The last minute MMP

That peanut butter was made in a plant twenty-five miles east of here. The local news is downplayin’ the fact that people will die horrible wretched deaths from eating peanut butter. I checked and I don’t have any of the peanut butter that will kill from just lookin’ at it. Can y’all tell I get a lot of amusement from local news?

Supper tonight is chili dawgs. That was requested. See, I already had nummy homemade chili in the freezer, so all I had to do was take some out to thaw and nuke. Hotdwags I have aplenty also. So, I stopped by the bread store and bought some buns. So, dinner tonight is chilidawgs, chips (crisps to BooFae) and beerverages. When ol’ y’all know who shows up, the grill will get lit and the dawgs cooked. Everybody knows that dawgs are best cooked on the grill.

Have I mentioned that it’s coooooold[sub]by south Jawja standards[/sub] today? Heck, humidity is like at twenty-five percent, so it’s a dry cold. And… we have a severe freeze warning tonight. That means it might get to twenty degrees Amurrkin tonight!

Puggy reckon we need to make us some “No Iceberg” signs?

Cause stepdaughter like to live on the edge.

Plus, I have a feeling she’s incredibly stoooooooooopid. Just sayin’.

Hmmm, maybe “No Glaciers” would be be better since we are both inland. Several on their way through the cupholder.

Ah, I missed the two cups of brown sugar part. So it does have twice as much sugar as flour. OK, I approve.

I could use a little Global Warming about now. My stoop is clear, thanks to some IceMelt, but the walkway is a rink.

Well, dang, guess Ima gonna have to find another place for my beerverage til they come through.

Want Puggy to push a couple “No Glacier” signs through the cupholder for ya Rosie?

Whew - what a day and what a week. I need to decide what we’re having for supper, and I should probably start some laundry. Tomorrow is going to be a total waste as far as getting anything done.

Scruffy is doing better - no pee or poo, even tho I was an hour late getting home. However, she did hork on the carpet, which did not please me. It did reveal that the hork I cleaned the other day wasn’t caused by Miss Brandy…

Glad to see someone remembered that I’m doing Monday.

And that’s all I’ve got for now. Gotta make the dinner decision…

I HATE BILL GATES!!! I did the Microsuck update this afternoon, and did the restart, and…no start. Not only that, the computer wouldn’t recognize the keyboard to allow me to go back to a working configuration. Microsuck help said I need a disk to fix, which I don’t have. Now the PC is in the shop, and I am typing on the ME machine that was in the dusty closet. This thing is so slow I won’t be posting too much till the dead one is back.

Drae, swampy better luck next job.

haze, have a good time.

Sean, I had an empolyee like that. He was blowing up baloons and letting them float to the celing. The problem? He didn’t put strings on them “to save time”

I’m home and I have FOUR WHOLE DAYS off. Yay!!!

Good to recognize that the job won’t work out, Drae. Glad to here there are more interviews in the pipeline, swampy.

I’d like a “No Glaciers” sign too, please. There’s lots and lots of ice and snow everywhere and it’s hard to walk. Not many people got to shovel because of the timing of the combination. It’s really difficult to shovel more than steps. Maybe I’ll take a few pictures tomorrow and post them. Some of it looks very pretty.

Those brownies sound wonderful, LiLi.

Are you laughing at my ME machine, doggio? :dubious: Mine is gathering dust in my office. And, on preview, I see that your remark about my PC has resulted in the resurrection of YOUR ME machine. Mine’s quite fast, thank goodness.

I’m thinking about what to have for dinner. Not sure yet. Maybe a couple of bean tacos again. And an orange. And chocolate or something. We’ll see.

Sounds like it’s time to whap the stepdaughter upside the head, Sean. I have non-recalled peanut butter, thank goodness.

I’m all sniffly tonight because I forgot to take my antihistamines this morning. Took one this afternoon and it’s helping a bit. I’m hoping I’m back to normal by tomorrow.

Back later…

We just got some unexpected warm fuzzies. I realized it’s approaching Mardi Gras, so was looking at the Parade Cam on NOLA.com to make myself nostalgic. Papa Tigs heard me, so started watching it himself. And to his complete delight, he just saw his old buddy Johnny, head of security where he used to work who’s the head chaperone for a local girls high school marching band! Johnny is one of those really nice guys we’ve been wondering about ever since Katrina, so it was so good to see him back at it, herding the chaperones and band down St. Charles Avenue!

Finally home and dinner has been eaten. Tonight’s dinner was steak and taters.

We were going to WoW it up, but our server crashed. We’re waiting a few minutes and will try again.

Daughter is in a truly bitchy mood.

