She’s VERY cute! She climbed on my head, licked my face, licked my hair, chewed on my fingers… The truth be told, ‘Let’s play!’ is the only Dog I speak. But it seems to be a good one to know.
Nellie, I irk in a horsepital (thankfully I am NOT clinical) and seeing prisoners shuffling in is a regular occurrence. They wear orange jumpsuits. It is still kinda creepy though.
Cupcakes, prayers sent to your dean.
Today is a better day in my world. I messed around with Ariel last night–changed her blanket and put on a clean one. The ditry one (you can imagine how a horse blanket smells) is in my garage.
Morning all. Waiting for the carpet folks to arrive, they did get all the wood floor up last evening (and my ears have stopped ringing, it was noisy), so hope to have some new flooring down today. Also have made up the February shopping list, may try and get out and do that shopping today. Otherwise just another day cooped up with my laptop in the bedroom.
Got my Government reitirement 1099R, now just need the Edward D. Jones one to have all my documents; however, the Jones site says I’ll have it by 15 Feb at the latest…so looks like February to do my taxes.
flyboy, cute pupper! And yeah, let’s play is a good thing to know, for puppies and babies (FCM knows them both, I bet).
wet one, how do you clean Ariel’s blanket? I would think running it through the washing machine might not be practical.
swampy, I figure I do this once every 20 years, the next time will be when I’m 86 and if I’m still living here, well, good on me.
Butters, hope the appointment goes well.
Back to waitin. The guys are usually here by now, so hope they didn’t get caught in traffic or something…
All y’all take care.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Gordie is snoozing after fighting off The Invisible Mole People. Laudnry today.
The burners work, and I can turn the water on and off from the under sink shutoffs, so it’s still in the “First World Problem” stage. But yeah, I could tailgate 3 meals a day if needed.![]()
Maybe you’re sleep flirting with someone. But if “huboy70” wants you to send him money in Arkansas, just delete everything.![]()
SQUEEEEEEEE
Only when they Lector you about your dietary choices.
Prayers for your dean, Cupcakes.
Back from the library - it was a really nice program - a little marching, a story, a song, and lots of time ti play with all the other kids!.Roxy even helped pick up toys afterwards. She’s had her bottle and she’s crashed.
We need to start working on her pre-sleep routine - that’s the only time she has a bottle. Not sure what we’ll substitute, tho.
It’s about 25 degrees F here today. I think it’s supposed to be a decently warm week, up to maybe 40 this Sunday. Last year I remember a whole lot of nights where we had a -40 wind chill (actual temp probably about -15 or -20), so I’ll take it. We are getting more snow this year with the warmer temps, though.
Yeah, bring on spring and summer. I miss my lengthy Pokémon Go walks…
Go me! I just cleaned and reorganized the spice cabinet and the booze cabinet (OK, that one is the small one over the stove, but it still counts! I tossed a lot of little spice containers that hadn’t been touched in eons, including one with a date of 2007. And I wiped down the outsides of the doors. I think I’ve earned some chillage.
Happy Hump Day!
Actually kind of an annoying day.
At least the sun is shining and it’s above freezing outside, 39 degrees.
I got the pups off to daycare, late because I slept in a bit.
Annoyed now because I have a doctor appointment. I got a VM on Moonday that says my appoinment is at 1:30 and a text today that says it is at 2:00. I tried to call the office and they are closed for lunch until 1:30.
Pisses me off because I took off irk early and I didn’t need to.
I always took my horse’s blankets to the laundrymat, and used the big heavy duty machine.
Hope the rest of the home irk goes smoothly MetalMouse.
Red, my parallel parking skills are very rusty. It doesn’t help that when I lived in Baltimore, I lived on a one-way street and my house was on the left. I am much better at parking on the wrong side of the road. The hard part though is doing it in heavy traffic. There is no guarantee that the person behind you is going to stop, let alone stop far enough back so you can back into the space. I got rear-ended once when I stopped for the person in front of me to park and the person behind me hit me. Then he was mad at me for stopping.
If it wasn’t rush hour, I’d feel a lot safer doing it.
Good luck Butters
Cute pup Flyboy
Nellie, my dogs bring me the mail, but they haven’t figured out how to open boxes yet.
Well, Ripple brings me the mail, Echo just kind of carries it in my general direction and drops it.
I had something like that; it was called the mid-70s. From the pictures I’ve seen and the stories friends tell I had a helluva time!
Overlap day at irk went better than most Wednesdays do so I may celebrate with a rye or two tonight.
Afternoon all. The carpet is going in and the other flooring is on the premises, so things are progressing. Only issue now is that I wanted my new desk delivered on Thursday, and I don’t think the office area is going to be done by them; hoping they call today as they promised and see fi I can set it up for early next week (they’re supposed to be coming from the Nashville area).
Did the February grocery shopping, picked up a family-sized bag of Lay’s chips, as the Super Bowl is the only time I allow myself to gorge on potato chips, otherwise they (and french fries) are not part of my larder. Managed to get everything with only 2 stops, and since I helped the guys carry the boxes of flooring in (and they’re heavy, let me tell you), they helped out with carrying the groceries from the car. It’s a famaily organization, dad and Son-in-law have been here all 3 days, son was here yesterday).
Glad Roxie enjoyed the library trip, FCM; I am in favor of any activity that makes kids library goers.
Kov, don’t recall seeing you around the MMP; welcome! Read the FAC if you have questions, remember than Moooomm is nice, dammit, and treat spidey, flytrap and doggio with [del]great degrees of suspicion[/del] courtesy and friendship. Psstt…and swampy is GAY!!
