The "I've finished the rhubarb pies" MMP

Home from deheathenization. I just et a sammich for N.O.L. All consumin’ of edibles will be via the forage method today. It’s hawt out and I ain’t in cook mode. Matter of fact I feel nap mode comin’ on soon. Hope we do get some rain, but I will not hold my breath and wait.

I can biscuit! Let me know if we’re doing this recipe thingie. I have a collection of recipes collected from everyone from my great-great’s to various magazines to plain old invented. I’m definitely in.

I have spent most of the week cowering and freaking out about the move. With a side trip to the neurologist.

The move: must be out of the house by end of this week. Contractor and painter will come through and touch up a few things. One floor will be refinished. House will be staged. Goal: list in 1-2 weeks after we’re out. FREAKING OUT. It’s hard for me to get out of bed some days, let alone do this. So, we’re hiring movers. OK. It can be done. I think.

Neurologist: Botox attempt, again. Higher dose. We’ll see if it helps. While I was there, he said he wanted to try a different medication just in case the headache wasn’t a migraine, but was something else. Almost 4 years in, and someone is finally thinking about whether I have another condition. I started crying. Anyway, the medication that was supposed to work instantly, if it worked, did not work. It did get me thinking. I’m going to talk to my other specialist about this overall idea. Could I have an overlaying condition and the migraines both?

The shooting news was sad. I went to the thread and that was sad too. People are clearly sad and shaken and snapping at each other. Calls for reason were being ignored. I just backed out.

Dog goes in for liver tests tomorrow. We’ll see if he’s seriously ill or just old. Damn, I’m depressing today. :frowning:

Laundry is done and put away, Gordie has been walked again, and I swept around the front door. I’m heading out in a bit to watch the Stanley Cup Game 6 with some of my Booster Club friends.

Go Sharks!

Howdy Y’all! Nappage was achieved, followed by general sloth. Then we went to that paragon of fine dinin’ known as Three Squares Diner bein’ as OYKW had a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for their hamburger steak with onion gravy, which I will admit is pretty dang good. I had a club sammich with fries. Now we’s back at da cave and chillin’. Hawt as it is out inside is the place to be right now.

{{{Sunny}}}

So, swampy, how long before OYKW will join you in retirement slothitude? Or are you going to keep him working so he can continue to pick up the tab when you go out to eat??

We went to DQ and as a result, we didn’t want supper, so I’ll rotiss the chickie for tomorrow.

Apart from that and watering my gardens, it’s been a slothful afternoon. Good end to the weekend, I guess.

I’ve been trying to nap all day since I was up all night, but that is not to be. The dog is still jumping up barking and yelping and needs to go out every 2 hours.
I’m debating going to the emergency vet, but they didn’t find anything last time. I’m trying to keep getting aspirin in him, he’s doing that funny walk he does when he has a Shar Pei Fever episode. His back is roached, his hind legs are stiff, but he isn’t running a fever and he hasn’t ‘lost his muzzle’. He’s eating and drinking - so I don’t know what else to do for him.

Irk called and woke me up, they wanted me to log in.
I wanted to irk several hours today, but I can’t have a noisy background and I never know when the dog is going to act up again. I hope he is over this by tomorrow.

I had chicken stuffed with broccoli and cheese for dinner, french fries on the side.

The windows are open, there is a wonderfully cool breeze coming in.

**sari **- I envy your open windows - it’s still 80 here, but it’s dropped a fair bit. Hoping I can open our windows before bedtime.

We just took a look at our budget and our “income stream” spreadsheet that includes our annuities when they kick in, SS, and miscellaneous other things. I’m thinking I might just talk to my boss about working part time, giving me a 3-day weekend every week. Very tempting. I haven’t decided for sure, but it’s good to know I have options.

Tomorrow I need to make an appointment with our financial guy since we had to break the last one due to FCD’s back nonsense. I think we can make some decisions after consulting him. Meanwhile, back to the grind tomorrow. Any weekend that includes DQ can’t be all bad, right?

(((Bobbbio)))

MOOOOOM OYKW will be 62 in January (remember I robbed the cradle :D) but says he wants to go until 65 when Medicare will kick in. He knows he has the option to retire come January if’n he wants so he’s glad for that. So we shall see.

Still no rain and still hawt. Tomorrow’s high is supposed to be 98 Amurrkin! Add in the heat index and 'twill be well over a hunnert. A day to stay indoors if’n at all possible.

Moooom, before my mom got realllly fuzzy, she used to call me like that. Sometimes I miss that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Glad you had a good time rossie.

Heathenized today. Our moment of silence was in memory of the victims in Orlando. It’s highly unusual for that part of the meeting to have any suggestions attached except the science item on the screen (we’re geeks and it’s ammoment if silence/science).

Have a good week.

I hear thunderboomers from a far. Here’s hopin’ that means sump’n bein’ as it’s from the south/southwest.

On that note we shall now retire to the boudoir for sleepy time. Both of us are sleepified.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

ddsun, I hope your dog gets better.

Well the Pens won, and the player on the Pens who should have been the MVP got cheated in favor of Cindy Crosby.:mad:

FCM, if i went to a financial advisor it would go like this:

Me: <hands over financial paper>
Advisor: “Have you considered being eaten by wolves in the next 15 minutes?”

Wait — ain’t it Monday? Damn got to go back and look again.
