The I do not want to go to work MMP

I change the clocks when I get around to it. Florida is trying to get approval to stay put on DST which suits me just fine. It’s asinine.

I had a rough day in that I feel like I may be getting a cold or it’s just allergies. I cannot be sick. I can’t get hubs sick so I spent the day resting and drinking plenty of fluids. I think it’s just allergies. I hope so anyway.

Happy almost Sunday.

My wife is busy today. She does lots of things on her own. I have the kids, which is just as well.

We’re going to make desks for them so we did the basic drawings. We’ll see how it goes.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 59 Amurrkin out and clear (dark actually) with a predicted high of 81 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted for this afternoon. We shall see. The big plan of the day is deheathenization followed by N.O.L. somewhere. We have some Hardee’s coupons so maybe there. Today bein’ the first Sunday in Lent, we shall pray The Great [del]Monotony[/del]Litany. Goes on for a bit but I like the prayer.

*We beesech thee to hear us, good Lord.
We beesech thee to hear us, good Lord.
We beesech thee to hear us, good Lord.
We beesech thee to hear us, good Lord.
We beesech thee to hear us, good Lord. *

And the good Lord said, enough already I hear ya!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

I did reset the clock radio in the bedroom last night, but I was still confused when I woke up. Then again, the bizarro dream didn’t help that much. But I’ve tended to the critters and changed the clocks in the rest of the house (except the one over the TV because I just now remembered it.) I’ll get the car and my watch eventually.

It’s supposed to get into the 60s today. I’m letting the pellet stove burn out so I can clean it. That’s really my only plan for today. I’ll probably push the vacuum cleaner around a bit. But mostly today will be dedicated to sluggage.

Happy Sunday!

I am awake, dog walked, ibuprofen consumed for the low level headache I have had for a few days but no cold. Just allergies. I have a ton of laundry and need to cook a good meal. I made a pot of chicken and rice yesterday but I need some veggies so I have a pork roast and whatever I can come up with. I may bathe the dog. For now I should get some laundry running.
Happy Sunday all!

Happy Sunday!

It’s a cloudy 39 degrees outside, supposed to warm up into the 60s.
The coming week should be pretty nice temp wise.

I think my son set the clocks ahead, the stove and microwave were correct when I came downstairs. He didn’t say anything to me though.
Sometimes he surprises me by taking charge of something without me having to say anything. He has taken all responsibility for the cat, the cat he didn’t want, the cat he says he doesn’t like. He feeds, waters, and pills him. Which is nice, because the cat will eat the pill for him, but usually gives me a hard time.

Today is dust down the cobwebs day, and if it doesn’t rain, I think another trip to the park.

Still have a clock or two to go but other than that I am about done with that task. I think why I hate this all the more is that unlike the carefree days of my youth every clock changes time differently. Used to be you pulled something out and moved ahead (and is it just me or does that sound dirty) but now you have all these odd combinations of buttons, settings, not going backwards ---- its all just a big pain.

Morning all. Made up for the time change by sleeping until 8:30am on the new time, so feel pretty good. Heading to 68F today and “I can see clearly now, the rain is gone…”.

Need to do some soccer organization using Excel and general housework, but nothing major outside of getting a steak at Longhorn in a couple of hours.

Have a good day, everybody.

The clocks don’t change on this side of the pond for another few weeks. I think. Unless they all did it automatically. That’s happened before (except the oven, which is set to totally the wrong time anyway), without me realising.

It’s really windy here, windy enough that the noise kept waking me up last night. I was going to go check on the bees today, but not if it’s like this; I don’t want to open the hive and blow them all away… Should be better tomorrow.

Today’s plans have been thus edited to doing some shopping (done) then sitting in to try get on with yet more homework. This assignment has altogether too much work involved- I’ve been working on it since last year, and I’m still not even halfway through. I’m speeding up, but it’s still going to be pretty tight to the deadline, if I do a proper job.

The pellet stove is cleaned, refilled, and heating again. Kitchen is more or less tidied. Vacuum cleaner was cleaned (mainly the filters) and I’ve vacuumed the common areas. I gave Roxy some yogurt and strawberries a bit ago, and now her daddy is giving her lunch. **FCD **and daughter are out looking at cars, thinking it might make more sense to trade hers in than fix it.

Just another day at FairyChatEstates…

I just found out one of my cousins died Monday. Nobody told me, and I didn’t see it on fb, so I missed the viewing and funeral. I haven’t been out on fb as much, kind of tired of it. I knew he was not doing well, he had health problems from being exposed to agent orange. I’m going to have to send an apology along with a sympathy card to his wife (who is my cousin by blood, he was a cousin by marriage) and to his two daughters.

