butters, you can throw the nanners in the freezer with the skin still on. They will turn black, but they’ll be nice and squishy when you accumulate enough for a batch of banana bread.
gotti, that absolutely sucks. It seems that the insurance companies throw this stuff at you when you’re at your most vulnerable.
It’s the cafe in the public library, on 10th street. We are not a library business, we lease the space from the library, which owns the major equipment.
Swampy, once I finish paying the current bills, the next gallon of milk will probably be from the food bank! (And I won’t be able to send The Boy, 'cause of his insurance rate hike. His no-ticket bump into a 2004 Ford Expedition a few months ago cost State Farm less than $400. Now SF wants $2300 per year to insure him for basic liability on his 1995 Toyota. Time to get quotes!)
Confirmed it with HR, who agrees it’s lousy, but it’s what the Big Blue Meanie does.
All of this having to be a rational, responsible adult sucks. Not that I wasn’t either of those last month, but being suddenly plunged into having to update car insurance, the DMV, cell phone service, bank accounts…
At least getting rid of the creaky, clanky old truck with the recently mashed-in side was easy and buying its replacement was far faster than I ever would have guessed. I’d looked up the KBB estimated tradein value for it, and the dealership offer was only $500 under that, so I didn’t feel like quibbling as they didn’t mention the on or off at its whim in-dash audio/navigation system. That thing started acting up last Saturday when I left the hospital to meet the hospice people. Probably just a loose plug. If you had nearly 125,000 miles, you’d have some loose plugs too!
GOTTI It is still wrong IMO. At my irk one cannot make changes until “open season”. Should be the same for them…
So, should I put the nanners in a zip lock or something or just loose with the skins on? I ain’t up for peeling them or anything.
I had leftovers for dinner but hubs went out as I told him he was on his own. I went back downhill feeling bad again. Wheezy, stuffy head, tired. Pitiful I am. I am usually a night owl but am about to call it a day. We did get a smidge of rain here but I am so disappointed in this non storm. I hope folks in its path don’t have too much rain. Peaches and Dogggioooo are gonna get it I think.
Butters I’d put 'em in a bag but I’m OCD that way.
And on that note we shall now retire to the boudoir for the evenin’. I shall be sleepified shortly in spite of my day of sloth with spurts of domestication. My sinuses do feel better so there’s that.
It is all about insurance companies making money.
When the doctor charged more than the insurance company would pay, they used to have to eat it. Now I do, they will me for what the insurance company will not pay.
High School reunions; I disliked most of those bastards at the time, and have no desire to see them again.
Butters, definitely seal the nanners in something like a zipper bag or plastic tub. Otherwise, in a frost-free freezer, you’ll have mummified fruit - not a pretty sight!
(And we don’t have a rainfall total yet, but the last time I checked the nearest weather station report, today’s accumulation was above 2 inches. Supposed to clear on the morrow, and I need to get out and empty all the mosquito breeding pools immediately - here, at the vacant house next door, and at old Mr. A’s house across the road. Fortunately, we spotted the beaver dam in progress down in the creek, and evicted the rodent before he built an unpermitted pond in the woods!)
peaches, SF doubled my insurance after a fender bender in which they had to pay no claim. Last month I began to shop around for another carrier and lo and behold, they now want to review my coverage. I think it was the inquiry to Progressive, where they give you the top five rates, that did it.
Grumble. (Sobs quietly into ice cream about Sharks.)
Realtors coming through tomorrow to give me check list on what needs to be done before I can list. I know what needs to be done. I just don’t have enough spoons/energy to get it all done. Grocery shopping and laundry took me down today. Normally I’d only try one job done a day. I’ll be hiring out a lot more this move. Fortunately for us, the real estate market here is completely insane, so we should cover any expenditures, and we already own the house in Oregon, so we don’t need to worry about finding a house there.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffienated, and purtified so no YAWN. ‘Tis 75 cloudy and muggy Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 93 and partly cloudy. We’re goin’ for a <snerk> Quickie <snerk> brekkie hence the ready to go status.
I hear rumblin’s from the bedroom so that means OYKW is now all purtified. Good, cause I’s hongry!
In a bit, I’ll be calling a Dr about my neck/arm/shoulder. It’s getting worse despite my best efforts, so it’s time to call in the pros. dammit. I have ZERO leave, so if I can’t get a late appointment, I’ll either have to go without pay or work extra to make up for it. dammit.
On the happier side, the new dryer is being delivered today, theoretically between 1-3. I know **FCD **will be there, because the car is in for an oil change and I have the truck. As long as he doesn’t take a nap…
