The moment all you MADs have been waiting for... Gettysdope II!

Speaking of the book exchange – whaddya say we all write our usernames in the books we bring, so whoever grabs them will know where they came from?

Tris, please check your email and voicemail. We have another passenger to coordinate.

TwoTrouts, I’ll have my 14-year-old along; although she’s not your typical 14-year-old; more of a geek. Still, charming and able to hold a conversation. ;j

Smilies added at the request of mudgirl. they have no bearing on the actual post.

I’m bringing Fluxx and a bunch of other games, including Chronology. I also have Settlers, Seafarers, and Knights of Cataan. If anyone’s interested in playing them, let me know before about 8:00 tomorrow morning and I’ll bring them along. I’ve also got brownies and chips for a contribution to the food.

Dances With Cats, if you could e-mail me your cell-phone number, I’ll give you a call when we get close. Right now, I’ve no idea what time we’re leaving tomorrow morning.

See you tomorrow!
CJ

Oh, and add yet another guest from the new household; hubby’s brother from out of town is visiting, and tomorrow is the only day he has with us, so we’re bringing him along!

I know that Verrain, for one, is a huge Catan fan, so you’d have him to play along if you brought it. I might even be convinced to sit in a game or two.

Back from Wal-Mart.

I have 44 sets of those Hefty interlocking plates, one huge-ass roll of foil, and one roll of Saran Wrap. That should be adequate.

Robin

Alright, the back seat of my car is now stuffed with paper plates, napkins, plasticware and big plastic cups. I also am bringing name tags and a Sharpie marker or two that can do dual duty for nametags and cup-labeling. Am planning to leave here around 9-10 am and arrive around 11 am- noon, it looks like.

How many kids are coming? Because foil + marker+ napkins+ plasticware= really cool foil masks.

Oh, and I also got a couple packs of those animal-face paper plates for the kids. Aaron is coming, BTW, but Airman is not.

Robin

Personally, I wouldn’t schlep the table & chairs Madd Maxx as there is a slew of picnic tables at the pavilion.

Anyone who chooses to have a heat related malady is in luck-we’re across the street from Gettysburg Hospital, however the management requests that nobody gets sick, ill, burned, stung, run over, or otherwise mangled. Thanky.

No pool or pond Two Trouts but we will arrange for mud. It’s a prerequisite, and I’m sure mudgirl will share.

Siege-check your email.

For anyone who wants to pick up stuff locally, those coming via the turnpike will pass Mall-Wart, Giant Supermarket, Sheetz (gas station/convenience) and a beer distributor (ice) enroute to the park. If you’d like to land first, stretch, and hit the comfort station, Kennie’s market is a few blocks away from the park.

The propane grille has been test run and cleaned, broom and trash bags loaded, the Kittenator howled outside the kitchen window as the chili meat cooked, and we’re set on this end. Safe travels, all. See you tomorrow!

Great (about the plates, not about Airman not coming). Mudgirl likes Zoo Pals plates almost as much as she likes mud.

ahem

I said, “I’m not going to make it!”
(stamps foot for attention)

But it does sound like a great time will be had by all (somehow, w/o moi) and I wish we could get something together like that here in Michigan, less than 8 hours from my home. Ya’ll will post pictures, right?

Don’t forget… bring extra clothing!

This is a reminder for me, since Aaron is attracted to mud like bees are attracted to flowers.

Robin

Do you have to be a kid to get a Zoo Pals plate, or can those of us who are merely immature get in on that action?

Is it Leave Your Husband At Home week? Should I just bring the food and sneak out before supervenusfreak gets back from his morning session?

Well, jayjay, I’m leaving the Kangaroo_in_Black at home.

But that’s because he works very late nights and needs to sleep.

Oh, no. Immature persons are welcome to get a Zoo Pals plate.

Robin

As with Airman. This week has been crazy for both of us. I just got home yesterday after spending a week riding herd over eight teenagers while trying to teach them radio. Airman took leave for the two days he had to work this week, so his schedule is all wonky. Me not being here gives him time to sleep it off.

Now if I could only sleep it off, I’d be happy.

Robin

Don’t you all worry, I’m bringing extra cups for the cup thing.

(Hey, we’ve got to at least try it…)
