But-he had just as much as experience as Jack Kennedy did!
No, she isn’t an airhead; she may be unqualified for the job of Vice President, but so are lots of people who aren’t stupid. There’s no evidence she’s got a low IQ. If anything, she’s rather clever, especially with regards to furthering her ambitions and crushing people who get in her way.
It’s a sexist comment. It’s funny how you, more than anyone else on the board, keep getting called out for bigoted comments, and you’re always dodging and weaving and coming up with new definitions for words in an effort to avoid the truth.
Well, I’m not DtC, but I’m going with disdain. I wonder if it’s even possible to not want to vote for Obama, and still be willing to admit that Sarah Palin is a fucking joke, and would *still *be a fucking joke even if she had a penis.
There’s no evidence she’s got a low IQ
Except her complete lack of intellectual curiosity, which is the best measure there is. She doesn’t strike me as someone who’s ever read a book she didn’t have to read, and does strike me as someone who didn’t bother to read a few she was supposed to.
I disagree emphatically. This is a woman who thinks that people used to ride around on dinosaurs and who has expressed supreme incuriosity and/or ignorance of issues that should be very important. I also have had the opportunity to form impressions from her interviews (as soft as they’ve been) and her inabilty to handle even softball questions at canned town halls. She’s not a bright woman – certainly she does not have the kind of intelligence required of a potential POTUS.
I guess I’m a feminist then. How 'bout that!
Indeed:
I have no problem if you are keeping your beliefs to yourself, but people that work towards imposing their faith on others have no respect from me at all.
First, I’m not a “pub” or “wing-nut” or “rightie”. Being Peruvian precludes it.
garygnu, you’re right, although the whole navy thing must count for something. Also, the experience/qualification thing is not mine I just thought it meant something.
DtC Wow! Did you feel a “burning in the heart”? Did you see a “burning bush”? Was it more “Damascus-like” and you were blinded?
Let’s see.
-
Governorship is inconsequential. I imagine there is a minimum number of years and a specific list of states that “count”. Please, enlighten me, you Servus servorum Obamae as to those requisites (I mean minimum number of years and the list of “real” states)
I never said “outweigh”, at most I said “count”. -
I see that diploma from expensive universites are also a requisite in order to speak for those who don’t have enough money to buy the pen for the application form the get a bum license.
-
*Princess, snowflake, Barbie *are the others you use are clearly sexist, but of course I am wrong, for I haven’t been baptised in His name.
-
Tell me, please, what scientific, peer-reviewed, double-blind system you have used to ascertain the levels of intelligence of Mr. Obama and Ms. Palin. Since in countless other threads about countless other subjects you have demanded the same, please don’t say “it’s obvious”, show me the scientific proof.
-
I cannot imagine that a preson of your intelligence, wit and qualifications does not get the obvious (even if bad) puns about Obama being some sort of Messiah and you some sort of apostle. This must surely be a leviathanical woosh.
-
In the unimaginable case that your superior brains did not actually get what I meant when I said *“DtC, I know that you have seen the light of “The One” and cannot … … Obama (and other miscellaneous election stuff).” * I meant that your political preference for Mr. Obama is so high that, in your mind, of all those who do not share your view must be stupid or evil.
-
A word that specifically means “stupid woman” is not sexist, “ugly” isn’t, interesting… . You can call a man a Bimbo no more than I can call the Mississippi river a linebacker; you can, but it doesn’t mean it is right.
-
The level of hatred you spew to the city and citizens of wherever Ms. Palin was mayor of is astonishing coming from a guy who votes for “change” and “the little people” against “Big business”.
-
If by “weaseled” you mean “running against her own party’s candidate and winning”, yes, a weasel.
-
You do give a shit about her baby. She’s the worst type of pro-life, she actually followed her conscience. If she’d been pro-choice and democrat, you’d be saying that it proves that pro-choice doesn’t mean pro-abortion.
-
Your horse…I’m guessing at least 25 hands, a bit more and you’d get “soroche”.
For fucks sake can we give the Obama/messiah shit a rest?
For what it’s worth, I’m sure Mr. Obama does not think of himself as the Messiah and most of his likely voters either. But some, surely have a Messianic love for him and their political talk is almost identical to those of religious fundamentalists.
It is those guys, not most of his voters, whom I like to irk with the comment.
