When the A/C was broken in the trailer in the woods where I lived with Mrs. Plant v. 2.0, the only window air conditioners available were two tiny foot wide units. I bought them and we sealed off the living room and made it habitable. Can you afford a small window unit?
It’s been a loooong day; just made bail. Once I pulled my pants back up, I was charged w/ carrying a concealed weapon.
I can’t make it; I shall be in NYC…sleeping
Okay, I’ll guess…Sneezy?
Seriously, that sucks.
Mooomm talk to the card company about the already authorized charges on your card. You should be able to arrange for them to go through, or get a new number to give out as needed. Sorry that happened. It sucks.
Worked, came home ,walked Gordie. I had good timing, 45 seconds after we got back in, I got a mini monsoon. Making chipolte BBQ chicken with rice and a salad with a spicy pepper vinegrette.
If you see anybody over there with carolina Hurricanes gear, say “hi” and tell 'em you know me. They probably know me, and will welcome you with open arms. Or stab you., I forget who I owe money to over there.
Welcome back! And you’re Jeff Skinner? :D;)
“Pinin’ for the fjords.”
That sucks. I once had someone steal my CC number, and buy a dozen bagels and a Blu-ray player in NJ.:dubious:
The thing is, my roommate probably won’t allow me to have an air conditioner as she’d be worried it’d run up the electric bill. She would probably suggest I sleep with my bedroom door open to cool down a bit, but I dislike doing that because I like privacy, I like listening to the radio in my room, and my roommate complains about my snoring when she hears me through a closed door and might complain even more if the door was open (assuming I could even get to sleep with the anxiety of having my door open.)
Or maybe I’m just objecting to having the door open because I’m not used to it (at my old house we had cats who weren’t allowed in the bedrooms, so the bedroom doors stayed closed.)
You get a small window unit for your bedroom, since it’s hotter (and you’re being penalized). You can offer to pay more (and haggle about how much that will be). Come winter, if you’re so inclined, you can ask her to pay more of the bill, since you don’t need so much heat.
If you don’t mind my saying, your roommate sounds like a bit of a pill.
Pining for the fjords?
Yeah – what he said. Dogbutlers are known for their wisdom.
And their beautiful plumage.
Anything battery operated and you will need several sets of rechargeables and a couple chargers. For the same amount of electric I would just go a small dual box-fan type unit. We had one like the bathroom fan illustrated below that did a darn nice job in a small room. And a couple really hot times I put a cooler of ice below it and had it blow across making a sort of swamp-cooler out of it.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin and cloudy out (gettin’ daylight so I’ll sat that instead of dark) with a predicted high of 90 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. First time in about three weeks we shall have a mostly N.O.S. day. Need to take care of a few errands this mornin’ which I shall get done asap as I don’t really want to go anywhere but alas must. Woe is me! If I feel motivated to do so, I shall go assist with mowage over to the church house late this afternoon. Not my team’s turn, but I sometimes do go help out with mowage on Firday just out of nice. We shall sup on boxed lasagna, sallit, and cheesey garlic bread. I have started watchin’ Schitt’s Creek on Netflix and am findin’ it quite humorous and binge worthy.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, since I am forced, forced I say, to go about the public I should purtify and don appropriate attire. Bother.
Happy Firday Y’all!
Happy Firday!
It looks to be cloudy and rainy today.
I have to go see the doctor, follow up on the thyroid pills,
I feel lots better so I hope the bloodwork looks good.
Sux about the CC FCM, happened to me awhile back. I’m pretty sure the bastards got my number when I got gas.
They went thru recent charges/authorizations with me back to last week, and, unfortunately, the one we’re worried about hadn’t gone thru. It’s weird because they told **FCD **they ran it right away 2 days ago. Anyway, he’s going to call them today and see what we can work out. The big concern is that we made the purchase during a sale, which is now over. And the difference is significant - like 50% more.
Damned rat bastard thief… **sari **- my daughter said Orlando has had a big problem with skimmers on gas pumps, so yeah, that’s my assumption.
I was so wound up last night, I didn’t fall asleep till after midnight, meaning 5AM came way too early. It’s gonna be a long, draggy day. And a soggy weekend forecast. And we’ll need a goat to beat the grass back in the yard.
Can’t this all just be a bad dream???
Yeah, yeah, Happy Firday.
Oh, yeah, and what really ticks me off - I had my credit card number memorized, so shopping online was a piece of cake. Now I’ll have to learn 16 new numbers, a new date, and a new security code. Rat bastard…
Up, caffeinated ,and sheveled. Off to work
Ah, light work as usual, I see!
Yeah, good way to kill a weekend morning
blurfage Happy June! Plenty of irk today and for the next few work days.
Well, **FCD **spoke to the nice rep and he’ll still get his software at the sale price. He’s just got to FedEx a bank check to them. So WHEW!
We’ll figure out the rest of the money issues when I get home.
And I can go home in 5 more hours. So yay.
The sun is shining and it’s supposed to get up to the high 80s today. I may have to turn on the AC.
I like fresh air so much better.
I tried to nap a little but Ripple wouldn’t let me sleep, now I’m up and he is snoring away.
Such a brat.
I need some breakfast.
I am awake ---- I think. Still hot and very humid with more pop-up storms all afternoon. Yesterday getting to work was tough due to a fatal crash on one bridge and a less-than-fatal-but-serious crash on another. My 6.2 mile commute became about 30 miles and the usual 10 minutes became over an hour. On one of the bikes I wouldn’t mind but in the car it was just a pain.
**
Moooom**, the answer is to get a second card, and one number is used in the real world, and one for the majic intertubes.
Of course, they will then have a race to see who gets hacked first…
**ruble **- back when the earthquake hit in VA, my daughter was at her school in Dahlgren. TPTB closed the Nice Bridge for inspection, so she had to come home via the next available bridge over the Potomac - the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Her 45 minute commute took over 3 hours thanks to that little detour. hard to believe there’s only one bridge across that river south of the DC beltway.
LUNCH TIME!!! My day is moving along - not as fast as I’d like, but it’s getting there.
