The hypocrisy of Fox News vis-a-vis whining about sexism.

Because she’s unqualified, not because she’s a woman. There are many women McCain could have chosen who ARE qualified. The fact that he bypassed those women to choose one who looked better in a short skirt was a deeply cynical act of sexism.

Most definitely not. I just rank her above the people who are “No abortions for anyone - except for my daughter or myself if we need one”. I disagree with her views, but since so many people who share her views are hypocrites, it’s kinda refreshing to see someone on that side of the fence who is demonstrably consistent in their beliefs.

Nice to see you are leading the fight against Affirmative Action.

So, you don’t know anything about Affirmative Action either, huh? Not surprising.

Huh?

Not liking a political candidate for various reasons is not unreasonable. If that candidate just so happens to be a minority, that does not suddenly make one a bigot. If Palin had been a WASP man, personally I’d still think him unqualified to be VP.

It is a laugh that conservatives are crying sexism, though. One needs only to look at how Hillary was treated over the past 16 years to see the hypocrasy.

This just proves you believe in the conservative strawman depiction of Affirmative Action.

Bingo.

He seems to think that affirmative action means putting totally incompetent people in positions just because of their sex/race.

No, that is how you staff the department of Justice. Oh wait, you said “race”.

Then you’d be advised to consider how it’s coming across to people not already aware of your intent, instead of continuing with it. If your goal is persuasion, and not polarization against your position.

Well, in fairness to Dio, he was probably thrown off by the fact that none of your jokes are funny. And that you apparently don’t know what the word “pun” means.

Let’s keep this in perspective by taking an extreme case: Phyllis Schlafly, who (1) is a woman and (2) has been engaged in public life since her first Congressional bid in 1952; but nobody could reasonably call her a feminist!

Great Caesar’s Ghost! I wouldn’t want her for President either, vagina or no vagina.

Hmm, looks like Carly Fiorina is one more person who doesn’t understand what “sexist” means. I am surprised; I would have thought for sure she’d run into actual sexism in her life.

And you’re attempting to load a relatively mild descriptive term with derogatory meanings either in to smear Dio or because you think it carries negative connotations.

Ya ever think the problem isn’t in the term as much as it’s in your head.

(Mostly) agreed

Ya ever think I’m not the only one that hears those remarks that way means you’re giving Dio a pass because you happen to agree with his opinions?

A pass for what?

In all honestly, I never think at all. Makes my head hurt less that way and makes your posts easier to understand.

I can see where some people object to certain terms, but sexist? No. It’s just using gender appropriate terms in a derrogatory fashion. No more sexist than using terms like “she” and “her.” “Housewife” isn’t sexist at all. Keep trying to make it sexist though. It’s providing me with ever so much amusement.

So has Phyllis Schlafly, no doubt. Nevertheless . . .

CNN’s Campbell Brown calls on McCain campaign to stop the sexist treatment of Palin and let her talk to the press.