All y’all take care.
I liked life a whole lot better before I had a PCP.
Supper was really random. Roxy had a bowl of blueberries and most of a grilled cheese sammich. She shared it with the dogs. (translation: she ate what she wanted and gave them the rest.) I had some leftover ribs and a bagel. **FCD **said he’ll have a bowl of cereal later.
Not particularly satisfying, but what ya gonna do?
These days when Daughter has classes are long days for me and Roxy. Starting next month, her daddy will be home on Mon and Weds, so I’ll get a break. That kid wears me out!
The fridge handle broke.:smack:
 This is why people move south from Wisconsin. But welcome aboard!
at least blue dog poop will be easy to find in the yard.
Hey, y’'all! Since I’ve been south–Portland IS south of me, I’ve adopted the lingo.
I’m on the train home. Appointment went OK. It was very thorough. I was mortified that I unexpectedly started crying TWICE–Egads–first when I told him about running into signs, people, etc. due to the peripheral vision loss and again when he suggested I get a white cane so other people will know to get out of my way. I refuse. I’m not blind, plus it feels like waving the white flag to me. I’d rather wave a Jolly Roger.
Wants me to be seen regularly by a glaucoma doc to monitor the optic nerve damage and recommends a consult with a low vision specialist. I’ve been putting off the latter because denial but will follow through now. Oh, yeah, and as expected, no genetic eye disorders.
Swampy, gotta tell ya, your a.m. posts are like an emotional security blanket for me. I find them comforting.
Sahi, I’m vastly impressed by dogs who can fetch mail. I bet they’re good stamp lickers, too.
**
WetOne**, I guess you would see quite a few prisoners. This guy didn’t look at all menacing, which is why I wonder what he was in for. Not that you can tell anything by appearances. I had a student once who looked like a little cherub but killed a deputy (after already in juvie) and stabbed a prison employee. I think he’s still in the poky.
Ruble, I have a friend who can’t remember anything from the 70s because he was on drugs most of that time.
Doggo, huboy70 sounds like an Arkansas moniker, all right. Or maybe someone in his 70’s, like, “HOO boy, I’m 70!”
Moooom I want to go to a Wiggle-Giggle!
Kov, welcome to the MMP!
Mine was more sleep depravation, alcohol, and wild women but there were probably some drugs in the mix as well. I did graduate college after all. ![]()
Squee!!! That pupper is a cutie.
I hope that they get hubby’s ticker issues all sorted out butters. Hugs.
I hope that all goes well for your dean, baker.
Mooooooom, after my mother quit cooking, I cleaned out her spice cabinet at Dad’s request. There was a box of whole nutmeg in there that I remember from when I was a kid.
I got my W2s today, along with the tax statement from Cigna. I’m glad, since the tax bus will be at irk tomorrow and if I don’t have them do the taxes, I have to pay for a preparer to do them.
I have called for all hands on deck at irk tomorrow, as I still have ~$400K worth of inventory that I need to close the books on by EoB Friday. Tonight though, it’s chill time in the studio.
13 hours start to finish on the Miami trip. My foot is swollen but good. I am exhausted. We had our regular appt early at 1030. Doc spent over an hour refreshing his memory on all the tests that were done while we were in horsepistol both times. He went through all the records making notes on the paper on the table. He is a little perplexed. Anyway, liver is doing well after the poison. Kidneys ok. Heart not so much. He had us leave and come back at 330 for a scan of some sort so it was exactly 5 when we got out of there. Rush hour in Miami is not fun. Then when we got back to my island I had to run into the grocery for a few things. Doc has scheduled a cath for Moanday. And here I thought I was going back to irk. I am going Firday and Sat and Sun if needed to do all my eom stuff. Maybe I can get it all done Friday and Sat. Anyway doc said hubby “looks like shit”. And he does. He is so weak and puny and just sad looking.
Did y’all hear about the 7.7 magnitude earthquake near Jamaica yesterday? We didn’t hear or feel anything but it was felt in Miami. Tall skyscrapers were evacuated and checked for structural damage. I have felt an earthquake here when it was on this side of Cuba.
I am hungry but too dang tired to even warm up something. I left some groceries in the car so I have to make one more trip down and up the stairs. We now have lighted stairs though.
Rambling now. Off to find something to take for my foot. Doc prescribed Tylenol #3 with codeine but I need the anti inflammatory properties of ibuprofen.
I hope cow-orker brings her in frequently – on Tuesdays & Thursdays. I love other people’s dogs! ![]()
The hot water line uner the kitchen sink broke. I do not have water, heat (the heater runs off a hot water exchanger), and there is an inch of water in most of the apartment. The hobo life is looking good right about now.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 44 Amurrkin out and mostly cloudy (partly moony?) with a predicted high of 64 and partly cloudy (mostly N.O.S.?) for the day. No big items on today’s agenda. I shall await delivery of my meds via FedEx which will come hopefully this mornin’. I get texts tellin’ me all about the journey of my meds and last one said in transit. I should get a text in a while tellin’ me the meds are on a truck for delivery. I shall also do some rearrangin’ of the pantry as things have gotten a bit unruly once again. Sup shall be leftovers from yestiddy. Also, Netflix shall be binged.
Wait, I’m WHAT?!?!* Also, welcome Kov!
{{{Butters}}} just cause it looks like you could use a hug.
Nellie glad all went well and that you are, by now I presume, back home. Nice of you to say my posts are a comfort. Normally I am described as mostly disturbin’. ![]()
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
