The Holidays Are Over and Life Can Get Back to Normal MMP

Still a little under the weather and I can’t decide which side its going to come down on. Another round of Mucinex may be in my future.

Looks like daughter and SIL are going to do the insulation. We’ll buy the cellulose and rent the blower and they’ll do the rest. It’ll save us some money and make them a nice little chunk of change. Problem solved. Now, they just need to work out a day when they’re both available - it’ll be an all-day job.

And now, an evening of chillage.

Howdy Y’all! I saw the doc and vampires this mornin’, accomplished errands, came back to da cave and made pimento cheese. OYKW took care of the laundry. Nice to know he’s useful. We went to the [del]hog trough[/del] Golden Corral for their senior discount buffet (between the hours of two and four) at three for a late N.O.L./early sup and are thus well fed. All in all a pretty good day I’d say.

Bumba and Ruble feel better soonest!

MOOOOOOM yay for fixed website and for RoxStar likin’ the liberry and story time. When I go to the liberry durin’ the kiddie story time it always makes me smile to see ‘em havin’ such a good time. Some sit and listen, some wander around and play with toys. It’s all good.

I gotta peel them N.O.T.s to smash up for tonight. I shoulda put a hunk-o-beef in the crockpot this morning but I was too lazy. So I’ll fry up some gravy steak and make gravy. Big Wrek loves that kinda food. I’ll try to make him eat alittle salad too. Usually he turns up his nose at that.
Got my IV and had to get sassy with them. They were trying to put the wrong medicine in me. I made her go get the PA. The nurse was pissy after that. Too bad. I knew what I was supposed to get. This ain’t my first rodeo. I feel good. No nausea at all.
I got writers cramp signing all the papers at the Surgeons office. Jeez, they like covering their butts.
Got freebies. Insulin pens and cartridges and a 6pack of a new meal replacement drink called Soylent. I’m not kidding. We looked and Target carries it. There’s lots of flavors.
It seems to me Soylent would not be a easy sell with that name. I’ll have one at my snack time and see if it’s any better than the others I’ve had. Crossed fingers.

The rain abated, so Gordie has been out a lot. Having a pre dinner martini.

: sigh: must you drone on?:stuck_out_tongue:

Too much tippling will make you tip over.

You sound like my honey. :o

Well, the movie is 47 years old, so they might be counting on poor memories…

Got two more contractors coming by tomorrow morning to price the fence replacment job. Also got notified my new desk and the furniture I bought are in the warehouse(s) and can be held to the end of the month. Job tomorrow is pulling out all the picture holders from the walls.

And spidey, there is also a term for using fencing material as a mode of transportation for undesirables…

The hot water faucet on the bathtub broke off, it’s only 2 years old. Can get by with a pair of pliers for now, but need to get a new set once the rest of the stuff I’m doing gets settled.

All y’all take care.

Moooooom, I bought a Radio Flyer wagon when I was in college, as I was transportation poor and lived a block from the grocery and three from the laundromat. It lasted until about five years ago, when the tongue rusted off. Over the years, I used it as a garden cart, a cart for the mile long yard sale, in a parade, as a camping cart and a kid hauler. I think I got my $27 worth.

Feel better soonest ruble.

I had a bad day at irk today. Twas somewhat like a Monday, but tech issues turned an hour’s sales order irk into four hours. Once home, there was a TMIsh thing that required much time spent in the bathroom (I know what I’m deep cleaning this weekend). Feeling quite a bit better now, so I’m cuddling with a dog in my lap.

You look disheveled, do you want to borrow my comb?

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this at my nearby 7-11.

I’m on my way; will you need to buzz me in?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 64 Amurrkin out and cloudy with yet another DENSE FOG ADVISORY in effect, with a predicted high of 74 and cloudy for the day. Today provisions shall be laid in, [del]church janitor[/del] Junior Warden chores shall be accomplished, and trips to Sam’s and :eek:Wally*World:eek: are also in store. Sup shall be shrimpies 'n grits and steamed spareguts. All in all this should be enough to keep both of us outta trouble.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, alack, and bother, I must needs purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Life is so hard!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Happy Hump Day!

It’s a foggy 36 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 55 today.
Tomorrow shouldn’t be too bad, but cold, snow, and ice are coming.

Got the brats off to daycare, and requested a bath and nail trimming for each of them. Echo should be fine, I told them if Ripple gives them any trouble not to worry about it. They are also going to have their photo taken (together) with their New Year’s Resolution, to stop chewing on the cat’s head.

