The Independence Day MMP

Did I miss something; I thought at one point you stated he went out on his own, but then you stated you’d be able do draft for him on a company issued laptop, which implies he still works for big firm.

Thundering here now. Dinner momentarily.

The fireworks in my town have begun. I can actually see part of them from my patio. Nelson has been panic barking. I have a feeling that he’ll take a lot of comforting over the next couple of days.

It appears that someone else has stolen “God Save the King.”
I just heard, on “Classical Music Light” from Comcast, Hummel, Fruendenfast overture.
Upon Googling, it appears that stealing GSTK was a national past time.
I had believed that the theft was limited to the USA song, “My Country Tis of Thee”.

Folks have begun shooting fireworks a day early as darkness approaches. The livestock does not seemed unduly concerned.

Worked, went to the laundromat, walked Gordie ,napped. Got an email, my replacement shift that has been Shanghaied to work at other stores is going out on maternity leave.:smack: Just as well, my 10yer old TV s dying, and I don’t want to spend vacation beer money on it.

Its too damn hot
It was “offically” 96 today. The thermostat on the Volvo said it was 114 in da Hood. Damn hot

Happy Birthday Shayla and Poe!

{{{{Nelson}}}} misred, I’ve been lucky. All my dogs don’t care about loud noises.(apart from the Poms upstairs).

Maybe they’re Catholic.
Just got home from fireworks. Looks like my 'speriment worked so I should be good for tomorrer night’s biiiggg fireworks show.

Strangeness continues at Da Jungle. Even with the 10k left from yesterday the total today was 59k. Not for our shift ----- for the whole bleeding day. Our shift was 9k. They VTOed over half before we even clocked in and pushed VTO the entire night and still it was basically make/scut work from 7 until they finally decided to call it as over at 9:30. There were maybe a dozen of us left. Which means everyone who left loses the 18-hour-promise pay since VTO takes that one off the table.

There will be many unhappy new people next week when this pay gets processed.

Happy early 4th, everyone! Many years ago, we started used the 4th as an extra vacation day and have continued that for years, so tomorrow will be a morning on the beach, back to house to fix food, 4ish will start the community party in the cul de sac in front of the house, the cornhole tourney is a newer addition and fun, then back to beach to watch the Duck fireworks to the south and Corolla to the north…

Good morning, and Happy 4th.

I had to end up doping one of our dogs, around midnight, last night. Shayna was a shaking, shivering, sniveling mess, because of the fireworks. I sat up with her until she finally went to sleep on her bed. Good grief. That poor baby. I detest fireworks. Bah.

This morning, I’ll be venturing out to buy a pressure canner. I cook up all sorts of soups, and stews, for my husband to take with him, on the road. He’s an OTR truck driver. Anyway, these soups are filling up our freezer, and I would like to get away from that. So, I need a pressure canner, so I can can those things. I have never used one, as I’m scared to death of them. I guess I’ll be learning, hands-on! I predict carnage. Time will tell.

I’ll be making the pupcakes for Shayna, and Poe’s, birthday. Which is today. They really enjoy those things.

I suppose I should get the day started. First, coffee.

Happy 4th everyone. Up early as usual and working through a few cups of coffee.

I’m enthusiastic about the reason for the holiday, but sick of the fireworks. I have a few neighbors who think setting off a howitzer explosion at 2 am is just spiffy. The city claims to be cracking down on this, and I’m prepared with all the phone numbers to respond to said 2am ordinance.

As far as the day, it’s a holiday for me, so a few morning chores, a few hours on the lake perfecting my techniques of low-level fuel annihilation, then the requisite BBQ on the deck.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work, doing a double today.

To my American friends:

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY

To my English firends:
HAPPY “SOD OFF BLOODY COLONIALS” DAY!

And finally:
HAPPY? BIRTHDAY Flytrap!!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN Actually been up for a while but messin’ around doin’ some prep stuff for today’s cee-mint pond shindig. ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and cloudyish with a predicted high of 89 and a sixty percent chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. We shall see. Not a lot left to do before folks arrive. At some point I need to put the watermelons in the biiiiiiiiiiiiig cooler and dump ice on top of ‘em for chillage. Warmin’ up the ribs in the oven and warmin’ up the chikin in the slow cooker are the only two other tasks to be done.

To all the Amurrkin Mumpers

HAPPY
FOURTH
OF
JULY!!!
KA*BOOM!!!

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy is hungry. Then I suppose I should purtify and make ready for company.

Happy Hump/Independence Day Y’all!

Happy Hump Day!
Happy 4th of July

Happy Birthday Flytrap!
Going to be a hot, humid, cloudy day today. Supposed to get rain this evening.
Hopefully enough rain to keep the rowdy neighbors indoors.

It’s just another day around here.
I’m irking as usual, the dog has been let out and back in, the cat has been let in and back out.

Happy Birthday to the pups!

Have a safe trip FCM!

Happy Celebrations to those who are celebrating today!

Thank you, Sahirrnee.

Happy Birthday, Flytrap!

Happy birthday, Flytrap!

Happy Sod Off Bloomin’ Colonials Day!

Or, of course, Happy 4th July, Happy Wednesday, Camel Day, Pub Day or any other kind of day, depending on what you want to celebrate…

Off to herd students for graduation photos now, I am armed with my biggest pointiest stick!

Happy Flytrap Day!

**Spidey **- **FCD **does have his own company, and so far, his former (and my current) employer has been his sole client, which is probably good, because he can’t handle any more work right now. The original plan was for him to submit his design models to the company for drafting, but since I’m a drafter and I’m right here - duh! And the reason I’m using the laptop at home is that the group that gets this stuff is on Creo 4.0 and my stoopit office is still on 3.0 - otherwise, I could do it all at my desk as time permits.

See - perfectly logical!!

We’ll be leaving in a bit over an hour, assuming daughter and SIL drag their butts out of bed soon. I just finished deviling the egg innards, and I’ll assemble it all at Mom’s.

I also had to clean cat pee off the couch - fortunately, **FCD **put down a big plastic tablecloth over it, so it was easy to wipe up. I guess that’s how Taz expressed his displeasure at all the critters in “his” house. Stoopit cat. But I’d rather wipe down a sheet of plastic than deal with pee-soaked upholstery.

Anyway, Happy Sparkler Day!! (No fireworks here, please, thanks.)

Blurf. That’s all I got.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Dogbutt and Spiderboy, let me make my annual confession that I lied to Facebook about just about everything, including my birthday.
We now resume our MMP.

Well, then, I take it back. :stuck_out_tongue:
