Thanks to my major in college and my first career, I am painfully aware of the DSM in all its incarnations. And if I’d majored in Theology, I’d still be familiar because the DSM used to be trotted out regularly by lazy religious nutters as evidence that homosexuality reflects deviant behavior. Since the Vth revision, it appears that lazy religious nutters trot out the DSM as evidence that a dearth of religiosity within its covers indicates the sanity of believers.
Here’s hoping that the 6th edition contains a chapter devoted to dissecting religious fervor and at least a footnote devoted to your brand of vacillating piety. (I know, I know, you aren’t like the others; your particular subscribtion to Christianity is sane, logical, and provable, and lacking in any archaic ritual practices or beliefs.) I look at this way: If I ere on the side that he’s schizophrenic, and he’s a troll, then fuck that guy and we go our separate ways. If I ere on the side that he’s a troll and he’s schizophrenic, I might do damage. So looking at it that way, I’d rather pay the price of being the butt of a troll joke than paying the price of damaging somebody’s mental health.
