The I do not want to go to work MMP

I think a week without thyroid pills is not good.
I feel like hell, I’m freezing all the time. My left knee has been hurting bad enough to wake me up at night, and now my right knee is hurting.
I’m also grumpy as hell.
I’ll be glad to start taking them again tomorrow.

My father was one of the lucky ones, retired at 50. GM had a plan that when your age and years of service equaled 81 you could retire. When he was 501/2 he had 301/2 years in, so he retired. I remember his retirement party, there were 13 men retiring and all but one were around 50. One man was being forced out because he was 65, and he was the only one who spoke fondly of his job. All the other ones were saying to get the hell out as soon as you can.

I may never retire.

Red, it was too late for curbside pickup. They need at least 4 hours notice and I would have had to be late for irk. I don’t know if I could get just a bag of rolls without paying the service fee. I think you have to get at least $150 to waive the fee.
I had 85/15 ground beef, big 3 pound pack, which is good for burgers, but my son prefers 96/4 for tacos. Even after I drain off the fat it’s still too greasy for him. However, he got a big pan of taco meat, and after he puts it in the fridge it will be easy to pick out the fat.

im catching crap about how in the 5 minutes I left the room the sears repair came and went and since my aunt refuses to buy more clothes than one pair at a time ……. hes coming back tomorrow …

The crappy thing is he was late the whole time it was supposed to be between 1 and 5 … but I called and they sais ht was going to be there between 3:59 and 5:59 he supposedly came at 5:23 but that’s bs because I didn’t leave the room til 5:30 ………

my dad worked for gm/delco from the 70s til about 6 years ago and had the golden age contracts ……it also helped he was related to about 60 percent of the plant ……

he managed to make himself indispensable to the plant by moving around positions so much that they created a utility position because he could fill in in just about 95 percent of the jobs they had

his uncle hired him and his same uncles grandson filed him out ……he walked with about a 60 k retirement bonus and I get 1k of his check a month via ssa…

There’s an ad on a local website for a free boat. Now, I don’t want a boat, but the picture wasn’t very informative, so I replied to the ad asking what I thought were reasonable questions: year, model, length, engine, berths - you know - the kind of stuff one would expect an ad to include. All the ad said was “Sail is in decent shape”

Several days after I responded, I got an email from the owner’s mother asking if he’d responded. I said he hadn’t and I repeated what I wanted to know. She replied “I think it’s 27’” and “Let me know if you want to know anything else.”

:smack:

Yeah, how about year, model, etc, etc, etc. Because if it’s not too awful, it might be worth getting, cleaning up, and selling. Or not. We shall see.

Oh yeah, and it’s freekin’ cold here. Happy Wednesday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 32 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 53 and N.O.S. for the day. Tomorrow’s high will be in the 60s and Firday in the 70s. Methinks Mother Nature needs to adjust her meds. I was a slug a bed this mornin’ and did not get up until seven! I need to go lay in provisions at some point today but don’t wanna right now. Also I shall need to go over to the church house and haul the biiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash cans (all three are full) down to the road for pickup tomorrow. Also, ‘tis Ash Wednesday so I must go get ashed. I was goin’ to do that at noon today, but I think now I won’t make it then so I reckon it will be the six p.m. service. On the plus side, OYKW and I can go together and I could persuade him to assist me with the trash cans.

Now, however, I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I should purtify and don appropriate bein’ in public attire and go to the Pubic Sto’.

Happy Hump Day Y’all! To those who observe, a blessed and holy Lent.

Happy Hump Day!

It’s cold outside. 18 degrees feels like 7 with a high of 27 for the day.
At least the sun is shining.

It’s cold in the house too. I don’t know if the furnace can’t keep up, or there is something wrong with the thermostat.
One thing after another lately.

It’s noisy outside, the gas company is doing something out there again today. Beeping trucks, jackhammers, all kinds of noisy stuff going on.

Today is bill paying day, and I need to order groceries to pick up tomorrow.
We need to trim Ripple’s toenails too since we didn’t do it yesterday.
I have to proofread a few assignments for my son.
One of his professors hasn’t graded anything yet, which is very annoying. A little feedback on written assignments is nice so you know if you are doing the right thing.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Happy(?) Ash Wednesday.

Blurfage Today is maid day so I got towels and sheets in the laundry process and started the dishwasher. Blurf

With a temperature of 18 F, I’d bet the furnace can’t keep up. There is a 52 degree temperature difference.

Yeppers; today both me and Beloved Brother are much older than we were yesterday. Of course, being the Evil Twin I get to be much younger than him -------- something I enjoy reminding him of quite a bit.

(we’re 11 years and 3 minutes apart ------- our mother’s cooking being as bad as it is the family never could have survived two cakes a year  )

I think this is the first Ash Wednesday where fasting isn’t a problem for me. (I’m Catholic.) My tooth and gums are still sore from yesterday, and I’m ridiculously paranoid about the temporary crown breaking or falling apart that I’m too scared to eat much. I mean, I’m hungry, but I’m scared. I’m sure once the soreness wears off, I’ll get more of an appetite. But for the next 2 weeks, it’s nothing crunchy or sticky for me lest it wreck the crown.

Morning all. Soccer uniform distribution is on the schedule for this afternoon, temps are going to be just about 40F for the high but Thorsday is supposed to get to 55F, so just maybe we’ll get one day of actual on-the-field soccer in (Friday and Saturday look like rain).

flytrap, my computer is in the room farthest from the Heater, so I bought a little room heater to make up the difference. Toasty.

Shady, amazing how they can time things just when you have to leave the room, isn’t it? Been there, grumbled about it. Must have been a quick ‘one-knock and 10 seconds wait’ type of call. Better luck next time.

FCM, the boat probably looks like this: Wrecked boat in Dungeness by George Fairbairn

Happy Birthday Ruble!

You may be right Flytrap, although I never noticed it before.

It’s getting much noisier outside.
At least Ripple stopped barking at them.

Happy Birthday Ruble

Happy Ruble Day!!!

**MetalMouse **- I finally heard back from the woman - it’s a Columbia 26, but she still didn’t tell me the year. But the last year they made them was '77, so it’s at least 42 years old. If I had a trailer for it, I might consider taking it and working on it in the yard.

Once upon a time, **FCD **and I went to see a boat that was advertised as “rough but ready to sail” - um, no it wasn’t. It was a wooden boat and you could literally see thru the seams in the hull and deck. More like rough and ready to fuel a bonfire.

Yanno, a Ruble = 100 Kopeks…& someone is getting close[del]r[/del] to that number.

I shall partake in the festivities of this auspicious day by eating Oreos.

Happy birthday, Ruble!

“Dentist’s Day” and “Oreo Day”.

99 clones of me -------- even I have to shudder at that thought.

Thanks all!

You know about Rooskie money?

You some kinda pinko Godless commie? :dubious:
