I think YOU look fine but you need a plain solid background IMHO.
Well, they really just want to make sure your face won’t terrify the children, but yeah, I guess I probably should have a solid background. Stupid wall hanging. 
I do kind of like the halo effect of the wall hanging behind you, though. 
Maybe you can just get the background edited out. I mean, the part that’s you is just terrific.
I’ve just been told I’ll be going back to Bilbao week-after-Easter. I asked my agent to work on which part, because really, the way these people keep bouncing me around, it’s like they know I must be useful somehow but can’t figure the “some” part of the “how.” Pay’s still indecent, though, so what the hell.

good news from the doc - I do not have to go for the Rituxan infusion (the thought of it was giving me serious agiada) Instead, they’re sending me to a couple of specialists to evaluate me for participation in a Luipus study (I don’t actually have Lupus, but I have many other things which, when added up, mimic Lupus, and are treated similarly) More on that as the story developes.
You look too happy to be teaching the functional idiots you’ve been describing. You also look extremely young. You can still smile for the photo, but look a little more serious. But why do they want a photo? If they don’t like the way you look, they won’t hire you? (but how could anyone not like the way you look?

I’m not even joking. Korea doesn’t have any policy that prevents people from discriminating based on looks. All resumes, for any job, require a photo. For ESL teachers, they probably want to make sure you’re not black or Middle Eastern or SE Asian . . . any ethnicity other than white or East Asian. It’s getting better, but slowly.

Not surprisingly, DH passed the exam. Now, he’s on the waiting list. The good news is that once he’s accepted to go to the academy, they start paying. The only mystery is where he’ll be assigned. We’re hoping it’ll be “The Q” because it’s close, but with our luck, they’ll place him at Atascadero, which would be a hell of a daily commute.
Uh, that would be first on this page. Besides, I’m 50 miles away right now, in civilization. I have no clue if Clem’s pig shed is a burnin’.

I am vastly hung over today, despite the fact that last night I only had one glass of wine with dinner, and then a fruity martini a couple of hours later. I suspect lack of sleep probably has more to do with why I’m feeling so craptacular - we were out late, and I hadn’t slept well the night before thanks to the heat being out (we have a space heater, but it’s noisy as hell).
On the bright side, the furnace is back in working order. And the repair guys were kind enough to throw in the annual maintenance coverage for free, seeing as they were just over two months ago and didn’t notice the problem then - so any additional problems will be covered by the plan.
Which of course means there won’t be any more problems, because Murphy doesn’t like making trouble when it doesn’t cost me money. 
Wallflower, congrats on having a lovely date. I had a momentary gulp when I saw the “she’s married” bit, but if the husband’s cool with it, then full steam ahead says I!
LiLi, send the chocolate to me if you don’t want it - I’m sure I can make it magically disappear in a couple of sittings, only to have it magically reappear on my midsection a few days later. I’m afraid you’re stuck with the kidling, though.
Haze, you look gorgeous - as always - though I agree that a solid background and slightly more “headshot” type format might be more suitable. The Boy’s company has a similar requirement for resumes submitted to their German division. Apparently, they want to make sure the team all has a similar “look”, so the photos are as big of a concern as a demo reel and resume.

Me too! I’ve seen snippets of that stoopit show in passing, but I don’t watch. In fact, I can’t think of anything about it that appeals to me, based upon what I read and hear. I don’t believe my life is the poorer for missing it.
And, I’m home. My oil change turned into a radiator change. That’s gonna cost a coupla bucks. Oh well. Maybe I’ll get the van back today, maybe tomorrow. Who knows?? And when I got home, I discovered that a certain evil kitteh knocked over a plant. The plant is fine. The carpet got dirted. It’s all been vacuumed now. Stoopit cat.
I’ve got a hunk of corned beef simmering on the stove and I’m about to add the carrots and N.O.T. to the pot. Probably an onion, too. Cabbage will go in last. It smells good already, and I’m hongry!! I was gonna start it in the crock pot, but I forgot to set it up last night, so I’m doing it the old fashioned way. It still works.
And on that note, I’ll pop off to the kitchen to chop up some veggies.

I am back from riding my bike over to the car place to pick up my car. The wind was cold on my hands, but it’s a gorgeous day outside. I could hear the sandhill cranes crying as they flew overhead. They fly so high, it’s very hard to see them sometimes.
Spring is coming!