This whole college thing is pissing her off, apparently. Hubby happened to notice all the stuff from the colleges lying on the table and started asking her about it. Her demeanor turned short and snotty. We explained to her that we will apply to all colleges she’s interested in and check into financial aid/scholarships. We’re not going to limit her to in state if she’s going to get help from out of state. However, we’re not letting her go there in Missouri. Uh-uh, no way, no how. God, I hope we get through this without drama. My stomach is tore up enough as it is.

Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be fairly pleasant here. I’m looking forward to it. You all can keep your ice and snow.

Well, off to check the server.

Mork, thank you for this. It helped me more than you know. I’ll try to explain a little why here.

It never occurred to me to get more information about my computer when I was worried about it. I just sat here hoping that it never crashed on me. And when I heard your idea about getting more knowledge about it, it excited me. I love learning new things.

So I thought about that and wondered where else I could apply that in my life. So as I sat here in all the stuff I’m worried and stuck about that I mentioned earlier in this MMP, I thought about getting more information to get unstuck.

Today’s particular worry was about taxes. I started calling around for more info. and the problem seems less stuck than it did yesterday and is hopefully moving in the right direction. And there are a lot of places in my life like that. . . worry caused by not enough info., so there’s a lot of places to apply your great idea. Thanks for sharing it.

And that’s how I learn from, get inspired by and motivated by you and all the MMPers here. Thanks.

Oh, and as for my day, it was a beautiful 71 degrees F here. Sunshine makes me smile!

obligatory drunken post! had a wonderful drunken night and will post pictures. Love you all

Up way too early again. We goofed and forgot to turn the alarm off yesterday, so at 4:45… We tried to go back to sleep, and I did snooze for about an hour, but once I had to get up to pee, Scruffy was up and barking, so I had to pull on some clothes and take the doggies out. They’ve now been fed, and I’m getting ready to shower and head up to Mom’s. I may try to find some photos of my two high school friends and take them to lunch - I think I know where the box of photos is.

By all long-range indications, this weekend will be the last below-normal temps time for at least a week. We’re supposed to see 50s on Tuesday! So maybe there will be a spring after all. Eventually.

Anyway, I wanted to check in before beginning the insanity that will be my Saturday. I expect you all to finish your chores and not make any messes. And I better not hear about any hitting. I’m serious!

Happy Saturday!

I’m up early, too. Unfortunatly, it’s deliberate; another fire school. The joys of hazmat and terrorism…

It’s way, way too early to be awake here, and I am ready to do something drastic. One of the neighbor’s car alarm keeps going off, over and over again. Sometimes they come and turn it off, other times it runs down on its own, I guess. Either way, it keeps going off every other minute. Did I mention I have a migraine? And it’s two more hours until I can take another vicodin? ARGH! Oh, there it goes again. That thing needs to go back and be recalibrated, or something. Uh oh. Somebody’s smacking the car around now. Oh, I think it’s the owner, trying to keep it from going off again, since it’s making pathetic beeping noises.

Up and caffienating here. I slept almost ten hours last night. A Certain Somebody is still sleepin’. That’s ok, he works hard, poor thing. Maybe I’ll make some waffles and sausages when he awakens since it’s cold here. 21 Amurrkin! BRRRRR!

I think today might be a sloth day. I do need to make some cheese crisps to take for a reception after church tomorrow. A baby is being baptized. I love baptisms for some reason. Plus I’m a Lector tomorrow and a baptism always makes that a little more special. Anywho, gramma of the baby who is a good friend asked me if I’d make the crisps for the reception. One cannot say no to that, now can one?

Ok, FCM is gone for the day. We can jump up and down on the furniture! We can invite all our friends over and have a kegger! We can eat all the cookies! What should we do first?

Aagh agh agh. Mr. Lissar just downloaded some new special something for the computer which has changed the format completely, and has made all the windows go translucent. It won’t let me turn it off. It’s driving me crazy. It also scrolls like suck- e.g. very slowly and painfully, with all the little fricking icons gleaming through.

Who thinks this is a good idea? Who?!
I’m up, going to drink tea, and then do laundry. I might jump up and down on top of Mr. Lissar (who is still asleep) screaming “Why did you wreck the computer? Why?!”. It’s a nice way to wake up.
The brownies are good, but the centre didn’t cook fully. It might be my pan shape. They taste very buttery-chocolatey.

Awake. Sort of. Too early to jump up and down.

Did you have a nice time, Hank? Just curious.

Bad, Mr. Lissar! No more downloading permitted.

I’m still sniffly, so I’m making chicken soup and relaxing, trying to plan out my day.

Off to plan.
