We have a rat.
This post has absolutely nothing to do with #161.
But I digress.
We have a rat in the house. Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) knows that rats make good pets, describes him as cute, so we can’t kill him.
I have set up a havaheart live trap downstairs in the fish room; he hasn’t gone in.
Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) first saw him upstairs, eating dog food. The cats have staked out the dishwasher and the refrigerator.
We plan to set the havaheart up in the kitchen this weekend. I mentioned, "I hope I remember to disarm it before I let the dogs out. They might stick their snout inside the trap, set it off and have the door smack them on the head.
Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) mused for a moment and then reflected, “It might help.”
Pizza, hot wings, and sallit have been ingested. ‘Tis rainin’. Dell finally sent me a FedEx shippin’ label. Now if I can get new wireless printer to talk to old 'puter I can print the label and send new ‘puter back to get a hard drive installed. I’ve been dealin’ with this issue for a week. I am so ready to get it done.
I managed to duck out a couple of hours early. Groceries are bought, some patio time surfing the net was spent and supper from the gyro place down the street is half et. I don’t think I’ll get takeout there again. The schwarma is pretty salty.
It’s Sunday. I’ll be 37. That will make some of you feel Olde.
Today I took Polly in for a fixit, got a loaner car, drove the loaner to Dad’s house, got several boxes out of my old room and every non-religious book off the bookshelf, and drove home. While I was out the plumbers were in, so I missed all that fun.
Now I have to go through all this stuff. But not tonight because I’m tired.
We have a break in the rain now but more is on the way overnight. So nice to sleep when it’s rainy out.
So it’s a Rainy Night in Georgia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFatAWbKow4 ?
Dammit, my ear worm was William Blake’s poem Jerusalem, interpreted by Emerson, Lake and Palmer.
One of them just died.
I hope that you are proud of yourself.
:dubious:
It’s ok now, I listened to it, and am waiting for my chariot of fire.
Well, I love a rainy night!
Wait no more.
You’re welcome!
Heck, I know a couple Amish who went to the community they have in Costa Rico. There are odd groups and splits and family groups all over the globe. Especially after the 90s with the rising cost of farm land, kids being lured to the English world, and being tired of us evil heathens gawking at them, the jungles of Brazil looked like a good idea.
Watched a lot of the stuff in DC today until say 3pm when I left for work. I’m still kinda in shock but the reality is starting to slowly sink in.
 What will you do with it/him/they? Is she planning on keeping it?
Nope, not me. Still living over here, in denial. Had a few close calls, but managed to avoid reality all day. Toying with looking into that Pacific Island Treaty though…
Higgs is on my list. I was sleeping comfy last night when she and Taz decided to get into it. I don’t know who instigated, but it was Higgs’ noise that woke me. Stoopit dog. Then I woke again when **FCD **came to bed, and again from a stoopit dream, and again with FCD’s twitching hand on my shoulder. I was as far as I could get to the edge of the bed so I wound up pushing his hand back and skootching down in the bed out of reach. How can a king size bed not be big enough, you ask? Well, because of his back, he sleeps between 2 of those long body pillows. That takes up more than half of the mattress real estate.
So I’s tahred…
The plan for today is to get breakfast, then go see Rogue One, then run a couple of errands before coming home to do laundry. Good times. Rain is supposed to start tonight and continue thru Monday night, so sogginess ahead.
I started a new afghan last night - it’ll be ripples in shades of pink - no specific order to the pinks - just whatever I grab next. I started the 3rd band before I headed to bed. We’ll see how much I get done this weekend.
Big Kitty - 37 was the age when I felt like an adult for the first time. Dunno why, but that year it hit me that I wasn’t a kid any more. Which makes sense, since my kid was 6 that year.
Happy Saturday, such as it is.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Gordie has already fought off one attack by The Invisible Mole People this morning.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 67 Amurrkin out and foggy with a predicted high of 72 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse for the day, tonight, and tomorrow. Moanday the high will be in the 50s. Weather by Sybil indeed! Ima make chili in the slow cooker today just cause. We’re goin’ to the not too shabby Chinese [del]hog trough[/del] buffet place for N.O.L. A gnawin’ and a cravin’ exists so we shall take care of that. Dindin shall be chili and cornbread. An excitatin’ Sattidy here at da cave.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. I suppose I should also purtify before venturin’ out. Life is so hard!
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
I’ll be baking bread today. A bread baking group has organized at my church, we meet twice a month. Today will be pumpernickel. After that I’ll take a long walk with Nathan, I haven’t been able to devote as much time to him as I should, between work and crappy weather. A pleasant Saturday is in store.
Actually two of them have fallen to 2016’s scythe.
Blurf up earlier than I want to be. I don’t know what today holds in store. I am proud to say I didn’t even watch a minute of the farce in DC. Did not read anything about it on the net either. I may tune in today to get some Women’s March news.
I made it yesterday until 1530 and came home, dropped off the dog and went to the grocery store for two items, butter and salad dressing. Spent $66. :smack: Last night was steak night and wine. Was good.
My car is in dire need of cleaning but I am not that ambitious.
Happy Day All!
carnivorousplant, if you like Jerusalem, you really need to listen to this!
Funny as all get out, I think, a fantastic parody.Take him to the place I own out in the woods, or let him go in a very large park here.
