This is a University Professor? (Another g.d. Palin thread)

“(Sarah Palin’s) greatest hypocrisy is in her pretense that she is a woman.”

More rational liberal analysis here. Thank you NEWSWEEK!

I hope her students come in loaded for bear!

You know what? I don’t care. Fuck this thread for being about Palin. Can’t we just have like an “all things Palin” thread?

Yeah yeah, some of you might say I didn’t have to read this thread. You might be right. In any case, fuck you and your little dog too.

Clearly, Obama must renounce this.

No, not renounce: denounce. Oh, he can do some rejecting, too, but if he doesn’t denounce he’s doomed.

I actually agree with you. Fuck me (but not with a ladel please).

I don’t have a dog.

Mods or Ed or Whoever, could we just have a Palin Forum and clean the other forums of all Palin threads?

Meh, hyperbole.

I was hoping for some actually nutcase raving, rather than a Not a True Scotsman argument that happens to leave out the word True to sound more dramatic.

Ummm.

OK, look, I’m not saying it’s been a spectacularly huge or decisive factor in either politician’s campaign, but I thought lots of stuff got hurled at Sen. Clinton that would never have been said of a male candidate; some of it would not even have been parseable if it had been said of a male candidate. And now I am seeing it happen with Palin as well.
I do not care for her politics. I have a rather visceral dislike for her, in fact. But I think this really sucks. Deal with Gov. Palin for her political perspectives, perhaps her experience / lack of it (but by the same yardstick you’d use on a male gov), perhaps her personality insofar as it has repercussions for how well she could do the job (but again, if you would not say it of Brownback or Huckabee, make sure it really applies especially to her, and not for gender-specific reasons, mmkay?)…
It’s mostly just leftover detritus compared to what a female pol would have had to put up with in previous generations and You’ve Come A Long Way Baby and so on but still…

Man, this election sure has brought out the Weird.

Looks like just an akwardly-worded way of saying she doesn’t speak for all women. Note: I didn’t read the whole piece, I’m only commenting on the very brief paragraph from which FriarTed quoted.

That is obviously what the woman is saying. More manufactured Right-tard ‘outrage’.

Yea, after all, haven’t we heard plenty about Obama not really being black and not adequately representing blacks. The 'Pubs can dish it out but they can’t take it.

True enough. It’s funny how fast the party of personal responsibility has turned into whiny little bitches when the tables are turned. They remind me of schoolyard bullies.

I re-de-nounce that statement. And let me pre-re-de-nounce any further comments that hurt Palin’s feelings.

I don’t think that was our side. I always thought that came from the radical fringes of the black left-wing who also saw him as too conservative.

Cite if it was Pubbies.

Whichever side it was, it was loonies. Fuck 'em.

Same with people harping on Palin’s family or the fucking hockey kid or whatever. Fuck 'em. We have enough real issues in this election.

Sorry to burst your bubble but this campaign is NOT about issues according to McCain’s campaign manager.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/thefix/2008/09/mccain_manager_this_election_i.html

That’s the official position that one side has taken so good luck trying to get them to address any issue that is actually important.

Man the swift boats!

You want to talk about weird? This guy wrote here that Sarah Palin is practically Abraham Lincoln and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. And it got published. In a real newspaper.

You’ve convinced me! I absolutely will not vote for Wendy Doniger in November!

McCain’s campaign manager “gets the joke”?

Somehow I doubt it, since no one is laughing at the bank or the gas pump or the grocery store, but more importantly, he seems to have missed the point that the Reps ARE the joke. Is this guy tone deaf, politically? It’s not about the issues, it’s about the personalities, but we won’t allow you to even talk to Palin due to media “hostility”–this is not giving Americans a fair chance to meet her, and get to know her.

The GOP can go to hell–this is how they respond to the “negative atmosphere”?, hunker down and go mute? They should be absolutely transparent and pro-active bout putting the dirt (on their own candidates) out there.
Great response there. Not.

Wow, you finally found an over-the-top response to Palin by someone on the left of greater note than a Kos diarist.

Congratulations, you can now play the victim card at last.

Christ was getting lonely up on that cross, now you can pretend to keep him company. Not that that’ll do Him any good, but it’ll make you feel all righteous in the face of persecution and all. (Help, help, I’m being repressed…)

BTW, I said some things to you in this thread about the implications of Palin-love for your alleged faith. I’d still be curious as to how you might respond.
