The international candy exchange

I interrupt this candy fest to ask an actual candy related question.
Are Swedish Fish Actually Swedish?

Thank you.

We have a very tasty, pretty famous local candy I’d be happy to send around.

Count me in!

My mother likes Necco Wafers. She even likes certain colors better than others. :dubious:

The only Necco treat that I go for is the Sky Bar. Yum.

I’m in! I had a lot of fun with the CAN-AM candy exchange earlier this year.

Well, believe it or not, the different colors are different flavors. Most of the ones, I can’t tell, but the brown is clearly chocolate, the white is clearly a mint of some kind, and the purple is obviously feces…err, um, I mean clove.

Yes. Here we just call them fish. Just kidding, but yes, they are Swedish (we call them the type of fish they are). In addition to the Swedish Fish as you know them, you can also get them in salt licorice flavor. An interesting fact is that they are now actually manufactured in Canada since some time in the 90s (by Malaco, a Swedish company), so perhaps are no longer as Swedish as they once were. And, Malaco were also unable to prove that their fish design was special enough to warrant it being trademarked.

And, LilyoftheValley, I would be willing to bet that you are the now probably the only person who gets my name. And, if I get paired with you I would be more than willing to send you some Kexchoklad. My personal favorite candy here is Bilar, which whoever gets me will be receiving.

Ultraviolet, I’ll send you an email now. I’m sure I can find some money around here to send a package especially if I will be getting some nice candy in return.

Pink is Wintergreen (worst. mint. evar). Orange is orange. Black is licorice. Green is …? Chalk?

I’m in. I’m American, and I’m fascinated with all things Australian, so I’d love to be matched up with a G’Doper.

I’m in!

Oooh! Me, me too!

The colors and flavors are:

From here.

Sorry, guys. Our hot water heater shot craps & our budget is stretched super tight for a while. And I was really looking forward to sending some weird American candy, too. :frowning:

Swedish Fish are now Canadian.
That’s so wrong.

When is the cut off for this clambake and To-Be-Mailed-By? I am seriously jonesing to hit a small mom and pop candy store in our area that has some nice thingies.

Also, if anyone has any allergies to peanuts, they may want to mention it.

I’m in…

One bump to see if there’s any more interest in the exchange. If there are still people who have posted to the thread, but not e-mailed me with their location, please do. I’m going to start matching people up fairly soon, but want to give one last chance for those who maybe didn’t see the thread first time.

Just thought I’d send this back to the top. I responded in the other International Candy thread but I’d hate to miss out 'cos I failed to reply in the Official International Candy Exchange thread.

Okay, I’ll start matching people up tomorrow night. I don’t think we’ll get any new participants now. Unfortunately, it looks like the Americans who replied later on in the thread will be out of luck. Hopefully next time we’ll have a more equitable distribution.

Wait, wait, I want in… is it too late?

I can contribute South African candy… I mean, how cool is that?

HEY!

TellmeI’mnot crazy did you just get back from your vacation?

Tell me all about it.

Nope, no vacation here, I’m planted firmly on South African soil, for time indefinite…
