Sic her, Swampy!
I slept too long last night and woke up with my back hurting. The Rx pain tab is kicking in. I gimped around to make breakfast, but washing up shouldn’t be as difficult.
Today is the lazy day at CasaRed. I forgot to pick up a shallot for tonight’s chicken piccata, so I’ll make a run to the Pubic Sto’ for one. I do need to chop the fresh oregano that needs to be dried before it goes off, but that won’t take long.
Baker, I loves me a good pumpernickel loaf. Will yours be a pan loaf or a hearth loaf.(I tend to like the hearth loaves better. They have a crustier crust. )
Back from an early N.O.L. at the not too shabby Chinese [del]hog trough[/deel] buffet place. Not rainin’ right now but dreary out.
flytrap who doesn’t enjoy a good cheese parody?
I have ransomed Polly Subaru from the fixit shop and she is driving so much better now that she has a whole new front end. I have to bring it back Monday so they can pass her inspection but for now the car repair saga is on hold until tax time.
Happy Saturday!
It’s warm but foggy outside.
I finally got the puter back to irking normally, and now I know the problem is JaveScript updates.
Much to do and I got a late start.
Back from running about. We had breakfast at Bob’s - first time in a long time. Rogue One was kinda *meh *- very slow, and occasionally really dumb, even for a silly sci-fi movie. Then we made a stop at Wal Mart, FCD’s office, WaWa for gas, and the credit union to drop a check in the night deposit.
The bed’s been stripped and I’ve started laundry. **FCD **is watching football. Just a dreary, boring day underway.
Lots and lots of rain with occasional thunder. We achieved nappage. Chili will be a good thing for dindin. BTW the chili smells nummerific!
First load of laundry done, second in dryer, third in washer. **FCD **is napping. Ribs have been pulled out of the freezer for supper.
Still dreary and overcast - so much for the promised sun.
Having a wonderful Satidday here. :dubious: While Wifey was taking her shower the tub stopped draining. Drain lines were stopped up again. I think I’ve mentioned that we live in a 125 year old house that was built before indoor plumbing. The plumbing was added later, in bits and pieces, possibly by the owners themselves. It defies logical explanation. Anyway, a wet, stinky hour in the yard, in the rain, with my Drain Blaster[sup]tm[/sup] cleared it up. I think. We shall see when I take my shower.
Whoever invented that device was a genius and I hope he/she got rich. (Technically it’s called a drain bladder iffen you want to look it up.)
Caldo verde soup was okay last night, but lacking something. I used linguica and we think I shoulda used chorizo for the added spice.
Happy Birthday BigKitty! 37? I think I may have to hate you now.
(I’ll be 70 in June. At 37 I was one year into my first marriage.)
I don’t know what’s for dinner yet, but if I can find some poke chops in the freezer it’ll be poke chops and sauerkraut with a side of something.
Hee! Our county doesn’t require DEQ vehicle inspections. We’re also in Orygun wine country, so that’s two reasons to live here.
Mom, I did two loads of laundry last night.
I was 37 when I got pregnant. He was born 2 days before I turned 38.
That seems so long ago.
Just ordered pizza here. I don’t know why, laziness I guess.
We’re going out for supper - not sure what we’ll have. But I don’t have to cook, so yay!
Chili and cornbread have been ingested. The rain has stopped for now and the sun is even peekin’ out. More rain on the way however.
Supper will be roasted chicken, taters, coleslaw and whatever other veggie hubby decides on. I got the chicken on already.
So the newest battle is how big the crowd was yesterday:smack::smack::smack::smack:
How will we survive four years of that whiny man-boy?
It’s hearth loaves. Too bad I can’t send you one, I’m chewing on a piece now, with some soft butter spread on.
We ate at Leonardtown Grille. I gut the grilled tuna steak. yumyumyumyumyum! I’s stuffded!
Laundry is all folded and stowed. Time to resume the afghaning position.
We have a lull in the rain. The next round should start by around eleven accordin’ to TWPTB. We shall see. Shortly we shall retire to the boudoir to watch teevee. What can I say. It gets wild on Sattidy evenin’ around here.
swampy, did you see where carnivorousplant tried to sic you on me?
I love Gordie. His picture is about the only thing I check, if I check anything on Facebook. His silly antics keep me amused.
This only my opinion mind, and this is just a word, I’m just going to put it here ------> VERMIN. If you do catch anything, drop it miles away. Seriously, miles. They’re worse than homing pigeons. Wild rats are really not the same thing are domesticated pets. Somehow I think you know this. You are a good husband.
I have spent the day setting up a new 30 gallon fish tank. We allowed the kids to pick out their favorite fish from our old 100 gallon tank in CA. My son picked a big goldfish, which has been miserably surviving in the 10 gallon tank I used to bring him up here. 30 gallons looks about right. I’ve over-filtered the heck out of it, and hopefully he’ll be fine. Took a while though.
Now I need to figure out dinner. Usually when I ask everyone, they all have something in mind. Today it’s all blank stares and shrugs. I think it will be enfrijoladas, with fresh tortillas. We are out of beer (), but I shall persevere somehow.
Happy Birthday Big Kitty!
Took advantage of global warming today and got the Sportie out and just sort of roamed around for a few hours. No plans, no destination, just blew the dust off us both. All in all a nice day although I am clearly too soon for the top of page 5.
I worked, the Canes lost, it was foggy all day. Technically it was my Moanday, and it showed.
Sunny, Gordie appreciates your admiration for his insanity.
