You can take medicine for that.
I worked. I worked at another store. The Canes did not work tonight. I’m off tomorrow.
They’re jerks. Except for the one gal who threw herself at me because I did her dishes.
Nah, it’s the Bovril that makes it fast.
2 year old beer? :eek::eek:
I had the couth. the the doc gave me antibiotics.
Good luck, Sticky!
You are all wrong. The worst drivers are from Rhode Island. They make Massholes look like little old ladies on their Sunday outings.
In other news, you know you are in Cranston, RI when you are motoring up I-95 and notice a 14" RAT perambulating across the highway.
Sounds like the Real Life section in this article would interest some of you.
The concert was wonderful!
People who think North American drivers are bad have never been to Italy.
Still… sometimes I miss Italy. And other things. And other people… sigh
Seems like we should be asking Ace’s husbands, Sari’s OAOASO, and RT who the worst drivers are. Of course you’d probably have to be specific because I’m pretty sure RT would say people in cars!
I woke up early (surprise, surprise) and I’m here chilling out until it’s time to go.
Driving in Europe is a constant source of entertainment, although I think I am permanently mentally scarred after driving through Rome. I hired a car in Jamaica once and was warned to be careful on the out-of-town roads because people drive on whichever side of the road has the shade. In Turkey I had to test the brakes very quickly after going round a corner and straight into a herd of goats. And we will not even begin to discuss the combined lunacy of drivers in Moscow…
I am at irk, I am irked. Exam preparation is under way and I have just been informed that one of the other Schools has just decided to look at students who are under-registered for credits and start worrying about what they should be registered for. Turns out most of them are unregistered for language modules in my dept so that is throwing the exams office into a hissy fit.
Fortunately tonight is pub night.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 52 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 72 for the day. Looks like it might be a foggy mornin’ which I hate cause I hates drivin’ in fog.
Rosie indeed, I am very kempt and sheveled. Well, except for right now cause I have not undergone my purtification ritual.
StickyBuns appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the interview.
Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffiene and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.
Happy Hump Day Y’all! Sean this is especially for you.
StickyBuns, my husband gets irked driving through DC. He despises it more than driving in Chicago, I think. :dubious:
Good morning. I’m awake, because the cats were using me as a springboard. I’ll be glad to have my bedroom back. If those insurance people don’t get their act together soon, so help me, I’m going to go the rest of the way insane. I might add, that at this point, it’s not gonna be a very long trip.
I hope you all have a good day!
Good morning!
And although I never drove there myself, I was going somewhere in Spain where I watched FOUR VEHICLES passing abreast. That is, there was a car in the right lane, then a car passing him, and another car passing the second one and yet another car passing the third one - we were in a bus going in the opposite direction. Amazingly enough, there was no collision, but there was a wee bit of concern in the bus.
Also in Spain - in the Rota area, I saw a family of 5 on a scooter. I’m surprised the scooter could scoot!!
Just finished a slice of quiche for breakfast - very yum! **FCD **just turned on the shower - I thought he was going to sleep in! Bets on whether ShedGuy comes today?? It’s going to be nice and sunny, so he should. Since it will be nice and sunny, I’ll be out there picking up sticks and branches and hauling them to the back corners of the yard to rot. Try not to envy my exciting life.
Happy Wednesday!!
Blurf. My alarm clock worked today, unlike yesterday. But gotta go off to work and stuff.
Funny thing is, I actually did plant tarragon, but forgot to mention it, then was scrolling through posts, saw your user name, and was like :smack: DUH!.
I could really use a nap. I think I got 6 hours of sleep in last two nights. Slept for the first couple of hours then woke up and just laid there with my eyes closed tired as heck, but unable to make that last leap back into sleep. I is dragging.
Jynxster Mom had scheduled rotater cuff surgery yesterday, everything went well. It only took 30 minutes to do. She is doing ok according to Jynxster Dad. He is referring to her as the English Patient . She had the other one done a couple years back so she knows what to expect.
Good morning everyone. At least I think it’ll be a good morning. I won’t know until lunch rolls around and I count the bodies piled up around my cubicle.
Morning, Mumpers. I has a blurf. My parents just sent me the itinerary for the vacation they’re taking next week. It’s like they’re rubbing it in my face. “Oh, here’s where we’ll be in Spain, and then in France, just in case you need us while you’re sitting in your beige, boring house.” Thanks, Dad. Although the pictures they send back are usually pretty amusing–there’s always one of Dad with an animal. In Switzerland he got in trouble for trying to pet working dogs, a camel ate his hat in Jordan, and I vividly remember a childhood trip to Maine where he got chased down a beach by a flock of seagulls (the actual birds, not the band) because he had a sandwich. At least they’re having fun while they spend my inheritance.
Gah too early!
Have to leave for work soon to hit a press conference announcing the opening day of DC’s Potholepalooza, and then spend the day working a pothole story. And dodging BMWs.
Fortunately I get to drive directly to the site in SE DC which is easier to make from my abode (GPS says 35 mins from home, budgeting an hour), as opposed to driving to NW DC to pick up my reporter (1.5 - 2 hrs in rush) then return to SE DC (.75 - 1.5 hrs in rush) for the story.
And on top we’re now in “NO OT” mode for awhile, so at least I’ll get out of town earlier.
Weekend forecast looks pretty decent. Might have to take the boat out for a spin, just to get psyched for the new year…
And he ran, he ran so far away…
Back from the gym. First load is in the washer, and it’s confirmed that ShedGuy isn’t coming today. He said he’ll be here tomorrow. If he’s not, I think we’ll be asking for our deposit back and we’ll find someone else. This is beyond stupid. The thing that really irritates me - if we don’t call him, he doesn’t call us. If he’d called on Monday and said “I’ll be there Thursday” that would have been fine. But when I talked to him last week, he said “Monday, Tuesday for sure…” GAH!
As we left the gym, we ran into our realtor - the one who sold us this house. She didn’t exactly remember us, but she remembered the mushroom wall covering in the kitchen - that cracks me up! Anyway, sari, if you get fed up with your realtor and decide you want to look in southern Merrylande, I’ll give you her name and number - I thought she was great!
I’ve got 2 or 3 loads of laundry to get out, then I’ll play in the yard for a while. I see a productive day ahead!
Relevant to nothing:
I stopped reading the Chicago Sun-Times online a while back when they, like a lot of other papers, started charging me to read it on the internets.
Today I had to peek quickly hoping to find a specific article.
Did you know that right there at the top of the page is a link to The Straight Dope?
I’m up and caffeinated. Gordie has had his morning conniption at the Boxer Twins. I foresee laundry today.
Atlanta, GA has some interesting drivers.
How do you calculate the optimum number?
:dubious:
