Your wish is my command, though maybe I should post this in the night owls thread as an insomnia cure.
nectarines
an onion
cucumbers
red bell pepper
Chex cereal
light mayo
mustard
light salami
individual packs popcorn
chocolate chips
almond milk
The chocolate chips are in case I decide to make cookies for my birthday, which is a week from tomorrow. I used to make cookies every year and hand them out to students. Maybe I’ll make some for the apt. complex staff. And I get the little packs of Skinny Pop (despite its name, the best already-made popcorn out there) because I’d plow through a big bag.
boo, I do card design/making and wedding albums for paying projects and scrapbooks and cards for personal use.
Yay for driving (even limited) dot! That will afford you quite a bit more freedom.
Saturday chores are done, a couple of projects wrapped up in the studio and no dog park trip (it was raining). Got the stoner special at the Cook Out drive thru. Now to chill with a warm little dog on my lap.
My valance suggestion was tasteful and sincere. I’m crushed Cruusshhed!!!
I think you’re right about Skinny Pop being the best out there. I get the little bags too-but I have been known to eat two in one sitting (chagrined face). All the fresh fruit and veggies sound so good. My local corner out of the back of their pickup source for fresh goodies hasn’t been there this summer. I miss corn, cucumbers and melons the most. Enjoy the popcorn! I now may have to go out to the kitchen and make some for me the old-fashioned.
Sounds like a perfect Saturday night, especially if you get to do it in your pjs.
A bunch of call outs, so I ened up unloading 2 53 foot trailers, the last one one of those all steel shipping containers, badly loaded.. Basically 53 feet of metal death(Which sounds like a music festival headlined by Amon Amarth and Slayer \m/–\m/). I also helped on all three boxline sort tables today. I shall sloth tomorrow. I had ordered a new hat to replace the one the Anvil Gnomes stole last month. It was at the hub today at 0715.
The teams appreciated that.
Yay for the clearnace, Dots. Even short trips will help the being stuck in. And hope the glasses are there quick. {{{{hugs}}}}
Miss_Owl, I like those curtains. It has that Addams Family vibe to it,
Nah, man, that “curtains” photo gave me the interior decoration willies. The heebiest of jeebies.
In other news, sweet potatoes take for-bloody-ever to bake! I want soft, caramelized goodness - shoulda planned for an hour+ oven time.
Note to self: sweet potatoes = wintertime “fuck it, let’s heat up the house by sweltering the kitchen” dish.
Similar to No-Knead Bread, which requires something along the lines of a 475+ oven for, like, an hour.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up stoopid early and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 88 with rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted for this afternoon and evenin’. We shall see. The big plan of the day is deheathenization followed by N.O.L. I think we shall stop at the Pubic Sto’ that’s on the way home from the church house and get two fried chikin dinners to go. The stuff there is usually pretty good, plus no desire to go anywhere to sit down and eat and no desire to cook.
Dots yay for drivin’ even if it is limited for now. Gettin’ out on your own to go do sump’n is worth celebratin’.
Boo I missed my street corner back of the truck veggie and melon guy this Summer.
I will chime in favoring sweet potatoes. I stopped at a local non-Amish farm yesterday for Gala apples, 'maters, and they had sweet potatoes, so I grabbed 3. FCD won’t eat them, but I will. He can have the boring white ones.
Frankly, I never realized how many incredibly ugly window treatments are available for sale!
With luck, the hutch will be gone this morning. I’m amazed at the number of queries I’ve gotten about it. Yeah, it’s free, but it’s just the hutch. I’m keeping the table and chairs. I’ve heard from 6 or 7 people so far. So if this woman flakes, there are other possibilities.
I’ve got to clear an area on the garage for the pellets. Plus I’m going to put all of the kids’ stuff in the garage in one place - they tend to spread their crap. SIL is supposed to come today to finish emptying the basement, after I did the dirtiest job. So once he’s removed their crap, I’ll get down there with the shop vac and make it a more civilized space. The critters will be living there most of the next 2 weeks.
I haven t even started and already I’m exhausted!!!
Morning all. Up after about 8 hours sleep, suspect I will have nappage this afternoon. 20% chance of rain and headed to 87F, so humidity will probably not be pleasant. So outside of the Sunday dinner trip (Olive Garden this week), I shall mostly be homebound.
Do need a new stopwatch and athletic shoes, so may add a stop to a store on the way. Likely that the old stopwatch which I couldn’t find yesterday afternoon will show up, but only after I get a new one…
I don’t do Yams, I like my tea sweet and my potatoes unsweet…
Have read but too early to comment, so everyone take care and enjoy your Sunday.
Dots - my cats, well the Bengal anyway, has to be dying to drink still water. Before I got the fountain, he’d be on the sink when I was trying to rinse dishes or brush my teeth or wash my hands. Now I can do those things in peace. But I did learn to keep a spare pump on hand - we’ve had 2 of them die on us.
In fact, I just finished cleaning the fountain. I’ve also readied the garage for the pellet delivery. Daughter and SIL’s crap is all stacked on the shelves, and the stuff destined for the thrift store is all in one place. Unfortunately, when I moved the terlit with the 2-wheel dolly, I set it down too hard (that sucker is heavy!!) and 3 big chunks broke out of the front. So I need to disassemble the whole thing and it’ll go to the dump… or the convenience center, if I can sneak it in there.
The main thing, tho, is the space cleared for 2 tons of pellets (100 bags) - I’ll text the guy who’s going to bring it to us and let him know I’m ready and find out if he’ll take a check or if I need to get cash. Meanwhile, I’m waiting for the lady to call for the hutch. And I’ve got a load of stuff on the cart to take to the basement and put away. That’ll wait till the hutch is gone.
My daughter and SIL will be cooking lunch and supper for me today. They’re both good cooks and my SIL loves grilling outdoors so it is the best of all worlds: good food, someone else cooks and I get to eat with good lookin’ companions (my grownup baby girl, grandgirl Harriet and a SIL who worships both of them) He’s a Canadian boy so he’s ever so kind and earnestly sweet to me. I hope your chicken was tasty.
And aren’t you you glad to have all our help to save you from them? I agree about the ugliness of what’s out there. That and the price is why I usually end up making my own. Well, that and I have to have cat-proof construction. Mini-blinds seem to be an invitation to destruction.
Mine will drink out of the bowl-but only after they drag it half way across the kitchen and slosh water on the floor. Every. Single. Time. No matter how heavy the bowl. If if don’t shut the toilet bowl lid fast enough they are sticking their head in there. The faucet licking seems to be a primal drive. I’ve given up caring about that.
I’m jealous. Wish I had a farm stand like that near me. It’s getting to be the time for my soul to be carving new fall crop apples and there is next to no way to get them, even though a dozen splendid heritage varieties are grown 50 miles away. Sigh…
Gotta go get fed and showered for my hot date with Hattie. Enjoy your day of rest everybody, even those of you (FCM, I’m talking to you) who’ll not be resting in the slightest.
Full disclosure: the Irish have something similar to this in the living room downstairs. We are hillbilly hippies, though, so it works with the rest of the decor.
