I actually got off my ass this morning and went to Services. The fishing gods grudgingly blessed my sacrifice of nightcrawlers allowing me to catch 7 bluegills, of which 2 were barely keepable. All lived to bite hooks another day.
In a shock to me and probably to no other MMPers, I saw direct evidence that there are beavers in Southerne Merrylande. Get your minds out of the gutter, I’m talking 4-legged furry ones with flat tails, not 2-legged furry ones with flat tails. Several small trees in one of my favorite fishing cove were chewed down and stripped of bark, and a couple larders were evident in the water. I didn’t see a lodge anywhere, however.
More yahd irk is on The List for today. After my late morning Sunday nap.
I liked the orchestra concert I saw on Friday night so I went and saw it again last night. Flexatone solos and bass oboe solos for the win! Went out partying with the orchestra afterwards. good times.
I went up and down the mountain today. I stopped off at the Big Rock with a Prickly Pear on It and basked in the sun like a lizard. A couple of guys from Foreign Lands came by and admired the cactus. Then they started watching videos from Foreign Lands on their phones, so I went back downhill.
There’s a new gas station at the Inglés on the main drag. I stopped there and cleaned all the dust off my back windshield. Going up and down the dirt road takes its toll on visibility.
Two days of irk hell done, Kool and the Gang and Roller Derby Girls. Ya’ll get three guesses about which one I enjoyed more and two of em don’t count.
Rosie, hope the new apt works out for you
Spidey, off to the Republik Czechy already, don’t forget the statue of Jesus and the clock.
Swampy, you do realize that SHARKS live in salt water. Silly bear, you are building your own trap for me.
I am sure that I have missed something but I have a great partaay to get to…
Cheers all
Oh, one more thing
“tis better to regret something you have done than regret something you haven’t done, and by the way, when you see your Mom this weekend be sure and tell her…Satan.”
Did you get all Palmed out swampy? We too sang All Glory, Laud and Honor. I think it’s a requirement on Palm Sunday, like singing Jesus Christ is Risen Today on Easter. Even when I was Lutheran we always sang those two on those days.
Home from deheathenization which was large and long. Anywho, N.O.L. has been et and I’ve made tuna and chikin sallit, so Go Me!
DeathMistress we did indeed get all palmed out. It’s good when the weather cooperates and we can start outside in the memorial garden and proceed (process?) into the church wavin’ palms and carryin’ on. The service ended with the readin’ of The Passion Gospel and then everyone processin’ out in silence. A good start to Holy Week.
Ok, gonna go put a load of whitestuff in the washer. It’s a neverendin’ loop of excitatement heah at da cave.
Break time. Cracker Barrel and WalMart were accomplished without benefit of curlers, muu-muus, or slippers of any description. The shed is re-roofed, altho we had to make a run for the special nails - we needed 3 boxes, not 2. All nails are out of the studs and rafters, rafters have been sprayed with bug killer, and I vacuumed up a pile of dead ants, so yay for that. **FCD **plugged up all the bee holes in the shed - many unhappy bees buzzing about.
Bedspread is washed and hanging on the line. I need to head back out and help my sweetie install a shelf. I’s tahred!!!
For the first time in many years the weekend schedule of family members will prevent a good part of us from getting together on Easter for dinner. So we are doing it today.
My contribution, as is usual, is the bread. Usually for Easter I do croissants made from scratch, but this time I’m departing from tration and have bread rolls rising. Included in the dough is a veggie/herb mix I use at work. I process together fresh basil leaves, sundried tomatos, fresh garlic cloves, and chopped onion. I freeze 6 ounce packets of it to use all winter, and it was part of one packet that went into the dinner roll dough.
Short break, then short return to work, and now we’re done for the day. We installed a shelf over the mulcher/vac parking space - it’ll be home for various yard tools. Neither of us was up to any more labor, so my sweetie is in the shower, and I’ll hop in there next. Well, not hop, but sorta mosey… I’s tahred!!
Supper will be choice of leftovers. I’m not up to cooking and I don’t want to go out. There’s one piece of quiche, half a lasagne - I didn’t put it in the freezer yet - some sliced poke, and I think that’s it - I ate the leftover chickie-n-dumplins, sans dumplins, for lunch.
Tomorrow, we’ll install a few more shelves, then remove the tools that belong in FCD’s shop, bring in the mulcher/vac, the push mower, and whatever else we feel like moving. I’m also going to take buckets of the dirt we dug out for the ramp and fill the trenches in the yard that the shed mover left us. Then I’ll seed it and a few other areas that are more dirt than grass.
I’m still exhausted, but at least I’m clean. Supper will be lasagne - it’s in the oven right now. **FCD **is snoozing on the couch. Life is exciting at FairyChatEstates!
Just saw the listing for the house across the street. It’s the same house as ours, except the basement is fully finished with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, so it lists with twice the square footage. Five BR, 3 bath, 3.63 acres, $339,990. It’ll be interesting to see what it goes for. I hope they post photos soon - I’m nosy!
I figured it would be coming on the market - I hadn’t seen the old lady who lived there for a long time. Either she died or went into assisted living/nursing home. I’m guessing with 5 bedrooms, we’ll be looking at a family full of kids. We shall see…
