Lots of air comes out of the vents. It gets cool in here pretty quickly.
We keep the thermostat set on 80 and to get the AC to run we have to turn it down to 76 or lower. The air runs and runs and runs, until I’m wrapping up in a blanket the dog is turning his bed into a nest and curling up in it.
If we let it go, it just keeps running. One day I let it go to see what would happen and over an hour later it was still running and cold in here. We have to push it back up to 80 to get it to turn off.
Maybe it’s me, or maybe the thermostat?
We’ve been handling it manually, turn it down when it gets too hot and then back up when it gets chilly.
It’s not that much of a problem to do, just a bit of a pain at night because one of us has to get up to adjust it.
We didn’t have this problem with the heat, same thermostat. It cycled on and off just fine.
**sari **- maybe you should get a programmable thermostat, assuming it’s compatible with your system. I love ours - we can program it to change according to the time of day. Not that we bother now, since I’m home all day, but when we both worked, we’d allow it to get warmer while we were away, then cool just before we got home. It was great!
Two panels done, two more to go - sooooooo tedious! I just took a break to have some cantaloupe. Guess I should get back to the machine. ugh.
Back at irk of course. I have two of my employee’s at a Star Service customer service class today and tomorrow so I have the new girl filling in. There has been a little slow down finally. It’s still busy just not crazy like it has been.
We still have not had any rain. It is around 90 degrees F with a heat index of well over 100. Awful hot. This is rainy season but still not a drop. It rained at my house 30 miles up the road for a little bit yesterday but nary a drop here. We need rain.
Still pulling together documentation for the accreditation visit the first week of August. I will so glad when that is over as everyone is very stressed about it. My program will be fine I think.
I brought leftovers for lunch and it’s about that time.
FCM I probably do need a new thermostat and that is a nice option.
I used to trim Sah-dog’s nails but last time I cut two of them too short and blood everywhere. It’s supposed to be painful but he didn’t even flinch. He needs a bath but I’m not up to that yet and we’ve been taking it easy on him, don’t want to upset him.
Time to get some lunch and start doing something anything around here. I’m getting bored but I know if I do too much I’ll feel it later.
It was 80F when I left for irk at 0630. We’re supposed to hit triple digits today, Thursday and Friday. This is the time of year I exercise (aqua aerobics) just to cool down.
Last night I had two dreams about a band I like. In the first dream I went to a concert they were performing. In the second dream, I went to another one of their concerts, but the band members were performing in their underwear.
The doctor said that other than being a little low on vitamin D, my tests were good. Yay! He even said my blood sugar was good (which is surprising because I eat nothing but sugar. Okay, that’s a bit of an exaggeration.)
Sari it does sound a problem with the thermostat, but before you spend any money, make sure you don’t have anything producing heat near the thermostat. TVs, computers, charging cords and the like can put off enough heat to keep your thermostat from clicking off.
I had a phone once that I nicknamed Linda Blair.
Turned itself on and off at random, disconnected from the bluetooth and reconnected at random.
I know most of y’all don’t believe in haunting but the old row house I lived in in the city was pretty bad. I thought I was going crazy at times until I talked to the next people to move in and they had the same experiences.
Scary when I look back on it.
The old farm house in the city had a few strange events but none of them scary. At least not to me.
When I first moved in the farm house, every evening when I got home from irk there would be a small toy laying in the middle of the living room floor. I put it down to the previous owner’s kids leaving stuff around and the cats digging them out from where ever.
However, several times I saw a child’s wet footprints going across the living room floor.
I bought the house from bikers and it was rumored that they had buried a body under the front porch. Kind of silly to me when the crawl space under the back bedroom would have made a much better place to hide one. Anyway, my bedroom was right next to the porch and some nights I’d hear knocking on the wall. Not scary, all houses make noise, except if I knocked back it would knock even more. We did all kinds of patterns too. Kind of freaky, but not scary.
Supper was yum - breaded chickie, twice-baked N.O.T.s, Amish 'maters, and cantaloupe. Ice cream later. Digestion now.
I need to get a new iron - mine is leaking. ick. I think it’ll last long enough to press the hems for the towels, but I’ll need a replacement before I iron the paint to set it. So I guess I’ll be iron shopping later this week.
Howdy Y’all! Miss me today? Irk was busy even with irkin’ from da cave this mornin’. Then I went up to the north forty this afternoon. When I got back to da cave I heated up the brisket, N.O.T., carrots, steamed some asparagus and baked up some rolls. NUMMY! Plus leftovers for tomorrow’s dindin! Now Ima chillin’ here and OYKW is preparin’ him a soak in the tub. All is well.
Worked, came home. Remembered I still had the other store’s keys.:smack: Drove back. Drove home by the scenic route. Da Hood is been bulldozed. Kinda sad, a lotta fun there(and light to moderate small arms fire)
