Some good, some bad. In all, it seems like either one of these stories would have been a complete episode on its own with a bit more meat on its bones.
I agree with the first one…I don’t agree with the second one. I think it was his excuse to get out of there quickly and break the tension. But I could be wearing blinders, I’d be very disappointed it were true.
And poor Jim, every time he makes a “smart” business decision it turns out to be a disaster.
Every time Jim tries a “good idea,” like the consolidated birthdays, or working late instead of Saturday, it backfires. Also, he didn’t tip the security guard, and didn’t tell him not to come when they were liberated. +3 jerk points for him.
Interestingly, Creed knew the security guard’s name, and was also clearly the “sexual predator” on the Dunder Mifflin Infinty site. I love Creed.
Poor Toby. Major fail there.
Dwight seems to think NY is a mythical land with hobbits and Amazons. And he totally bagged an Amazon. Imagine, he was the most successful with the ladies that night too.
Phyllis thinks Andy and Angela are a better couple than Jim and Pam. Ha.
Michael thinks being a bank teller is a good thing to tell women in a club. Will he hook up by the end of this season?
Wait – did they actually tip us off that Creed was the sexual predator? What did I miss? (Whether they said it or you’re just guessing, it’s brilliant!)
This is the second time that Jim has had a legitimately good idea that he tried to implement behind Michael’s back, and it blew up in his face. Last time it was because his coworkers are crazy, this time it was his own fault. Makes you, or at least Jim (and Pam this time) a bit more sympathetic to Michael.
It’s not really all that clear, I was being flip. Everyone in the meeting was talking about how the site was down, the police got involved due to the sexual predator. They were all like, “Why do we need social networking at all?” And Creed pipes up with, “I don’t get the big fuss. I like the site…” And then he looks around all shifty-like.
I took that as guilt. I mean, it’s Creed. Of course he would put the social networking feature to use, while lounging on his 3 office chairs at 2am.
Also, Ryan is cooking the books by having them enter sales as if they were made by the website when they were really made by the salesmen, right?
I took it to imply that he’s blowing a lot of his money trying to play the pimp, with the clothes, the $200 haircuts and the clubbing (and the blow), and that he’s compensating for the rest of his flashy lifestyle by living in a tiny apartment.
I ike the way that Jim always subtly begins to turn into Michael when he’s in charge of the office. His ideas blow up in his face, he doesn’t like Toby and tonight he even had some awkward, politically incorrect moments.
He’s cooking DM Infinity’s books, anyway. Trying to save his baby before “Infinity 2.0” turns into a brochure-ware site that gives you contact info for your local salesperson.
Ryan’s issue is going to be difficult to handle so that it comes out to be funny. Most of the tragic stuff on this show has a certain silliness to it, even something like being hit was a car was made silly by it being Michael who did it (and of course, her eventually being found to have rabies).