Lots to do today, about 28 things on the list. Of course all of them won’t get done, but most of them better be. My son may as well get it into his head that he is not going to sleep all day today.

We’ve got a little fog going on here, and my head is kinda foggy. I woke at 2 and couldn’t fall back to sleep till nearly 5. Then I had a disturbing dream about my appointment this afternoon - couldn’t get a shower, couldn’t find my phone or my deodorant, needed ID to enter the Credit Union… So, yeah, kinda foggy headed.

**FCD **had an interesting email yesterday from a company he used to work for. They no longer have any mechanical engineers on staff and they’re considering a deal with him to do the mechanical design on a project. Just hope it works better than the last project he worked in their employ - after spending a gajillion dollars, they abandoned the whole thing because they couldn’t make it work and some other company made a similar product that did what they wanted to do. Is that sufficiently confusing? Anyway, it’s all very preliminary, but potentially interesting.

Nothing else exciting today. I might toss a load of unders into the washer. Or not. No pressure.

Happy Wednesday!!

Still dark at 0700, ad 15ºF. I went out and swept the powdery snow off of the covered part of the deck (the catio), and swept a path to the stool where we’ll put the hummingbird feeder later. It looks like we got six inches of snow overnight, with more coming. According to the forecast, it’s going to be warming up. 17º at 0800, 19º at 0900, 20º at 1000… All the way to 28º by 2000.

ETA: Still getting over my cold. I had to clear out the snot locker earlier, but I haven’t taken any meds yet. It doesn’t seem that I’ve been coughing that much, but my abominable muscles are kinda sore.

.

Got my patient home yesterday afternoon. He is far from well. But we are home so there’s that.

Our 124 gallon propane tank was down to 30% on Monday. I need to call the propane company when they open at 0800 to see if they can come out and fill it. We do have enough wood for a day, just in case.

Morning all. Awaiting the contractors on the fence issue, with my luck they’ll probably show up at the same time…

Still rainy out (but no fog) and 63F heading to near 70, so the furnace may get the day off. Main project for the day is to take apart the spare room bed in preparation for the Great Furniture Exodus.

Breakfast is Mac-n-cheese (hey, I’m a single retired guy, I can eats what I want).

Sari, good luck with the list and hope the brats come home clean and trimmed.

FCM, sounds like the deal could be lucrative to FCD…if they figure out what they are doing and why they are doing it in the first place…

Red, hope the TMI-thing gets better.

Everybody take care.

Excellent Butters. He will do much better at home. It is difficult to get well in hospitals.

FCM tell FCD to demand the moon for compensation. The chatty family deserves it. About the cart. I have one. The feed store is a long hike. Maybe two klms. And the sidewalks here are terrible. They are broken. Many times they have elevation variations. Might go up eight inches and down eight inches. The wheels on the cart are plastic. I don’t think they would last going up and down abruptly. As mainly a walker, I really appreciate the sidewalks on the USA. They are the best. And are never used.

And the streets…they are mostly wide enough for two vehicles, but the cars and motorcycles love to pass right next to ya. Scares the religion right out of me. I do take the cart to the market, cuz it is close and not much traffic.

Was quiet yesterday. The night before, I couldn’t sleep. Just wasn’t tired. Plus I am excited about the arrival and installation of the new toilet! I have bought more cars than I have toilets. So, it is a special event.

Since I wasn’t sleeping I got the clean the cave mode. And tossed out a lot of stuff. It is great to see shelves with vacant space on them. And the housekeeper came. So, we tackled the joint and it looks great.

Well, I have said a keyboard full.

Hump on troops.

**Butters **- glad you’ve got your sweetie home again, and I’m sure he prefers it also. I know after my couple of hospitalizations, I was always antsy to get out and back to my own bed. And don’t forget to take care of yourself!!!

Roxy has been napping for over 2 hours, so much afghaning has been accomplished. I just finished a sammich, and in a couple of hours, I’ll head out to my appointment. **FCD **may or may not meet me there, since he has a meeting an hour before.

I’ll be talking to our money guy about what to do with my 401k - some will be set aside for Roxy’s college, but I need to decide what to do with the rest. One side of me wants to have fun with it, but the sensible side (dammit) feels the need to be more fiscally cautious. So we shall discuss the options.
