The Holidays Are Over and Life Can Get Back to Normal MMP

Howdy Y’all! Home (actually for about forty minutes) from a marathon Vestry meetin’. This included an almost hour long “executive session” to discuss/approve the new budget and to discuss a couple of concerns only for Vestry ears. Fun times. NOT!

{{{Butters and Hubs}}} yikes! Glad all is better and that his daughter is down to help out. Get some much needed rest!

MOOOOOOM yay for website problems resolved.

{{{Nellie}}} so sorry about the doggie.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Butters, scary time. Get some rest and hope things go well for hubby. I don’t pray but am sending good thoughts your way.

Wet one, hang it there, you are stronger than the craving.

Moon unit, once this house stuff gets done and I can look at the budget, I want a fancy bidet-type toilet in my main bathroom–used one in a Beijing hotel a couple years ago and I’m a fan.

nellie, best to you and family; losing a dog always hurts, but your son and you gave that ol’boy a good life for 7 years. good on ya.

And good on ya, flyboy, for taking care of our feathered friends.

Hugs and tears for all the rest of ya, I just re-watched this and I defy you not to do what they say…YOUTUBERS REACT TO TRY NOT TO CRY CHALLENGE - YouTube

On more mundane matters, the fence guy came out and gave me and estimate for the back fence about twice what I was expecting, so I’m going to get a few more estimates before getting it fixed–went over and checked with the neighbor and he concurred.

Did a little shopping, needed hamburger buns and Formula 409, so stopped at Kroger then went to Krystal’s for their version of the ‘belly bomber’ burgers (if you’ve been to a Krystal’s or a White Castle, you know what I’m talking about).

Internettin’ and maybe tackleball watching (it’s been so long waiting for this game I’m not that excited about it).

Take care.

step away from the lighter!

It was warm but rainy. “Princess Pretty Paws” went 12 hours between bathroom breaks. I made seafood stew with frozen seafood for dinner.

But if your colony escapes, do you have to play Hive And Go Seek to find them?

{{{Beck}}}}
{{{{{Butters and Hubby}}}}} And prayers sent

MoonUnit, carrying a sack o’ kibble for 5km?

I’m sorry Nellie, it sucks to lose a dog, especially one you’ve had a bunch.

Stay strong. WetOne!

Oh, Butters, my gawd how scary. Extra {{hugs}}to hubby! And thanx to Doctors who do their jobs well!!
Here’s hoping…

My dear Sahir, would you please define “normal”? I would prefer something different than what usually passes 'round these parts as ‘normal’ this year, if I may. Please? whimper You are a good friend, I tried to help an honest to Jah hoarder when I lived up north, but I finally gave up as she would ruin my weekday progress by going on garage sale shopping sprees over the weekends.

Mooom any day spent in the company of a grandchild is a day in heaven!

Swampster in my family that kind of fog is known as Dimensional Fog, as in you might exit the fog in a different dimension! Why yes, all of us read/watch/listen to everything Stephen King/Tabitha King/Joe Hill/Owen King create, why do you ask?

I leave my lights up longer for two reasons. The first being that my family celebrates both Christmas on 12/25 and New Year’s Eve on 12/31, then Russian Christmas on 1/7 and Russian New Year on 1/14. (My kids were baptized and confirmed into the Russian Orthodox Church) The second reason also comes from living up north. As the days are so short we were asked by the mayor to have our lights on in the mornings and afternoons so the kids going to the bus stops and walking to school some extra illumination. Down here the mornings are still dark, but not the afternoons, so I still leave my lights on for them in the morning. Also for me, anything that lifts my spirits during the dark days of winter is nothing less than a good thing, and I like brightly colored lights!

Johnny L.A. here is a local link with some suggestions on how to keep the feeders from freezing. You are a little colder than I am, being so much closer to the border so mine isn’t freezing during the day, but it does at night.

Oh Butters! How terrifying for all! You have all of the good thoughts my brains can muster for as long as you need them. (((Butters and the mister)))

Sorry, I keep getting distracted, I have been working on this for most of the afternoon and I guess it’s time for me to get started on the evening routine! Please note that this is the 2nd consecutive week in which I have posted at least once! It shouldn’t take too long to get back into the habit! For those I missed, hugs, be strong, and you’re awesome all around. (I miss rosie and her farewell sig.)

So, as Tigger says, ta ta for now!

Just to clarify, the now-departed pooch is my son and his wife’s. I’ve been dog-sitter at times. When I had cancer surgery, son, wife, and dogs (There are several, all adopted as oldsters.) came to visit. I can’t tell you how uplifting it was to have Angel Dog, as I shall now call him, there with me. The other two are sweet and lovable. Angel Dog was magical.

Butters, what a nightmare that must have been! Glad you’re getting a good night’s sleep. Prayers shall recommence immediately.

Johnny LA, I’m south of you and Mrs. LA. I must not be far enough south to have seen the bad stuff.

I’m about to head to bed. I just wanted to say I accomplished something I found difficult. The guys upstairs have a tendency, as I’ve mentioned, to get noisy between 1 and 3 AM: vacuuming, moving furniture, running washer, etc. I did put a nice note on their door asking them to please stop playing music/TV so loudly late at night, and they turned it down somewhat. But nothing else stopped. So today I went to the manager, explained that I didn’t want to cause trouble or be a PITA, but the guys above me maybe don’t understand Quiet Hours (10 PM to 6 AM). She was very understanding and is sending them a text reminding them what Quiet Hours entail. No mention of complaints.

Hopefully they’ll get the message.

Hang in there kiddo; one day at a time.
Stupid sinuses woke me up and I’m getting a sore throat. Do I try to get back to sleep for a half hour or visit the Dope. I guess we can guess which one won out.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 64 Amurrkin out and cloudy with another DENSE FOG ADVISORY in effect this mornin’, with a predicted high of 75 and cloudy. First Pre-Spring continues. Today’s agenda calls for a visit from the bug guy at eight o’clock, a visit to the doc and vampires for me at nine, a visit to the toof doc for OYKW at ten-thirty, laundry, and decidin’ what to do for sup. Majik intartoobz pizza may win. Then again we could swipe The General’s Sup. We have decided (well, decided last night) neither of us is inclined to cook.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas, bother, and alack, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Oh, also, when I leave the doc and vampires, I need to take care of a couple of errands. Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Had to actually set an alarm today - **FCD **had an early meeting. Poor baby. Plus it’s raining, so doubly poor baby. But he gets to use his new umbrella, so there’s that.

Meanwhile, I’m up, showered, dressed, fed, and I’m working on caffeination. The critters have been tended to and for the moment, the house is quiet. Today is story time at the library - Roxy and I will leave around 9:30-ish for the 10 o’clock story.

Moon Unit - can’t you get a wagon or a foldable cartfor pulling your purchases home instead of carrying them? (I know the one linked is rather pricey, but there are less expensive ones available.) When we were kids, my mom bought a wagonfor bringing home groceries, since we only had one car and Dad used it to go to work. The store was about 3 or 4 blocks away, but groceries for 7 filled a lot of bags. And it was strictly Mom’s wagon - not for us to play with, dammit!

**WetOne **- you don’t want those nasty things anywhere near you. No you don’t!! Time to learn to juggleso you’ve got something to do with your hands!

kai!!! You need to visit us more often. We’re theraputic, you know! Especially when you can say “Whew - at least I’m not as <weird/screwed up/unhinged/drunk> as *that *Mumper!”

Still can’t get to the company website from here. I’ll wait a while before contacting our web guy again, tho I don’t know if he can do anything. Need to make a note to ensure the domain name folks have a valid credit card number so we don’t repeat this next year.

Happy Tuesday!!

Morning all. Stayed up until after 11pm watching tackleball and got about 2 hours sleep before a big thunderstrom parked over my house for about 90 minutes, so sleep was off and on until about 7:30am. Nappage is a definite possibility.

Called two more fence people, awaiting their return calls and just finished off a great big bowl of Cheerios, so body and mind are still effective.

Another day in the 60’s F but more rain expected. Oh joy.

Happy Toosday!

It’s a chilly, rainy day.
Went to the park anyway and Echo got a good run. She didn’t pull a Lily for the second day in a row.
All of the dogs were pretty exhausted, even Lily didn’t pull a Lily today.

Today should be grocery day, but we’ll wait until tomorrow when it’s not so icky out.
I have some bills to pay today, and make the phone calls I was too grumpy to make yesterday.

My son got 100% on his test. He was worried about it.

Butters, I am so happy that your hubby is okay. I’m sure you (and he) will be a lot happier come Thorsday when he can come home.

Nellie, I think it would have felt a lot better to finish what we started. There is only so much that we could get done. I wanted to organize her closet too, you know, hang all the dresses together, the jackets together, the blouses together, but the look on her face… I backed off and reminded myself Baby Steps.
Not only does she put things in the closet all willy-nilly, but she also hangs them on the hangers all willy-nilly. All my clothes face the same direction, not hers.

