The Imsomniac MMP

Showers on and off but I still got the Sportie in for its yearly check-up, went shooting, had dinner and did some shopping. I’m over-achieving today!

doggio, I have to ask: what is tomato bachelor food and how does it differ from standard bachelor chow?

Welcome aboard, Viking!

Today is typical month end. Hurry up and wait. I’m currently waiting on the yahoos who I’ve been after all month to get their poop in a group and turn their stuff in to me so that I can hurry up and close it out. I’ve given a list to my supe to run interference on a couple of the more stubborn ones. :stuck_out_tongue:

The boy moved a chair so he could climb up and take a framed photo of a giraffe from the wall. Now he’s tapping and swiping the glass, trying to unlock it to play games.

Bachelor Chow is just like Bachelor Food, just seasoned with synonym.

Welcome, Viking!

I shall be seeking an opportunity to use this expression!!

Welcome Viking!

Boss came in, didn’t say a thing to me . I’m not in now til next week, by which time, with any luck, I will be working my notice anyway, so pthbbbt to that.

Dindin should be in the process of happenin’ at the moment, but it doesn’t appear to be doing so. I made the foolish mistake of sitting down and going onto t’internet when I got home rather than getting started making fuds, and now I’m hungry but can’t be bothered to cook.
Anyone fancy coming over and cooking for me?

Where did that tumbleweed come from?

I have been alternately busy and not busy, but too lazy to do much at work. And I suddenly just got incredibly tired. Considering calling in sick to dance class tonight. Just because I’s sleepified.

I went out to the cee-mint pond for a while. 'Tis warm out but not stoopid hawt so it was nice. The water is definitely cooler which felt good.

Nuts I saw some tumbleweed in the back yahd earlier. 'Tis the time of year for that round these parts.

Have I mentioned lately that I hate your guts?

Not really, it’s one step forward and two steps back. One day I went to pet him and he lifted up his head to me. The next day he hid again.

We have flash flood warnings out here. I shouldn’t have any trouble here and I’m not planning on going out. We have to go out tomorrow because Sah-son has a test at the college, and then another test next week.

Vikings are Norwegian. Olentzero (and hi, BTW! Good to see you!) is clearly in Sweden. Therefore, I vote for Meatball.

All hail Viking (and fetching sets of zeroes in contracts!) And good luck with the residency bit.

Finally got all wardrobes squared away for next weekend’s wedding, except for shoes for Girl 2.0. She has some that will be fine with her dress, but since the same frock is doing double duty for homecoming, she wants something fancier than her usual ballet flats. Future sister-in-law was nice (or too busy,) so I’m not being forced to go to a damned line dance class, so hooray! (Also, my dress. I love it as much as I hated the first one I bought.)

Now I just need to make a vat of some kind of dip for the shindig - the dinner is catered, but Ma and I are providing late-night noshes for the drinking and dancing crowd. I’m thinking “Texas caviar,” (a salsa-type dip with black-eyed peas and/or black beans,) with tortilla chips, and Madre is making her cream cheese spinach dip. Both pair well with beer, and I can make the dip a day ahead instead of trying to prep during the frenzy of “Honey, where’s my belt?” and “Mommy, can you brush my hair?” and “Mom, Michelle got into my makeup again!”

Now to dinner tonight. Something with chicken, 'cause that’s what I thawed. Maybe fettuccine Alfredo?

No, no, no. You’re reading the wrong line on the cue cards again. That’s what we say to you.

That could work but you may be too late. Wikipedia says I’m right, though as some were Swedish.

Oh, I like Meatball! An inspired nickname!

Home. Our basement flooded overnight - poor **FCD **had to use the wet vac to suck it all up. He’s got fans going now in an attempt to dry it out. We need to get a few sandbags to put against our basement door whenever heavy rain is forecast.

My lunch was so very filling, there’s no way I’ll have supper tonight. I made up some egg salad for my sweetie at his request, so his supper is done. I may have something light later, but for now, I’s still stuffded.

I’m having a serious blurf. I took the sprog to the dentist today for his semi-annual checkup. I’m taking the sprog back to the dentist for his semi-annual filling on the 18th. :smack: I can hardly wait to find out how much this is going to cost, even with insurance.

Irk is a little less irksome. I think I’m finally starting to get it. I think. Maybe.

I have no idea what’s for dinner.

Blurf.

Dindin via cleanin’ out da fridge was not too shabby. It was all little bits of this and that put on a plate and nuked. I now have many, many cleaned little plastic containers.

I hate cleaning little plastic containers.

I’m lazy, I just stick the pot in the fridge.

I started getting the local newspaper today. Which means I have comics and Ask Amy, and I have newspaper bags to in which to deposit dirty kitty litter. They work much better than grocery bags which always have little holes in the bottom.

Blurf. I am so over this week. And tomorrow is the end off the FY so that creates all kinds of irk for me. At least my company leaves in the morning. It will be nice to be back to normal. I am tahred though and irritable. Get off my lawn!

I finally got a weekend subscription to the paper, because I finally did math! (It costs the same to have Saturday and Sunday delivery, plus a digital subscription to all daily editions, as buying the Sunday paper only at the store. And that’s just a monthly renewable, so I’m not locked in if the publisher makes me mad and I decide not to give him my money!)

Finally think we have the rear lights fixed on the truck - after replacing everything that could be replaced, one piece at the time. It was a switch in the turn signal arm, apparently, shorting out the whole setup every few weeks. Not cheap to fix, since it involved going into the steering column, but cheaper than a wreck because we lacked rear lights!

And Vorlon, you are correct: I started looking at new televisions, and a 55" LG on Amazon is the very same price as the 40" Vizio I bought in 2009. The bigger TV will be good in this living room, too, since it’s much larger than the previous - it will be nice to be able to see the channel guide without walking across the room! (And The Boy probably can monkey around and make the old one work. If so, he can have it for his apartment, or I’ll give it to a young friend who just bought a house.)

Meanwhile, I’m going into the vintage/antique business in a small way - getting rid of Mama’s and Grandmother’s good junk that no one wants, and some of my own. Renting a booth at my friends’ shop. So tomorrow, I’m going to what appears to be a very promising estate sale out in the country, for a little more stock. Wish me luck!

I contacted the head of the UN but my Korean is rusty so I followed it up with a call to the most famous Swede I know, His response is:
