The Mandalorian Season 3 [Open Spoilers]

I’m guessing not Skinny Pete at any rate.

WAG: it’s the Armorer - but it’s also not the Armorer. The Armorer was actually assassinated last episode and replaced by Elia Kane, the evil and muscular “former” Imperial officer, who’s using a voice modulator.

If there’s a spy among the Mandalorians, then that would be a significant departure from the writing so far, which has been so incredibly simple that a toddler could follow it. That would raise it all the way to second grade level or so.

Exactly!
There didn’t need to be a push…it was just a mandated “action scene.”

“The Armorer is a spy” theory has been going around a lot lately, and while it seems kind of an odd choice to make, that sometimes happens with this show.

Maybe the “spy” is IG-11’s carcass. It would cast suspicion on Grogu and it would be the second time the Mandalorians were ratted out by a droid.

This is a fairly logical guess.

So I guess now “The Mandalorian” is Bo-Katan, right? It’s no longer about Din Djarin. This isn’t a good change, as Bo-Katan is an excellent supporting character but as a lead character she’s as dull, if rather more physically consistent with a warrior, as Boba Fett was in his show.

I’m guessing Bo dies.

Speculation read elsewhere that Grogu rides the Mythosaur seems likely.

Don’t buy the Amorer as a spy. That’s a misdirect.

Bo HAS to ride the mythosaur, doesn’t she?

No. No. No. No.

My last minute WAG - Bo-Katan dies in combat with Gideon before Grogu’s eyes, Grogu Force-Lightnings Gideon to death, and takes up the Darksaber, because he’s actually been the title character all along.

Not exactly what I predicted, but a pretty awesome finale nonetheless.

Gideon’s interest in Grogu was never about Palpatine or the Empire at all - he was growing Force-sensitive clones of himself. Hopefully he’s really dead this time.

Marshal IG-11 is a nice conclusion to that character’s arc. And Din Grogu looks to have a bright future ahead of him. Very “happily ever after” conclusion to the season, but I believe they’re still planning two more, so we’ll just have to see what’s in store for father and son in the future.

Ahsoka premieres in August.

Seems like a definite conclusion for this story, so something entirely new for next time. Possibly tying into whatever plot unfolds in the rest of the shows for this year.

We know what’s coming next in 2023 (Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew), but currently don’t know the Star Wars TV schedule for 2024 (only The Acolyte has been announced so far) so my expectation is Mando S4 will likely be sometime late next year.

Underwhelmed.

Teaser of Grogu reaching out to the Mythosaur was fun I guess.

Grogu has that Superman problem. At any point he can pull out power.

So there is no mandalorian traitor? I thought that was obvious, Gideon always knew exactly what they were up to.

That was, frankly, amazing - there wasn’t a single line of dialog in the entire episode that wasn’t strictly perfunctory. It takes serious effort to write something so devoid of character, depth or personality. I’m almost impressed.

Remember Bill Burr’s character from the previous seasons? Could you imagine him in Season 3? He’d be like a dodecahedron in Flatland.

It was kind of cliche even for this show and looked surprisingly cheap. I liked how the end was essentially a reset back to close to how the story began in season one though.

I enjoyed the finale. No complaints, though they could have given Skinny Pete more to do. A piano demo maybe. I’m not sure about all this cloning business though, with Gideon or Palpatine or a clone army. Seems to mean you can never really defeat the bad guy. I notice how Moff Gideon was really starting to resemble Darth Vader this season. Black guy (or at least the voice of a black guy) in a black suit. Is it problematic? You tell me. Nice to hear Taika’s voice again.

at least ragnar got to finish his creed. he didn’t say the bit about his helmut, perhaps they will ease up on that.

at some point din grogu and the myth. will get together. that will be fun.

It’s funny because my wife doesn’t really care about Star Wars but she really liked The Mandalorian (and Andor but that’s neither here nor there) and because this season got very “Star Wars” she kind of checked out but she was excited about the end because it seemed like they sort wrapped back around and next season will be more of what she likes.

If I was allowed to make a note in this show’s bible, it would say, “From here forth, there shall be no more than one Mandalorian per episode!” You know why Grogu is everybody’s favorite character? Because there is no Yoda or other cousins showing up to make him look like just another goofy green puppet.
