The Holidays Are Over and Life Can Get Back to Normal MMP

Bad enough that I had to sit thru Predator, but now **FCD **is watching The Core. OMG, what a stupid movie that is!!! I may have to start drinking. Or take a nap. Anything but that movie.

It’s raining. I’ve decided supper will involve chicken, angel hair pasta, and some sort of vegetable matter. Unders are out of the dryer and folded, a load of jeans are drying now. So I accomplished a little today. Oh, and I fell asleep during Predator, which I count as an accomplishment.

We’re promised sun tomorrow. Hope so.

They turned them off at the sortation places because it took too many security people to process us vs. the slight chance of someone stealing something. My new place ---- too many huge open doors and movement. I ain’t sayin it can’t happen but the cost ----- too astronomical until after the fact.
Survived getting to the meeting and back. I had to drive out to Kittanning as the snow changed to freezing rain. We didn’t have any issues but we saw Staties in the ditch with people who had had issues. Coming back a little better in the travel lanes but the sides are still ice. And low temps are predicted. Tomorrow could be interesting.

{{{{{sunny}}}}}

Well, most of my bedrooms and living room are gone, donated to the Rescue Mission. They left behind a huge roll-top desk that is just too heavy and huge to move and I have no idea how to disassemble it. I’ll think of something. Bits and pieces will be collected on Tuesday.

Hope everyone’s sick family folks are doing better. I need to do a couple of hours of soccer and then a little shopping, since I was stuck in the house most of the day.

Miserable weather here all day.

It’s various types of wet, cloudy, and cold.

Got some irk done, some laundry still doing, some dusting done. Waiting on some packages from da jungle, one should have been here yesterday and another is due today.
My mother called to ask if we are coming to the armpit for her birthday. Maybe we’ll have a blizzard. I’ll order what she wants from the da jungle and have it sent to her house.

Is it just me or is 2020 already shaping up to be a seriously defective year? If this is my trial month, I’ll cancel and get a better year elsewhere, thanks.

Hugs to anyone who needs or wants them, including pets.

{{Everyone what wants one}}

Yup Nettie, I’m considering just hiding under the blankets until 2021. I will have to come out for exams and things though, annoyingly.

Chances are ------ the top lifts off being a semi-huge-and-heavy piece with the roll and writing surface and leaving two “towers” of drawers connected by a couple cross/supporting pieces or a single pillar base. But I would be interested to see pictures. Since doing Dads I’ve found myself somewhat of a desk fan.

Howdy Y’all! I’m baaaaaaack! Actually been back a while but busy with unpackin’, catchin’ up with OYKW and so forth. Had a great time at Honey Creek. I seriously am lovin’ this stuff and ‘tis fun hangin’ with my Whiskypalian peeps from all over the Diocese.

{{{Butters}}} hope this helps hubby out and yay for his son comin’ down to spell ya.

{{{Sunny}}} so sorry for your loss! Your mother-in-law, the family, and of course you are in my thoughts and prayers.

{{{VOW}}} that’s scary stuff! Hope hubs is doin’ better now.

Everyone else, yays, boos, hugs, trouts, chitlins, noogies, and how you doin’s all around as needed. My brain is fried and I’s tahrd so whilst I read all, retention is at a low point.

Soon I shall betake myself to bed. Nitey Nite Y’all!

How about a poodle that retrieves (spare) rolls of TP.
{{{Mr. Sunny}}}, who probably isn’t very sunny today on the loss of being Sonny.
I had a good date night last night. We went out for a bit (once around the block) & then came in to watch a movie(MiB 3) where she curled up on my lap for 2½ hrs of nonstop petting.
However, when I got up to go to bed, despite putting a blanket on me when I sat down I was rather furry. How does she do that?

Shower was all backup, nothing was going down. Went to Home Despot to get a different snake since the one she had was borked. New snake is not strong enough to make it thru the trap, which is about 2’ below the shower floor. She called the plumber’s wife; before they had caught up he was in the driveway. He will come back whenever he gets up in the morning to fix it. It was decided that ‘gas money’ would be a case of beer. Wonder if we have to deliver it; all of three houses down & across the street?

The first flakes started to fall as we pulled in; within 15 mins, the driveway was white. The cars haven’t moved since but the furry ones had fun playing except the one couldn’t figure out where the (snow)‘ball’ went when she bit it.
My fattie is at home but I wish I had it with me; it would be fun out there on it in this weather. :frowning:

It was apprently “Drive 10 Under the Limit Day” But I got groceries in spite of all the folks blocking the aisles. and got Gordie out before the rain. I made Orange Ginger chicken with Five Spice rice and garlic green beans.

.

All my EMT frienda now want to stab you.:stuck_out_tongue:

Hey, I have class! Admittedly its “Low”, but I have class.

Welcome back, swampy!

You mean the most noble of breeds, the lavatory retriever?

metal mouse, having done the whiskey tours, I would recommend the George Dickel tour over the JD one. They’re not very far apart, so perhaps both?

