Its just simple honesty, if i was in a relationship with someone i’d like to know if my SO is making out with other people, at that point it should be Roys desicion wether to continue with the relationship or not.
That’s what I thought, too. When Michael and Dwight were driving to the party, Jan wanted to blow off the party and go to a hotel. Michael has some freakish hold on Jan.
Here’s why I think Pam confessed: they were playing that quarters drinking game, and Roy could tell the quarter was under Pam’s hand. He said something like, “I can see right through you-- you can’t hide anything from me!” Pam didn’t like that, and I think she wanted to prove that she could and DID keep something from Roy. She wanted to bust his belief that he just knew her through and through, that she was predictable. And boy did she ever. I’m sure she had no idea that he would freak out to that extent, though I bet she was hoping to shake him up a bit, make him take her a little less for granted. She’s not his little safe Pammy anymore, ya know? Other men are interested in her, and she’s got more going on than just being Roy’s GF.
Hope Jim doesn’t get his ass kicked too badly.
We have to consider the possibility that, despite being a total buffoon, Michael Scott might just be really awesome in bed.
Some good lines:
Jim - “I don’t really like talking paper outside of work…or at work”
Karen [regarding the merger] - “…actually, I’m the only one left. The others either quit or were fired. One’s in Anger Management…”
When have we ever seen Roy be abusive? I’ve only really seen him portrayed as kind of dumb, self-centered former PA high school jock.
Here’s what I predict. The convergence of Angry Roy, Assertive Pam, and Practical Joking Karen will force Jim to make some difficult choices.
Were there any other D-M employee’s still at Poor Richard’s when Roy had his blow-up or had they all left by that time?
I’m just wondering if word will get around the office of the occurance or if no one was there to witness it.
Even if they did, they won’t know why he blew his top. Pam only knows that he is angry about the incident, not that he made the threat.
I wasn’t wowed with the episode. I think the writing is very inconsistent this year.
I thought that Jan attacked Michael in the bathroom because he was really embarrassing her. She took him aside to explain to him why he was being a buffoon, then realized that he just. didn’t. get. it. So she abandoned that idea and resorted to trying to screw him. It accomplished two things: It kept him away from speaking (and further embarrassing her) and fulfilled her sexual appetite.
I also thought that Karen didn’t look as pretty as she usually looks. Maybe she was ill.
I thought Toby was cute. Thought Roy was insane.
Emotionally, not physically.
Again, when? Roy just about always has been portrayed as a bit of a dolt relationship wise, but I’d argue for him to be considered emotionally abusive would require at least some intent, of which I don’t believe any such thing has ever been portrayed.
Also, Jan was totally just wanting to make out with Michael, it’s part of her bizarro masochistic psyche, to argue she was trying to teach him a leason has no basis in the way their relationship has been constructed up to this point. Why would anyone think Michael could pick up on the subtle nature of such a “lesson” if he can’t grasp the same point when it is actually spelled out for him by Jan, repeatedly?
This sort of fits what we know about Michael. They’ve made it pretty clear that as thoroughly incompetent as he is as a manager or in any group setting, he got where he is because he’s a ninja when it comes to one-on-one sales calls.
His relationship with Jan is the same way–it works when it’s just the two of them.
Hey, have it your way. It’s a sitcom, not life.
Excellent deleted scenes at nbc.com.
[slight hijack] Why is it that whenever I try to view a deleted scene from nbc.com, I get the message that it’s not available in my area? I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. Can I get these clips elsewhere or fool the site into thinking I live somewhere that can access the clips?
Yep, there are internet address maskers out there. I Googled “hide my internet address” and got a bunch of hits.
Thanks!
Almost forgot - this week’s litigation value: $75,000. Interesting that she has actually drafted “love contracts”, but she is dubious as to their enforceability.
At the end of s.1’s episode “The Alliance” Jim runs behind Pam’s desk to tell her that he’s convinced Dwight to dye his hair and spy on the Stamford branch. They’re leaning into each other and giggling and Roy walks in on them. He goes fairly ballistic and says, “Trying to cop a feel, Halpert?” Jim backs away and both try to stammer out some sort of plausible explanation. Roy is very menacing and though he never actually touches Jim it’s pretty clear that he could be.