I very strongly dislike DST. Our old house has a severe shortage of electrical outlets, so most all of our clocks are battery powered and have to be reset by hand. A waste of time.

Wifey is off painting with some of her sketchy buddies again today, so I’m without adult supervision once again.

Don’t have any plans except that Vinnie and Gibbs are going to the doggy beauty parlor on Wednesday, so I really need to start combing out Vinnie today. He gets his hair into knots and the groomer charges extra if she has to detangle him. Gibbs’ hair is so fine we don’t have to comb him at all, at least.

Nothing else going on today.

I should have another go at the huge pile of papers waiting to go into the filing cabinet(s). The worst offenders are the insurance companies. They send me letters constantly about my medications and how much I’ve spent on them and how much they say they’ve spent on them. If they were really spending that much they’d drop me like a hot potato. It’s all fiction, but I have to save it all in case the IRS ever disputes what I claim for medical expenses and such. I guess.

Or I could get busy on my plan to start a local chapter of Procrastinators Anonymous.

Maybe tomorrow.

swampie, I got out of the Great Litany today because I took my mom to her own church. I was raised there myself but am now Episcopal, not LC-MS. Of course that means that I could not recieve Communion, but hey, my mom enjoyed having people greet her, since she had not been able to get there in some time.

Howdy Y’all! Today’s accomplishments have been deheathenization, N.O.L., nappage, and general sloth. All in all not to shabby. I have even already hauled the biiiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. Go Me!

{{{Sari}}} so sorry about your cousin.

CupCakes you get extra stars in your crown for takin’ your mom to her church this mornin’. The last time my mom was able to go to church, I took her. Like you said with your mom, she was greeted by a lot of folks which made her real happy. That in turn made me happy. So you get extra stars and a happy for doin’ that.

Blurf. And the sneezing continues. So tired of this. I guess I should research an allergist as recommended by ENT over a year ago. Always something. We are thinking about buying a new washer and dryer. Hubs does not want the front loaders just regular top load direct drive washer and a gas dryer. Appliances be expensive.

We have a big poke roast in the oven and some boiled taters and okra and maters. Everything is done except the poke. Oh, and cole slaw.

I do not want to go to irk tomorrow already. Irk I must as I am off on Thursday and Firday for heart procedure. I will be so glad when it’s over and hubs can get back to abnormal. He is getting depressed as he can’t go constantly like he wants to. Will use all the good thoughts, prayers etc.

Off to check that roast.

Buttercup, I have a tissue for you here. Blow.

swampie, weather and her health permitting, I will try once a month or so to do it for her. It is kind of odd to attend there, seeing the similarities and the differences to when I attended before I left home. I saw a guy there, although I did not get a chance to talk to him, whow was in my confirmation class in 1969. When did onery guys like hime turn into pillars of the congregation? And when did they go gray, and get a bald spot?:frowning:

My sympathies on the passing of your cousin sari.

baker, heathen (literally) that I am, when my mom was able to attend and I was up north, I’d take her to mass, especially on Christmas eve. She liked it.

Heathenization in our new location went well, although the sound wasn’t as good as the auditorium where we formerly met. The kids were in the community center’s craft room, so I don’t have to completely avoid putting together a craft that is a bit messy. Our potluck was awesome and something we hadn’t been able to do in our old location. More of the families stayed for the meal than went to the restaurant after services at the old place. All in all a success.

Dinner was a roast of many uncut pork chops and corn; quite good. I had planned to cut it down into a sort of ribs but ------- that didn’t work so we went Plan B. Now its just letting the day unwind and the week to begin.

Real busy at work. More tomorrow.

Sorry about your cousnin, sari.

: sends thoughts, prayers, and virtual cake to Butters and hubby :

Nappage occured this afternoon and I managed to get my whole June/July summer vacation booked under budget this evening (still cost an arm and a leg and part of my spleen…). Also getting prepared for soccer every night this week and twice on Saturday…either I’ll get in some sort of shape or die trying…

Sari, sorry about your cousin. I have one I haven’t seen/talked to in years, he’s out in California and would be in his 70’s now, no idea how he is.

Red, glad things went well at the new locale.

Butters, hope you get to feeling better by Thorsday and the trip/medical stuff.

Cupcakes, like swampy said, good on ya for helping Mom out. For me, I can probably still do a fair Catholic liturgy, but would be pretty much helpless elsewhere.

To all y’all, take care and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.