{{{sunny and family, butters and Mr., VOW and Mr.}}}

Got in from Kentucky about an hour ago. It was…interesting.

The chaplain from the local VFW was to officiate, as Darrell wasn’t really too religious. During the visitation before the memorial, the preacher from his late mother’s church a couple of hours away showed up and commenced to preaching at all of us sinners who were going to wind up in hell with Darrell if we didn’t mend our wicked ways.

Needless to say, a couple of the burley members of the VFW escorted him out at the request of the family right ahead of the law being called. Ya gotta love hillbilly funeralizing.

The drive up and back wasn’t too bad. My neighbor Lauren walked Nelson early in the day and took him to the dog park in the afternoon (with pics to boot! <3 ) for a romp with his little running buddies. He was still glad to see me when I got home.

I’s tahred. Tomorrow will be doing all of the weekend chores, so’s I’m going to get some shuteye soon.

I love winter in Hawaii. Cool breezes keep the heat down. It was wonderful walking around outside today, shorts and T-shirt.

Bummer. :frowning:

Wow, this week was a pisser eh? Well to add to the calamity … remember right before Xmas I wrote about how my aunt’s mom got sick and after 2 weeks in the er, they sent her to rehab to get over her breathing problems? and my dumbass family bitched so much about the place she got kicked out and had to go home? (because dumbasses didn’t realize how much those places cost without insurance…)

Well she never really got over it and it came back even worse right after Xmasfinally decided to go in Tuesday after serious nagging from everyone she ever knew at first she just spent the night in an observation room because they just thought she was having an attack but after 48 hours there they sent her to the hospital and she wasn’t getting better … Well someone realized her heart wasn’t beating strong enough to help her breathe… So they put a pacemaker in Friday evening and there is noticeable improvement and shes getting moved to a new rehab place that isn’t as much of a dump as the other one … so maybe the relatives will shut up and shell get better this time

Aunts going to see her tomorrow with her son and brother and i feel for them she can’t sit still for more than maybe 20 minutes and since it a 3-4 hour drive shell be going bug nuts , and decorations are all down except for the front yard… but what made it interesting is we decided we were going to organize it once and for all … took out most of the tote bins/ well after a bright and sunny day it decided to cloud up and rain … we put 30 containers back in within 20 minutes and killed my back in the process … its better now but yeah i wanna go back to 2008 and redo almost everything …

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 63 Amurrkin out and rainy with a predicted high of 64 and cloudy for the day. The rain is supposed to end this mornin’. We shall see. Winter returns this week with highs in the forties and lows in the thirties. Then pre-Spring two will commence. The big plan of the day is deheathenization and that’s it. Any need to feed will be via forage. OYKW cleanded da cave yestiddy. YAY! See, he is useful!

Shades glad your aunt’s mom is doin’ better with the pacemaker.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Morning all. I put the box springs and mattress on the floor and slept that way without any problem, so in the end I’ll only need one day in a motel instead of the 8-10 I originally expected. Neighbors kids are coming over this afternoon to help with the books and bookcases, giving the kids some money because kids…(teenagers, actually).

Taken another look at the desk and think I’ll have a go at disassembly; even have the directions, but the desk was from China and reading the translation is…interesting. But I have optimism and a couple Phillips-head screwdrivers, so we’ll see.

34F only going to 40 today, but at least no rain.

Shades, hope things work out for your aunt’s Mom. This has been the week for Mumpers having issues, ain’t it? Hope all the sickies are doing better.

And now I need to obtain some sustenance. All y’all take care.

Happy Sunday!

It is an icy, cloudy, 36, feels like 25, degrees outside. I still went to the park, took me forever to get the ice off the windshield. Between that and Echo playing try to catch me games we almost didn’t go.
When I got there the lot was full, so I was bad and parked in one of the handicapped spaces.
I almost fell once, because somebody was coming in as we were coming out and both dogs pulled me to go greet the new dog. I was a little surprised because Ripple knows better. Echo still has horrible leash manners. She’s getting there, she does pretty well at home, but once she gets close to the park or around other dogs, all training goes out the window.

I learned something new yesterday, that yes, one can screw up a meatloaf. I have no idea what went wrong but it is horrible. Maybe because I used frozen green peppers and onions and there was too much moisture in them? Maybe I should have baked it longer?
I’ll figure out something to do with the leftovers, I don’t want to give too much of it to the dogs because of the garlic and onions.

Hope your aunt’s mother does well Shady.

Only thing on the agenda for today is irk, finish the laundry I started yesterday, and remind my son to take out the trash. I also need to order my mother’s birthday gift and the cat needs a new scratching post. All those trees outside, you’d think he could get by without one.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Gonna go tailgate before the game today, since it will be reasonable, weatherwise.

Shades, glad they figured the pacemaker thing.

Sunny, so sorry.
I missed a coupla days here and all hell breaks loose.
{{{Hugs}}} to all who need them.
I’m feeling decidedly perky. Gotta be cautious. I tend to go crazy and crap happens.
Y’all have a great Sunday.
