I’ve got a medium cooler and a big one – you want one or both of them?
You know those big orange drink coolers that construction places always have on the back of the trucks? I have one. I will bring it full of just plain Ice, and if anyone wants to use that for drinks, that will be cool. (Snarf snarf, snuffle, I crack me up!)
I won’t put the Kimchi inside of it.
Tris
And we all thank you for that clarification.
If we have three or four big un’s, that ought to suffice-better more than enough than a shortage.
You’re a card Tris-you will be dealt with.
How about the mini-fridge? Are there electrical outlets at the pavilion?
CJ
Yes, outlets are present, and I brought cords/outlet expanders last year. If someone wanted to bring one, it would be a good idea to be an early bird so the box has some time to chill down.
Don’t worry – we can run it off the car’s electricity while we’re driving out. A four hour drive should get it nice and cool, even the way the weather’s been around here lately.
I’m so glad, Bryan. I haven’t seen you in ages!
Tris, we should try to drive up together. I’ll email you in a couple of weeks to see if we can coordinate.
Anita,
Works for me! I think you have my phone number.
I don’t know if my son is interested at all, and since he will be very recently returned from overseas, he could well be rather busy.
Even so, we can fit three in Toyota.
Tris
I have a friend who has said she’d like to come along. If we have enough, we can go in my bozo bus.
Any other NoVa MADS want to hop on?
I’d like to, since my mother has informed me that I most likely will not be allowed to drive that far by then, but she knows you, so she should be fine with you driving me. I’ll give you an update as soon as possible.
Well, it looks like we may all be Bozos on this bus!
Tris
Has anyone heard from Polycarp and Skulldigger regarding this event?

For those who need directions, worry not. The directions page from last year will be posted when we draw closer to the event, and for anyone who would like to purchase something nearby, there are two markets available-one a few blocks, and another a few miles away.
My cell phone number will be provided to anyone who emails to request same: danceswithcats@att.net
Anyone who plans on staying over should make haste to book a room. Email the above addy if you’d like help with that-distance from event, and other good stuff.
Also, twickster has added book exchange to the mix. Bring texts you’d like to see in the home of another doper.
In regards to my earlier request for someone to split a hotel room with me - I have a friend from college who works at the Holiday Inn Express in Hanover (which I think is where a bunch of us stayed last year) who got me a room for a ridiculously cheap price, so I don’t need someone to split with anymore. Thanks for the offers, though, those of you who offered.
Unless someone thinks it’s a bad idea (or just unnecessary), I plan to bring bottled water and soda, 'cause I think that trying to provide beverages for 46 people (if I added correctly) is a bit much for just one person to handle. (Frank #2 is the only other person I see planning to bring soda.)
Is anyone bringing plastic cups and a marker? Two-liter bottles are much cheaper than individual cans/bottles, so there would be more liquid available.
Since I’m already bringing plates and plasticware, I might as well pick up cups, and I can certainly bring part of my vast collection of Sharpies.
Which also makes me wonder, is anyone bringing nametags? Not completely necessary, but would be helpful, especially for first-timers.
A quick heads up. As I mentioned elsewhere in MPSIMS, I’m going in for knee surgery this week and I’m not entirely sure how mobile I’ll be by Gettysdope. I’m still planning on attending with both guys, but the brownies may not be homemade, depending on what the doctor says I can and cannot do. At least I should be off the medications.
CJ
Your presence will be treat enough.
Speaking of which, HAS anyone heard anything at all from Poly?
I’m not sure what I’m bringing yet, but I know that I’ll be there.
My remaining cat is so far cancer-free.