One of the few things I respect about Sarah Palin is her choosing to keep her child. There are a lot of people who speak out against abortion, but when it’s their pregnancy (or their daughter’s) it’s a different situation, and they’ll be the first to go visit the clinic to get it take care of. Sarah Palin had three valid reasons not to go through with her pregnancy - she already had four children, she’s very old to be having a baby, and she knew her baby to have a genetic defect. She’s at least consistent on her views on abortion.
And please, stop mimicking that ridiculous campaign ad that is a blatant attempt to reference the “Left Behind” novels and paint Obama as the antichrist. It makes you sound ridiculous.
Completely agree on the first part.
As to the second, I have never seen the ad you’re talking about, those bloody republicans don’t show it here in Peru. I have also never read the “Left Behind” novels (although I know what they are), and surely I don’t think Mr. Obama is the antichrist. As I said in my previous post, I’m just “gadflying”, completely tongue-in-cheek.
Cite on the bold?
Particularly cases of behavior that are not common to any popular political campaign?
It’s nothing but swiftboating. Turning strengths into weaknesses. In Obama’s case, it’s the fact that he’s popular and people like him that’s supposed to be a fault. Thank God for those reasonable people who show no such hero worship (cough).
The fact that the JM team won’t turn her loose and let her speak openly tends to discredit that statement. Apparently they have little faith in her ability to dazzle us.
I don’t know–it’s a pretty good marker for people who aren’t worth paying attention to.
Dude, what the FUCK are you talking about?
A year and a half Governing Alaska is not consequential enough to qualify somebody to be President of the United States, no (and I know she’s running for VP, but the VP still has to be qualified to be POTIUS and she is not).
Goddamn it, man. Speak English. I’m sure this kind of gibbersih sounds clever to you in your own head, but I don’t know what the fuck kind of point you think you’re making. You asked for a comparison of Obama’s resume to Palin’, I gave it to you. Academics count for an other job application, so why shouldn’t count for the presidency?
No they aren’t. It was putting her on the ticket in the first place taht was sexist. You conservatives really need to stop trying to play this card. You don’t know what you’re doing. You’re going to put your eye out.
She thinks that people and dinosaurs lived at the same time. QED, bitch.
Sorry. Still not getting it. I don’t speak righttard.
There’s that tardspeak again. It’s all gibberish to me. Maybe you can get a smart person to help you write something more coherent.
Nope.
I know this stuff is new to you, but the “ugly” comment was made about Hillary ONLY because she is a woman, and it’s not a comment that would be made about men.
Sure I can, and I have, and I will again. have you ever heard of the term “himbo?” That was Quayle.
Wasilla had the highest meth production in Alaska when Palin was Governor there. That is a fact. It was not said as an attack on the “little people” of Wasilla, not that Sarah Palin gives a flying fuck about them herself.
She saw an opportunity to take advantage of her party when it was weak and backstabbed everybody she had to backstab.
No, asshole, I don’t.
What the fuck is that supposed to mean?
Guess what, scumbag. My wife is due to delievr our third child in less than two weeks. We already made the decision months ago that we would have the baby whether it had DS or not. This might come as a shock to you, asswipe, but pro-choice people do not go around looking for excuses to have abortions. You don’t know me, amd you don’t know a fucking thing about how I think or what I care about, so donb’t fucking tell me what I think, ok.
You would disagree with that?
I’ll say it one more time, assface. I DON’T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT SARAH PALIN’S BABY. It is the sheerest, right wing fantasy that liberals are somehow disappointed or aggrieved that she had it.
My horse? Jesus fucking christ, what the FUCK are you talking about?
Cite one fucking person who thinks that way.
I HAVE heard morons on the right saying they think that Sarah Palin is “part of God’s plan.” There’s actually IS a religious component to the ferver over Nuestra Señora de la Nieve that does not exist for Obama.
ETA, and while I’ve never heard a single person say they thought Obama was the Messiah or expressed any religiose sentiments about him at all, accusations that he is literally the Antichrist are ubiquitous on the right. I have heard it seriously discussed, more than once, on mainstream, conservative radio.
Hmmmm … There’s a word for posters that just post stuff to “irk” people. What is it again?
<hijack>
Congrats to you both - hope everything works out great.
</hijack>
Republican?
I’m only half-joking. There’s more’n a few here who get their kicks from pissing off the liberals.
