I loved Creed’s comment about watching the debate. So weird and fits him perfectly, but not in a we-must-make-him-more-insane-every-week-to-get-laughs way. Also loved Kelly talking about how smart she is now. Quite an enjoyable episode.
I actually preferred Jim dancing, in the background, after Pam gets him out of the chair. I think every time that Jim has had to dance informally in the series, he’s always done that sort of weird bouncing-on-the-spot thing with his arms flat against his sides. He’s such a little boy, getting by on humor, irony, sarcasm, etc.
I felt sorry for Michael in this episode. Yeah, he should not have hired his own nephew, the nephew was a horrible worker who deserved to be fired, but Michael’s sister was emotional blackmailing him.
I doubt this is how they’re going to write Michael out of the show, as I expect Steve Carell to stay through the rest of the season, and I don’t see them dragging this storyline out that long.
You must visit the same web site I do. There are a few people that are rumored to be the new boss, including some in the main cast.
So true! That woman is everywhere.
So apparently there are a lot of ‘Lip Dub’ videos on YouTube these days, with offices and schools. That’s what they were going for. I would look up an example on YouTube, but I’ll take the staff’s word for it.
The opening number was better than I expected, mostly because I expected it to make me angry and/or want to retch, but Drew Carey used to do it way better.
By the way, one of the packages that Luke failed to send out was one containing the pants that Michael wanted to return to the retailer, which was said to be Talbots. Was that a mistake on the part of the writer, or meant to be a character quirk, that he’d buy clothes from a womens retailer?
I don’t remember any near breakups between Pam and Jim. They’re relationship is pretty smooth which is why I hope that it’s no longer part of the plot. That story has been told.
Yeah. There was the time where she failed a class and didn’t know if she would stay in NY to take it again. Then there was the time where Jim talked to Pam’s father which lead him to break it off with her mom when her parents were going through a rough patch. But not really any near breakups.
I do know what Justin_Bailey’s saying though, and I hope they don’t throw in a bunch of “near firings” before he leaves either. Even with all the spoilers I’ve read over the years, I still find most episodes offer some things that are new that I wasn’t aware of. So I hope this season isn’t full of Michael ‘almost getting terminated’ or ‘will this be what ends Michael Scott’s employment at Dunder Mifflin Sabre?’ story lines. I personally hope he takes a salesman job at the Nashua branch that Holly works at, and doesn’t get fired.
By the way, I liked this episode… didn’t express that in earlier posts. I was expecting more out of a season opener. But the last few years, the big storylines often came after the first episode of the season. Last years season final was satisfying (to me), but no big cliffhangers.