And move the toilet paper, she has it on the shelf over top her clothes. I said why keep it there when you have room in the closet that is close to the bathroom and you don’t have to reach up to get it? And take it out of the plactic wrapper and stack it neatly so you don’t have the plastic wrapper hanging down.
Baby Steps…
Or maybe I’m just too anal.
So in a way it was satisfying, and in another way, not so much.

But I heard from Friend3 that we got Friend1 inspired and she is still going through stuff and getting rid of it.

I should buy her the book on Swedish Death Cleaning, except she already has enough books to start her own library.

I’m sorry about your Angel Dog.

Hang in there WetOne, you can do it.

Kai, back to normal as in everybody is back to normal irk hours, and school is back to normal, and all the radio stations are back to normal music.
You should come around more often.

I feel a bit overwhelmed with everything I have to do today. I have a list of about 20 things that need to get done, although a good bit of it is returning phone calls and setting up appointments.

**sari **- your comment about the TP storage prompted me to say sometimes things are where they are because that’s where they got put and never moved. Like in our linen closet.

When we first moved in, I put sheets on the top shelves, towels in the middle, and meds/soap/bandaids/misc on the bottom. That’s how it was for years. Then Roxy learned to open the door and suddenly the meds had to be moved to a higher shelf, and the towels are now on the bottom shelf. All of a sudden, we can easily find the ibuprofen or the neosporin or a fresh bar of soap… um *DUH!!! * We’d simply never considered there was a smarter way to arrange that closet.

We’re back from story time. I’m hoping in the future Roxy will participate more and wander around less. It was all new, but by the last song, she was sorta following along.

It was a nice program - some songs, some stories, a game, and an activity, and they got a coloring sheet at the end. I’ll make the effort to take her every week. Meanwhile, she’s napping, I just had some leftovers for lunch, and I’m about to assume the knit position. It’s still rainy and dreary and **FCD **isn’t home yet.

Mom…some of my favorite memories of the lil’wrekker are of the Library club she was in. Very young barely toddlin’ until pre-teen. As a toddler she wandered around the children’s library. I just let her go. She eventually got interested enough to sit for awhile. One aide introduced ‘Goodnight Moon’ she really loved that book. We had read it at home since infancy. At that point she put 2 and 2 together and took more interest to the books being read.
I eventually volunteered to be an aide/reader. It was very hard for me, I don’t talk much in public. This helped me and I loved it, after awhile. Kids don’t care if you stammer and studder, a bit.
Anywhoo, it turn into a wonderful thing for me and the lil’wrekker. She has a part time job at her University library. The library had been a constant in her life.
All started with the ‘Story time’ club.
I hope that sweet Roxy gets as much out the Library as we did.

Oh, I forgot- I’m on my way to the diabetic clinic for my infusion and for them to look me over. The Surgeon’s office afterwards for paperwork.
Have a good afternnon y’all!!

Daughter is home - just after I got Roxy up from her THREE HOUR NAP!!! Waiting now for the second company to come give us an estimate for insulating the shop attic. I’m not impressed with this company - they canceled the first appointment less than an hour before they were due, and now they’re late. They won’t get a 3rd chance.

**Beck **- Roxy has always loved books - we’ve read to her almost from birth - but new place + new people = too much for one toddler to bear! I think she’ll get into the swing of it soon. I did take her early enough to play around in the kids’ section for a while - she loves the computer there.

I put a roast in the oven for supper - long, slow cook. Sides will come later. And I just finished another lap blanket, so I can start another. WOOHOO!

Butters, Glad Hubby is gonna be alright.

No! You really don’t. Think about how far you’ve come. You can do this!

I don’t remember what else is going on in everybody’s life, so hugs, wet salmon, giggles, and boos. You know who you are.

I’m still fighting off a slow-motion cold and have stupidhead[sup]tm[/sup]. (even more than usual). Wifey offered to take me with her on her errands today and buy me lunch, but as it would involve being out and about for 3 or 4 hours I don’t think I can handle it. I’m debating if I want to make a quick run to Fred’s to get some veg and stuff. (‘Stuff’ being their dark chocolate covered caramels that I’ve discovered recently.)

Y’all take care now.

No you don’t.

You better bee careful with your puns or Ruble & I are liable to shoot you with a Stinger missile!

However does one choose which fence company to use? Weighing the pros & cons, going back & forth, wondering if you’re making the right decision. If only there was a term for that.

…& much alkiehaul makes our Bear toddle.

FINALLY our ISP had resolved whatever the issue was, tho they never did call me back. No biggie - **FCD **is happy again, and that’s all that matters, right?

Time to start some sides for supper.

Is this you?
