So would that mean Storyteller shouldn’t have gotten the ‘protected’ PM like he claimed? More importantly, if ShadowFacts is scum blocked from killing, he should have gotten the ‘failed’ PM. Or pedescribe is lying of course and both are town.
If Allwalker did check Story’s ‘I’m Town’, would he know a Godfather lied? Since two investigators does seem a bit much for a power role light game and just one investigator is an indication for a Godfather, I think I would still vote for Storyteller.
Or pedescribe is lying of course and both Shadow and Story are town [or] all three of them are scum. Somehow the latter doesn’t seem unlikely to me ;).
Doesn’t seem unlikely to me, either. Despite Allwalker’s breadcrumbs, storyteller still seems pretty scummy to me. I wonder if there’s a possibility that an investigation on him could be false, like if he’s the alpha-Other or something.
Even though subs are done, so it won’t ruin the knowledge of any potential players, spoilers should never be posted in forbidden threads because they can show up in searches, and some people “playing along at home” don’t want to see the spoilers, even if you put them in a spoiler box
If you want to know the answer, he’ll have to PM you (or one of us spoiled types could, I guess). Or you can get spoiled yourself and find out.
Hey everyone, particularly you guys who are now dead…
The Idlemafia game needs about 5 more players. It’s looking to be a good game but has a fixed minimum number of players needed to be able to play the game. If anyone is interested please head over and sign up. We’re a good group over there.
That was an interesting night. I was wrong about Pede but I think Story’s reaction guarantees that he is scum. I think the town is in some serious trouble since they are going to be more likely to believe Story then Meeko (I mean seriously who doesn’t want to lynch him?).
What I don’t get is all this “anagram” nonsense people keep mentioning.
Breadcrumbing using anagrams is, to put it bluntly, fucking lame.
Any sort of “code” is a ridiculous gambit unless the people you desire to know it actually know what the code is (see the masons in the Arkham game, for example, where naf could read the mason board but would lose his power for a cycle if he posted to it, he communicated to them in the game thread via coded posts based on what they posted).
If you’re going to breadcrumb do it in plain sight, but couch it some how. (For a perfect breadcrumb example, Pleo was the Bishop in the “The Mafia is Recruiting” game. It was a semi-open setup. The bishop had the power to tap one player to become another priest. He tapped Hal, who later claimed that he had become Priest. Pleo said he was going to “put his faith” in Hal about his claim. Later, Pleo claims priest himself so that he doesn’t risk getting recruited into Mafia Capo role. Detective investigates him, and finds out he’s Bishop. So he lied. Also, the Godfather would investigate as a random town power role. So a claimed priest who investigates as Bishop could be the godfather. They went at it back and forth about who was actually going to claim what, until finally the detective (Drain Bead) claims what she found, and Pleo shows that he was a Bishop and breadcrumbed that it was he who tapped Hal to become a priest.)
But anagramming? Sorry, if I have to spend time solving a puzzle to figure out what you’re trying to say, I’m not going to bother. My effort is better spent on figuring out the game itself.
At this point either Meeko or Story is lying about being blocked. Of their two roles the detective is much easier to fake then a vig that do multiple kills in a night.
I also like that Meeko claimed before the rule change was announced. It is possible that as soon as the roles were given to the scum team he ran to the board and did his name claim to beat Mahaloth announcement but I think there would have been some discussion on the scum board on how to handle their new roles before.
Story has been pinging me the whole time but has been acting and speaking like town. I did a read through of Story right before I died and I got a general inconsistent feeling but I couldn’t prove it.
As for why the town is screwed basically I think Story is a better player then Meeko and now that they are head to head he is going to get crushed.
Where did Meeko claim to be blocked? I missed that. And Meeko has now admitted that he was being misleading about the number of bullets he had. He only ever had one. Which of course means that his semi-random Vig attack on Night 1 was even worse than it originally appeared.
A general comment btw. I’ve seen a lot of people in this and the last game here being all spazzed out about dying overNight. Meeko used it as his reasoning for shooting Night 1(I suppose technically a spoiler, but I don’t see how it matters to the game at all), Scuba made a comment along those lines in the thread, and I’ve seen others say similar as well. Why are people so paranoid about being killed? Especially Meeko and Scuba. There was not a chance in hell either of them were going to be killed on the Night they fretted about it, not with better targets like claimed detectives and docs around, yet they are still sure it will happen. Unless you’re an outted power role or are known to everyone to be a very strong player with no outted roles(like Story say on Night 1 of a given game), the odds of you actually being NK’d are really damn low. This kind of attitude, that zomg I’m going to die!, can be very harmful to your team in these games. Meeko in here is one obvious example. There was also Conspiracy 2, where I was a member of the Cabal faction. We had a one shot, unstoppable NK, that would only work if 2 or more members were alive. I mistakenly let myself be talked into using it too early, and it led directly to us losing and Town winning. Don’t let yourself fall into the trap of believing you’re so very important that you’re going to be an immediate target unless you have a damn good reason to think so.
Ya, I posted before Meeko came clean. So I was way off. I do think it’s interesting that the scum didn’t bite at Meeko’s ploy though. On the plus side its stuff like this that guarantee that I’ll never be the first person NKed.
Can someone explain this to me? I’m not sure I get what meeko’s trying to say.
Also, I can’t shake the feeling that **chronos ** is scum. I mean, I’m probably wrong, since I’m terrible at fingering scum but the way he takes every opportunity to reiterate that he’s confirmed just pings me.
Finally, it makes me laugh that the post at the top of this page says:
That when he said he believed AllWalker’s role, he meant that the role was appropriate to the character, not that AllWalker necessarily had that role.
It seems odd that anyone would express himself in that way, but that’s Meeko for you. I figure his ADHD makes it difficult to check to make sure his posts are unlikely to be misinterpreted.
ETA: Also, at a metagame level, it is an awesome way to be if he ever has to play scum. It’s hard to get a scumtell on him when he can say he didn’t mean what it looked like he meant.
Not necessarily. My girlfriend is officially diagnosed ADHD, and the woman who diagnosed her was shocked that she ever made it through college with how bad her ADHD was.
My girlfriend basically cited that she made it through undergraduate because she was an English major, which meant she could work on her own time, not under a clock like most majors where your grades are largely based on taking tests rather than writing papers.
So if anything, ADHD should play less of a role in a message board setting than it would in other aspects. Because you don’t have any time constraints where ADHD will negatively affect your performance.
All right, Town is starting to get their act together! Could get interesting from here on out. I am surprised that Chronos’ program looks good for Scuba, I would probably consider him the most suspicious at this point (but then, I suck at this game). Of course, if Chronos keeps playing and people start to put faith in his program, it seems like it would be fairly easy for scum to manipulate that, but I doubt that is happening in his second game.
