Dotty, at least you were able to mostly contain your laughter in front of her. My parents were never that successful.

MsWhatsit, jump on in anywhere, something here for everyone. We’re nice dammit!

Glad your tummy feels better, Swampy.

I didn’t need to go to work today, so I’m just sitting here killing time until L finishes with her meetings and we can chatter about our day. I also have to think about what to have with dinner, I’m making Garlic Cheddar Chicken (I’ve scaled that recipe down). I’m thinking, pasta, of some sort, and something green.

I have a live action version of TwoLumps at home, with the added benefit that I get to giggle over their latest blunder and then giggle again because I’m getting the stink-eye from an offended feline.

Flutterby, consider yourself added on Ravelry… my user name is MahnaMahna (big surprise, huh?) I just have to add that I love love love your blog name, because it incorporates my favourite archaic insult.

Okay, must step away from Ravelry before I add a dozen more projects to my queue. AAARGH.

Thank you. I chose it because… well it describes both me, my knitting and my crafty bend lol. I need to get busier knitting so I can pare down my unfinished projects! (I’ll build them up again, but I want to get some more done before I start more…)

Home, wishing it was Firday. I should call in dead tomorrow, but I’ve got something that has to be done before Weds, so, well, poo - guess I’ll be going in.

I’m not going to try to list my surf destinations because there are way too many. I’m a creature of routines, and while the Dope is usually open in one window, many other things move thru other windows - comics, columns, news sites, social sites, funny sites, random sites, and whatever I think of looking for if I’m bored. Some of my regulars have been mentioned already. But, well, I’m not sure anyone needs to know that much about me… :stuck_out_tongue:

Something is rattling my windows - it sounds like explosions outside. My guess is it might be from the Navy base, altho it’s 20 miles away and the rumbles sound closer. I don’t think the ground here is hard enough to require dynamiting. And it’s way too loud for a fart. Who knows…?

I think I want to go out to dinner tonight. We’ll see what **FCD **thinks when he calls. It’s a secret love test - don’t tell him!

And last but not least:

**Feliz Dia de Nava!!! **

(would you guess I haven’t studied Spanish since 1973?!>)

Happy birthday, Nava! March is a good month for birthdays, IMO.

I’m watching the grooming shop for a few hours, and there’s not much happening here. Though I do have a springer here for daycare who has separation anxiety. He was acting exactly like Rusty for a bit there. He’s settled down now, but he’s still kind of on edge. Silly pup.

Tomorrow is payday! Yay!

*Today * is payday! Yay!

No, payday is definately tomorrow…

I know darn well it’s tomorrow. I just wish it were today!

Hi!

Not catching up to the last page or so… my, you’ve been chatty today

Just dropping in to say it’s been a long day and I. Am. Tired!!!

Yay, boo, etc… as required.

Crazy week - still haven’t had time to read the MMP for the 3rd week in a row. Something about work getting in the way.

I am headed back to the doctor at the urgent care tonight to follow up on the blood tests he had taken and to see if the blood pressure medicine has kicked. I have also made an appointment at a regular family practice doctor for next week so I can be monitored.

I was at Stanford University yesterday - I had hoped some of the ‘smart’ would rub off on me.

It didn’t.

other than that not much going on. oo oo oo Mr ems-to-be and I are getting on great living together other than he can cheerfully ignore the dirty socks on the floor and walk past the empty garbage can on the street after collection day

Actually, payday is next Firday - biweekly, you know…

We didn’t go out to eat. FCD just didn’t feel like it. So I made myself a sammich, and he’s eating leftover veggies.

I got my van back - it was under $500, so there’s that. But it seems to be driving as well as it ever has. We’ve replaced so much over the last 3 years, it’s almost like a new car inside, right?? Except for the engine and the transmission and the body and the radio and the cruise control… Anyway, I think I’ll do fine driving it to FL one more time. Dragging a trailer. Rah.

So, we’re in chill mode. Just gotta get thru tomorrow…

I can’t decide what to have for dinner. I’m thinking eating out would be good too. We’ll have to see what KeithT says though. We may have a dinner sort of like **FCM **and FCD’s.

Dinner at casa de ems will be citris lime marinaded chicken with baked sweet potato and green beans

That looks yummy. :: bookmarks for future reference ::

I feel kinda off today, for some reason. Like I ate something that disagreed with me, only not that bad. I feel like I’ve been eating terribly and not exercising enough this week. I’ll try doing some yoga tomorrow, I guess. And maybe cut down on the cigs.

Yay for payday tomorrow.

Epic-level shed. BWAAAHAAAHAAAHAAAHAAA that was fun-nee!

Wallflower that recipe is drool worthy. It shall make a near future appearance on the menu at Chez swampy.

And now some TMI. You are forewarned.

Imagine if you will talkin’ to somebody who’s wantin’ some inshurnce. That’s a good thing for me cause I make money doin’ just that among other things. So, I ask all the usual questions, give the gentleman some quotes that are reasonable because of his overall general good health and whatnot. We get to the application, which is recorded to make sure that everything is done like it’s supposed to be. Part of the process is a series of health questions. One of the questions go sump’n like, have you been diagnosed, treated for, or advised to seek treatment for a big long list of medical like problems. That’s a paraphrase of the question of course cause I don’t like have an app in front of me to quote from so I don’t remember what all the medical like stuff is and besides, do you really care. Anywho, he answers no to the question (good cause in order to qualify he must answer no) but adds… ready for this… remember I said TMI
Wait for it…

Wait for it…

Remember I warned y’all… TMI AHEAD

*“I’ve had syphillis and gonohreea twice, does that count?” *

On the recording he said this. A recording that must be burned on DVD and sent down for the underwriting department and policy services to hear. I envision much  to happen when they hear this one.

BTW, no they don’t count, he still qualified for the good rates.

I don’t want to hear a word. I said TMI didn’t I?

Well, at least he was honest!

I’ve decided that Sammy the neurotic springer is Rusty’s evil twin. Fraternal, I guess, but he’s got both the anxiety and the total sweetness going. The two of us got along just fine, needless to say. But it was a bit weird.

Somebody Up There can’t decided whether it’s supposed to snow or not today. We keep getting these brief heavyish showers followed by bright sunlight, and it’s been going back and forth all afternoon. Right now it’s sunny. But in a minute it could be snowing again, for all I know. Weird. I think we got maybe a couple of inches total in shady spots, so it’s not like we got a lot, but it’s been coming and going.

I’m weirded out enough by snow in March, without it snowing weirdly on top of it!

**swampy: ** Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. <-----not a word, so it doesn’t count. :stuck_out_tongue:

I go lots of places. My regular, everyday ones are: SDMB, Skip’s place, Una’s place, GoodReads, LJ, various e-mails, 30 boxes (calendar).

Semi regular include Fathom, Classic Bloom County, xkcd, two lumps, LiLi’s blog, You Tube, Wikipedia, several German newspapers and TV stations. Oh and 30-second bunnies theatre.

Oh, one of my favorites of late is NPR. Their music page has lots and lots of cool links on it, with lots of concerts.

For food, I like this blog, and Pioneer Woman Cooks and Epicurious and allrecipes.

And my home page is a protopage where I can neatly organize all the places I like to go and get to my favorites no matter where I’m logging in from.

I, too, spend too much time on the internet. I make up for that by not watching TV. So, I’ve never seen AI either.

I miss Pie. And Shadow.

Hi Ms Whatsit! ::waves::

I’m sure I’ve missed several things I wanted to say, but I need to get a few things done - I think my brother and his kids are going to be here most of the weekend…

Back later.

GT

Eeep. My brother hasn’t called his kids in two days. Ex-SIL called because they hadn’t heard from him. I think he must have either lost his phone or his charger. (I called the hotel he was at and he checked out this morning.) Apparently he hasn’t heard of sending an e-mail to say that he can’t call.

I’m hoping that that’s all it is. Not knowing makes me a worrywart, of course. Good vibes, please?

GT

P.S. Where is everybody?

Evenin’ everyone. It’s been a hell of a busy week at work.

Yesterday, I worked out for 2.5 hours and really pushed myself because I felt guilty for missing Monday. Today, for the first time, I feel sore. Well, the tops of my thighs are really sore. It’s murder going up and down the stairs here.

My Dad came to visit me at work and have lunch with me today. It was nice. We had a nice visit, but then I had to get back to my office to work.

Happy Birthday Nava!

Big hugs to Pie. I hope you’re doing better soon.

Swampy, that was just…ewwwww! Who the hell admits that kind of stuff?!

I am not an American Idol watcher either. I consider that show complete and utter drivel. Actually, I don’t really care for any of those types of shows. I don’t watch Big Brother, Survivor or any of those primetime game shows. I think they’re stupid and boring as hell.

I visit many websites, but stick mainly to the SDMB, Skip’s place, my e-mail and many news sites. I am a news junkie.

I hope all is well with your brother, GT.

I guess I need to get ready to go out to dinner. Today is our friend’s 46th birthday and he wants to go to the Outback. I plan on being a good girl and eating light.

Well I did it.

I just submitted my vision statement to be considered for Chair of my division after the current Chair retires this spring.

What the frack was I thinking… remorse, remorse! No, I want this. Ack, remorse!

I need a drink.
