The n00bing of the MMP -- a tale of hubris and temerity

If at all possible I will do whatever it takes to not drive in or round Etlanner. Unfortunately sometimes one cannot avoid it but I hates it I does.

So I’ve been on the phone with someone who was in the kitchen at the church house. It was an innerestin’ conversation which consisted of me askin’ if such and such is in the pantry or fridge and her sayin’ yes or no. Thus, I now have a list of stuff I know needs to be bought for fish ‘n chips other than fish which I already knew. The Pubic Sto’ has a box of filets for me on reserve so I just may go shoppin’ this evenin’ and get everything and get it over to the church house kitchen just cause. Then I could be all leisurely on my day off Firday.

Irk is bein’ pretty much less irkskome so far. Webinar (I hate that word!) at ten o’ clock. Rah. Thus I may chime in here from time to time to relieve the boredom.

First load of laundry is on the lines - over half of the lines, to be specific. We had lots of unders and socks today! I’ve got a load of jeans next, but I don’t know if I’ll have enough space for a 3rd load - I may just save that till tomorrow. We shall see…

And I think I’ll build a lasagne tonight for supper tomorrow. I need to go buy some mozzarella. And mushrooms. Gotta have lots of mushrooms!

I don’t feel good. I think I’m getting a sinus infection, or it’s allergies. I don’t feel bad enough to stay home though. I just feel icky.

I think I will have a vegetarian dinner tonight. For some reason this morning I decided I wanted to eat less animal protein so tonight I plan on making grilled portobellos with sketti sauce and cheese. That is, if I live long enough.

Happy Hump Day!

It’s bright, it’s sunny, it’s warm, it just might be SPRING!

Still ::waiting waiting waiting::

Can’t blame the realtor for this though, it’s the bank. I keep checking the status of it and the other one, both still active. I showed the pictures to Sah-son, he likes the one that has the offer, he doesn’t like the backup one. No matter, he doesn’t want to participate in the search so his opinion doesn’t count. He doesn’t want to move anyway.
My mother would love to have him stay with her.
I hope he comes with me but it’s his choice.
So her bf is going to be in the hospital for a week, I don’t know if she is staying there the whole time or if she plans on coming back here. I guess I should call her but I’d rather wait and let her call me.

I asked OAOASO and I specified by state otherwise I’m sure the answer would have been women. He says VA are the worst. I think he is referring to 495 though, 495 is crazy.

He thinks women have a harder time understanding how trucks work, need more turning room, more time to stop, that the driver can’t see you if you are too close. The last accident he had was when he was turning right and a woman in a small car zipped up on his right trying to beat him into the shopping center. He clipped her bumper. He says women do that kind of stuff all the time, men not so much.

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, the dog is pooping…

Webinar (I hate that word!) has been survived. We had a test. I scored a hunnert percent. Go Me! It was stoopid. The webinar (I hate that word!) and the test that is. Stoopid. Both of 'em.

Next up N.O.L.

I am hungry and ready for N.O.L. I don’t know what I am having.
Usually on pizza day I get the 3 sub special and get two for me and one for Sah-son plus his pizza. So we get two days out of one order. Yesterday I got two subs for him and one for me so I have no leftovers to heat up.

Back from grocery shopping - I did well with coupons today, so yay! And I’ve got what I need to make lasagne, plus other stuff. Still not sure what supper will be tonight - I may pull some salmon out of the freezer.

Gotta change my shoes and go outside and do some work. Eventually. Maybe. I’m in a lazy mood today - probably from staying up past 11 last night, then getting up before 6 this morning. Am I turning into a night person??

OK, quit distracting me - I have work to do!!

Laterz!!

I am very much looking forward to going outside, buying some lunch, and then sitting in the sunshine and reading trash. We’re in the four-week window of early spring when the sun isn’t trying to murder me, so I’ll make the best of it.

Driving in Seattle and the surrounding area is no cup of tea either. People are dumb, no matter what kind of vehicle they drive.

One of my husband’s biggest complaints as a semi driver is cars cutting into the space ahead of him in bad weather. The drivers don’t seem to be aware of the very long stopping distance required by semis, especially in bad weather.

I took the day off today because I wasn’t feeling well. I slept in until about 8:30, but once my stomach settles a little more, I plan to do some laundry and clean up the kitchen.

I need to start prepping for my weekend trip across the state for Mom’s Weekend at my son’s university. He asked me to leave fairly early Friday morning, because he’d like me to attend a seminar in one of his classes. He’s going to receive 25 extra credit points if I go. Being ever the mom who wants her children to do well, I will leave in plenty of time to arrive for the seminar. It’s a five and half hour drive, barring no traffic problems over the pass.

Laundry time!

Break time!!!

Five cartloads of yard debris later, I think I deserve a break. I picked up sticks and raked out front, then **FCD **came out and we picked up sticks and raked where the shed is going to go. He’s almost finished painting his gas tank - pics soon!

And I’ve decided supper is grab whatever. We’ve got leftovers and miscellaneous stuff that’s quick and easy. I just don’t feel like cooking, plus I need to assemble a lasagne this evening - it needs to sit in the fridge overnight. We do have a real dessert, tho - Food Lion had a carrot cake bar cake for $4 and it just leapt into my cart. Can you imagine???

Average out the # of bodies over the elapsed time between first and last (bodies/hour), and then graph it against previous days’ results. Very subjective, not objective.

Wow, my hubby got home early today. Freight was slow, so after several loads, they sent him home. He’s been driving for this company for a little over 25 years now. He did the first three, almost four years as an OTR driver, then came home to drive locally. While he was OTR, he was also a driver trainer. He’s got some pretty hairy stories from that time.

I’ve got the kitchen cleaned up and am on my second load of laundry. I really need to vacuum. Polar hair is everywhere.

I work until 3:00 tomorrow, and then am taking off early for a color job and haircut. I am in dire need of both and my stylist was kind enough to get me in before I leave for Pullman on Friday morning.

I just got off the phone with my son. He was calling to tell me that his phone screen got cracked when some drunk girl grabbed it from him and dropped it face first on a hard floor. He is not happy. We have insurance, but unfortunately, we’ll have to mail the phone in for replacement or repair and pay a deductible. The girl who broke it is going to pay for it, so I guess that’s nice. It wasn’t a cheap phone. We just bought it in December too. Sigh…:frowning: Oh well, stuff happens and that’s why we have insurance.

He asked me again if I was going to go Global Case Competition with him and I assured him I that I was planning on attending and is why I opted to leave earlier than I had originally planned. He told me he knew it was a long drive and thought that maybe I’d choose to just relax. I assured him I’d get there in plenty of time to relax for a couple of hours before the competition, and that I was happy to attend.

We are waiting for the assets manager. I’m feeling like as long as it’s taking we could take the ets off the title.
I told my neighbor realtor that knowing my luck the day they turn me down is the day the other house gets a contract.

I need some chocolate. I wonder if there is a stash around here that I can raid.

Laundry is down, folded, and put away. I just ate some quiche because I was hongree!!! I need to take a shower - before bed at least. And I just this second remembered that I need to get out a sack of sketty sauce for the lasagne. Doggone it, I should have gotten it out this morning.

I think I’ll have some of the strawberries I bought the other day. Yum!
