I found it almost amusing how Condi hoped up in boisterous applause each time they had the ceremonial applause.
My personal favorite was when Bush admonished Congress for not following his plans for privatizing SS - and the Democrats stood up and applauded. You could hear the Republicans booing. I was much amused.
ETA: Oops, that was from 2006. I was re-watching clips online and got them mixed up. It’s still amusing though.
I haven’t watched a presidential address since sometime in the Clinton administration. I figure I can read it faster than they present it (assuming I think it’s worth the effort), and there are enough discussion and analyses of them floating around that I’ll get the important parts. I got sick of the annoying politics of it all.
I made the taco meat for the taco dip that I have to take to work tomorrow.

Sure the seventh book was disappointing, but I was still so drawn in to the characters that I cried once, and almost twice.

Morning all, it’s all bright and shiny over here today. Most unusual.
Google Earth is fun, we managed to find our house and then realised how out of date the site is! Ours is the house with the red car outside except I don’t park on the street any more 'cos we had the front paved so there’s no scabby garden any more. And those big trees next door? Well, they’re gone now too, or at least most of 'em are gone ‘cos the owner cut them down to about 3’ high and hasn’t worked out that he might need professional help to get the rest out.
I need caffeine now, 'im indoors woke me up around 3am with his snoring and I just couldn’t get back to sleep. This weekend’s plan now includes buying a single-size airbed to go in the study so I can sleep in there while he’s rumbling away all night. See, we don’t have any spare beds in the house. It’s all part of the eventual renovation plans, except they’re my plans and not his so it’s unlikely they’ll ever happen. But the disturbed nights and general lack of sleep is making me depressed and weepy. That cannot be allowed to continue. Sleep must be had.
Rest of taco salad stuff is done and packed. Just need to throw it into a bag and I’m good to go. Now, what else was I going to do this morning?
