Munching leftovers from last night’s dinner (miniature emperor catered), since I need to get to bed early. Must be at irk at 0500 tomorrow (retch). At least I’m off at 1400. (Normal schedule is 0900-1800 my time. For some deranged reason, when the last calendar day of the month falls on a weekday, we must shift over to match the times kept by our East Coast colleagues.)

OK, I’ve had quite enough rain, TYVM! Everything in the house feels damp. Our bath towels don’t dry completely overnight. The carpet feels not-quite-dry. Same with the bed sheets. And the furniture. Tomorrow, we’re promised sun. I sure hope so.
**FCD **is teaching himself to do pinstriping. He has a lot more patience than I do, but he’s also a better artsy-fartsy painter than I am. I, on the other hand, am a better wall painter than he is. So there’s balance of some sort there.

We had a thunderstorm early. Princess Pretty Paws urgently need to go out, till he saw the ground was wet, then he settled for 2 minutes of pacing in the stairwell. Making spicy Egg Foo Breakfast, and doing my laundry.
A very simple task got really ugly really fast. I was just supposed to change the drawing forms of 4 drawings I’d done ages ago. Three were easy-peasy. The 4th one, for some reason, had all of its manufactured parts deleted, so all that remained were circuit breakers and assorted hardware floating in space. Luckily, I had accurate PDFs of the assembly, so I’ve been rebuilding it. And a 2-minute job has taken an hour so far, with at least another 90 minutes to go.
Good times!!! Glad I can have a lunch break. I need it.

I’d bought 4 little cakes earlier this week, because I couldn’t decide which one I wanted. They’re small - just 4" each. So I shall have a piece of each, and stash the rest in the freezer. Later. After chinese food.

Howdy Y’all! Laundry is complete and I have a poke roast in the slow cooker. Go Me! That, baked sweet N.O.T., flytrap’s favorite succotash, and rolls shall be dindin.
Also, tomorrow afternoon I am headed up to Ye Olde Home Towne for two or three days. So if’n I’m AWOL that’s why. Tomorrow mornin’ I shall be at the church house to help with some yahd stuff. Trimmin’ some trees, puttin’ down pine straw, trimmin’ hedges etc. There will be a good crew there so I’m guessin’ two to three hours and it’ll all be done. Lookin’ forward to some time with the family so that’ll be a fun time.

Handing in of notice and sucklike has already begun, and I start next Thursday for reals. It’s solo much less hectic than old place. Most of the customers are regulars, half of them just ask for “the usual”, so it’s going to take me a little while…
Celebrated by helping some friends move into their new flat, and shoppage will commence shortly (today is also payday). I may get a celebratory takeaway first

Well, Fall has arrived…fast. Last Firday it was nearly 95F; today it has barely reached 67F. Actually was moderately ambitious, did the main grocery shopping for October and got a haircut…yeah me. Then came home and found one of the soccer games I was due to referee on Saturday is going to be played this evening at 5:30pm. I can do that, just glad I checked my e-mails. Early to bed tonight, our game is at 0830 Saturday, and I have to pick team pictures at 0730. Oh joy.
