Not as good as last week’s episode, but good. Nice to see Roy again.
Did Roy invite Jim & Pam just so he could show them how successful he was? Very good. And I get his warehouse buddies being there, but why Phyllis?
Sad to find out that little Dwight is a creep.
Maybe that’s the point: inviting his warehouse buddies, plus Jim and Pam, would make it kinda obvious; sending invitations to everybody at that office reduces the obviosity, especially if Phyllis shows up.
Plus they shared the warehouse with Vance Refrigeration, right?
Maybe Phyllis invited him to her wedding and he was just returning the favour.
Clearly the writers/director have a vendetta against Phyllis (and seem to be trying to minimize her on the show) so I think they used the warehouse connection with Vance to justify sending Phyllis to the party.
The Nelly and Dwight scene was incredibly forced but very funny the further they pushed it.
I really think that the whole show is just hanging on by momentum at this point. Not much material left to use.
My DVR cut off the last few moments… I saw that Dwight and Nelly were still watching the movie. Did they say anything or did anything else happen… or did it just end with them still watching?
I don’t think so. I think Roy had become an actual nice guy and was sucessful on top of it. It made it all the more painful to Jim & Pam since it was genuine.
Since the writers can pretty much take the show in any direction they want, it all being fictional of course, I home they allow Jim’s business venture to be a success.
I thought this was a much better episode than last week’s. Well, except for Andy’s complete blind ignorance and naivety. That didn’t sit well with me, especially the meeting he called for everyone to compliment Erin. Stupider than even Michael, and I don’t normally think of Andy in those terms.
I really liked last week’s premiere, it gave me a lot of optimism. And I just HATED this episode. The Jim/Pam/Roy stuff was actually pretty good, but the Dwight/Nelly and Erin/Andy/Perv plots were the absolutely worst kind of nonsensical and implausible sitcom stupidity, without the added benefit of being funny.
Sometimes I think I should stop watching after the opening. It’s usually the funniest part of the show for me. Loved the rat scampering among the trash and the tiny wheel (with chores).
I was expecting a raccoon or opossum, but a rat was nice. I missed the last half of it putting the Boy to bed, so I have to go back and watch it as well as Parks and Rec online.
Oh I forgot to mention - Erin was stunning in that “news anchor” dress. Yowza.
Mm. Yes.
I thought Andy knew exactly what was up and for that reason showed up with Erin and then sent her for coffee.
Overall though a meh episode. I wonder if the are going to stumble towards the final episode. Looks that way.
No, it was new Jim who knew what was up. That is why he said she needed a co-host knowing Andy would jump at that and go with her. Andy was clueless the entire time.
I forget…was Roy not a nice guy before? I don’t remember him being a dick, just not being as good a fit with Pam as Jim was.
In the early seasons Roy clearly took Pam for granted and it was strongly implied he cheated on her. He was also kind of a douchey drunk asshole.
he trashed that bar once. mostly he was an uncaring jerk who took Pam for granted.
On Roy and Pam’s first date, he took her to a hockey game (with his brother), and she was in the bathroom when it ended, and they left without her.
