How did you come to pick the name Mauser?
It was a dark and stormy night. A night to retire to the boudoir to lie upon the bed and watch teevee until sleepy time.

The pavers are down, spearmint transplanted and supper fixed. It turned out better than the last time (which was good), so, given the easy nature of this dish, it’s a keeper.
Ice cream has been ingested. I’ve come up with a couple of wig/hat combos - pics tomorrow if I remember. The Nats went down in flames - 13-0. Alas…

We both adulted all day so tomorrow I’m planning on taking Bessie for a run around Ohio getting ready for next weeks cathouse event.
In the OP of the thread in which I’m announcing my new dog, I mention that Mauser is the name of a dachshund in Clive Cussler’s latest Dirk Pitt thriller, Odessa Sea. I enjoy reading Cussler’s work, it’s pure escapism, and in many of the works dachshunds appear, however briefly.
I don’t even own a cell phone, much less a digital camera. I promise I’ll find someone who knows how to take the pics and put them up.
I prefer to think its more about the quality and caliber of his owner. 
He’ll make small furry rodents quake in fear.
With just one little extra line, “Ohio” becomes “Oh no”!
The long way around is to take a film photo, have it processed, scan, save to your desktop and proceed from there.
I was suprisingly productive at work. And sales were up. I fear the worst.

Years ago,when he was a teenager, my bro managed to slice his finger open badly, while washing up. Shortly after, while he was still all bandaged up, we had a big family event. Of course, everyone kept asking him what happened, and he started answering:
Bro: “Got in a knife fight”
Relative: :eek: “WHAT?”
Bro: “Yeah, got in a fight with a knife while washing up”
Relative: :rolleyes:
All very amusing to a bored teenager, until he got to my… somewhat interesting… uncle, who got as far as the knife fight comment, replied “Oh, right” and wandered off. I think he still believes it, even though my nerdy bro never got closer to a knife fight than playing D and D.
My main problem today is that my wrist’s really painful if I try and lift anything heavy or twist it much, and I need to check on my bees in the next few days, to check for swarming signs. Anyone up for helping me go through the hive? I luckily just got a spare bee suit delivered yesterday…

No plans for today, altho I do need to get some dog kibbles in the next few days, since I just dumped the last of it into the smaller container. We have a bucket with a lid that seals where we dump the whole bag, then a Rubbermaid container that holds a manageable amount and the scoop for measuring her daily doses. One is empty and the other is not-quite-full. Plus **FCD **needs more bath soap - which he never tells me till the last bar is nearly gone and he can’t find another in the closet… Anyway, I may need to go to WalMart today. So, as I said: rah.
We finally watched the first episode of the new season of House of Cards. It’s scary how close it comes to reality. Before November, Frank Underwood was an exaggerated fantasy. Now, not so much… :eek:
