The "I've finished the rhubarb pies" MMP

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work in a bit.

{{{{Butters}}}} You had quite a day.

Butters, I hope today is better. Worry can be exhausting.

Wow, Butters, you can’t seem to catch a break! Here’s hoping your life settles down a bit.

I just took my first 2 pills. Then one after lunch, one after supper, and 2 at bedtime. One fewer every day till they’re all gone. I hope they work - **FCD **has been thru this sort of thing twice and it didn’t help him at all. But then he had different problems. So, what does “crazy” mean WRT steroids? Am I going to be dancing the macarena in McDonald’s in my underwear??

Among my weird dreams last night was one where **FCD **and I were driving along some winding roads and suddenly we drove off a cliff and were gently floating on the way down. I was screaming “We’re gonna die! We’re gonna die!” then I woke up - not particularly restful…

But I’ve breakfasted. Now I need to clean the cat box, then head to the office.

Happy Thursday, all!

I like your uni’s Admissions Department!

I’m currently trying to sign up for French at the Official Language School. I had signed up for the may tests, but mine was when I was sick as a dog; I didn’t even remember the exam. There is another round of sign-ups, but again there is the problem of the whole system being designed under the assumption that students will be coming from a language school rather than from “well, I did take one year of lessons last century (you know, before the current system was developed?) and have lived and worked in France for a couple of years. Certifi-what?” The people in Admissions are being great though, hopefully I’ll be able to get in.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. In for a penny…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffeinated, purtified, and brekkied, so no YAWN. ‘Tis 64 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 92 and partly cloudy. I am slackin’ a bit this mornin’ as I don’t have to be anywhere until nine so I really don’t need to leave da cave until around eight to get there as it takes about 45 minutes.

{{{Butters}}} here’s hopin’ today is a lot better.

Rockin’ I have a feelin’ the insurance company will decide everything if fine, if for no other reason than they want the money. BTDT, bought the tshirt, and had the arguement before.

OK, I should do a couple of things before I leave da cave. Then, onward to irk!

Happy Thursday Y’all!

{{{{Butters}}}}

Rockin’, just remember, tomorrow is another day; of course, it may also be a crappy day, but you’ll never know until you experience it. Seriously, I hope the rough spots smooth out for you.

And besides that I’ve got nothing…

Happy Thorsday!

It’s cool outside and cold inside. I’m wrapped up in a blanket right now.
It’s good sleeping weather, but not so good getting out from under the covers weather.

Just another nothing special day around here, I think I have the most boring life.

::clears throat::
A very important Public Service Announcement:

Swampy & MetalMouse, the above is not an activity one should undertake to fill their time post-retirement.

FCM, you are doing the tapering so there will be no crazies. I take prednisone when I have a sinus infection and honestly it makes me feel like Superwoman. I’m in a jolly mood and feel like I could do anything. But I don’t because I’m not crazy.

Sari, I have a friend that I don’t want to be in touch with so I just ignore her FB postings and emails.

The prediction for today is 80 degrees and rain. Tomorrow, 95 degrees. There’s yer summer for all those who wished for it during winter. I don’t want to hear any bitching about how hot it is.

There’s a big difference between the kind of anaerobic steroids athletes use, and the cortical ones that are prescribed for arthritis and like disorders.
Personally, I’ll put up with the occasional manic mood if it means I get to keep the anti inflammatory properties of methyleprednisolone.

**rosie **- I’m taking the meth kind. Hope they kick in soon. I don’t know if it’s part of the placebo effect, but my arm isn’t hurting quite as much as it had been, so there’s that.

Busy busy morning - finished one set of drawings and corrected another. I didn’t pack lunch, so I’ll be heading out to fetch something. I don’t really want fast food, but I don’t have time to have a real meal, so it’ll probably be a drive-thru burger or some such. Then I get to take pill #3.

We’re getting our gutters cleaned and our siding pressure washed today. **FCD **is supposed to close all the windows when the crew gets there - we don’t need the bedrooms pressure-washed this time. Or the bathroom or the kitchen or the basement stairwell. It’ll be nice to get all the green off the gray siding. The north side of the house is especially nasty, what with all the trees and being out of pretty much all direct sun anyway. The back isn’t too bad, but it still needs to be cleaned - it’s been 6 years since it was installed, after all. We should have just gotten moss-green siding, right?

So, off to forage for lunch…

Mom I had a messed up shoulder recently and did the steroid routine. Cleared me up in 3 days.

Of course not, the Chicken Dance is much more appropriate for that age group.

I’m reconsidering the whole “long term employed” thing on account of, the account to which I’m assigned sucks. One advantage of short-term projects was that if and when they went bad you could always look at how far your end-of-contract was and count back. Or put in your two weeks and take a new one.

Blurf Had to set in traffic while the road was shut down this morning for an hour for a car accident. I was within sight of the bridge where the Trauma Star helicopter lands to transports very injured or sick folks to Miami.

At irk now and just crazy busy with lots of little things that are not even my job. Why me?

Moooommm Steroids make me especially hungry and according to the dosage unable to sleep well. But they do work.

Mooooom’s a meth addict! She admitted it!

Admitting that she has a problem is the first step.

butters, I hope that your day gets less exciting than yesterday and this morning.

Moooom, the only unwanted side effect that steroids have on me is to raise my blood sugar levels. No dancing the Macarena. :frowning:

So far, it’s been a productive day. I’m wrapping up some things that should have been complete yesterday but weren’t because every time I got going on them, I got interrupted by someone with [del]poor planning skills[/del] an emergency that need my immediate attention. Today, I’m back on track. Tonight, I may take a short ride just to unwind before supper, then get back in the studio.

FairyCatMom, my experience with people taking steroids is that the patient feels better pdq, and his or her family lives with a raging case of PMS for a few days. Moody doesn’t even begin to describe it. (I changed the combination on my mother’s gun safe a few years ago, for about a week!)

More (((hugs))) to gotti, butters, rockin’, and whomever needs a hug. And** guanolad**, you got this! The admissions office wouldn’t have recommended if you weren’t qualified.

Be glad that I’m giving Internet Hugs today. I thought that the cold I had last month was awful. The current one is worse. Thank goodness for my dad - he heard my symptoms when he called over the weekend, and showed up with the tractor to cut the grass yesterday. The trimming isn’t done, and I don’t care - at least we won’t lose a kid in the vegetation. (Almost 5 inches of rain already this month. You can hear things growing!)

The Boy is getting purtified for a job interview - he applied last Thursday, went for a first interview yesterday, and they wanted him back today. Sounds promising to me. (Waiting tables at Olive Garden. Not a terrible job for a college student.)

And swampy, you are right as always. Krispy Kreme beats Dunkin Donuts by a mile. Happily, a new KK is under construction here in town, so I won’t have to drive to Savannah to get my fix. (And the franchisee chose a brilliant location: next to the Taco Bell in a college town. And across from the 24-hour Wally World.)
