside their little sphere, and they’re the ones who hit bikes that they didn’t see. I feel vulnerable enough when I’m in a small car beside a large vehicle, so being on a bike just tweaks my nerves up to 11.
Speaking of which, spousal unit just left. He’s shooting for Wheeling or just beyond before he stops today. I’m most nervous about him going around the DC Beltway - see the above comments about oblivious drivers. I’ll feel better when he calls me from somewhere along I70.
I did not get up early today seeing as I have the day off from irk. Yesterday my sister and I did the final cleanout of Mom’s condo. It finally sold 2 years after she did. Today I’m going through the 6 boxes of stuff I brought home. Where the heck am I going to put all of it???
That must be the problem. I keep trying ones from Freecycle, and they’re always junk. Mebbe if I actually have to pay for one, the quality will be better.
Lucky, if it comes with a job down in the Hampton Roads area, I’ll take it.
Hello all, I got up early (for me) today at 7:30, so that I can take a beautiful jaunt over to the divorce court and finally file my papers…3 years and 353 days after I left my husband. :smack:
Look for the pigskinny object spiralling through the air towards…
What kills me, both Pam Oliver’s cameraman and the guy filming the shot saw what was coming… and neither raised the alarm. Result: Mega headbeaning.
So after 16 years my wife is leaving today, thankfully her company and not me. Her manager is awful, they want to reorg, give her new territory, responsibilities, etc. She’s gonna slide 'em a letter of resignation. I told her “Turn your cellphone video on first, at least catch the audio so I can get a chuckle later.”
I third that. Moooom, you’re outvoted- you’re now a watermelon monitor.
I’m having a pretty silly day- a friend’s offered to help me move the bigger stuff (not much, the bed, a very tall bookcase and possibly a desk) next week, but she can only do it the one day she won’t have a 4-year-old ‘helper’.
So, I’m just about to go down to the local van rental place, to check out what they have available (would normally phone, but I was on my way back from somewhere and going almost past it), when the phone rang.
It was an interview offer, for the same day my friend’s helping me move, for a reception job at the van rental company I was planning to use. I asked if there was any possible chance of having the interview the following day- at least they’ll know my excuse is a genuine one!
Yep, I like how it’s turning out.I’m using this pattern. The one you linked is cool, but I has not a sewing machine nor the knowledge of how to use one.
I finally managed to buy some jeans that fit!! today. They were the only pair of petites in my size. I tried on the mediums and I had about six inches of jeans left covering my foot. Yeah, I’m limited in my jeans selection.
I’m trying to do one thing a day to get out of the house. Tomorrow I’m going to get my car worked on and pick up my irk clothes from Misha the Tailor. That counts as one thing even though I have to go to the extreme opposite ends of town to do this because picking up the clothes is part two of the dropping off I did last week.
Tomorrow’s my last day of vacation then it’s once more into the breach.
