The official election day 2012 thread: 11/6/12

Fuck FOX, they are trying to start a race war.

Hawaii, which never changes its clocks, is now five hours behind EST and two hours behind California. It’s just after 5:30pm Tuesday afternoon there at this moment.

The time I worked the election there as a polling official, it fell to me to call central voting headquarters and tell them the last voter at my station had voted and to come pick up the ballot box. The guy on the other end of the line said: “Okay. Ya wanna know who won?”

Not when one of the candidates is from your home state.

Add California into the mix…

I love BBC’s graphics for the states!

Always does. Early votes counted are the pre-Election day votes, usually quite Democratic. Then the rural Republican counties chime in, along with precincts from the suburbs and exurbs of Toledo, Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. Finally, the central city precincts chime in and the Democratic vote gets bigger in comparison.

The question yet to be decided is: did the rural and exurb areas go Republican enough for Romney? I’m predicting no, based on the margin.

I’m going with some random guy on the Internet. FL is the knee to the yarbles of the Romney campaign. Better luck in '16, kids.

Florida now Obama up by 21,700 with 88% counted

Math is hard!

Win or lose I said I’d be here so… Congrats guys. To the victor go the spoils. Clearly, I was wrong. I just really don’t know what else to say at the moment. I’m just so disappointed in America right now.

Actually, I salute Mourdock and Akin for their candor. It is good they let the voters know exactly where they stood on these issues so the voters could make an informed choice. Keep it up, guys!

Cuyahoga county is only 30% in at this point. I’m still liking Obama’s chances.

Good on you, sir!

I hardly ever watch Fox. Who’s the guy with the painted on Ken doll hair??

Tim Kaine moves in the lead over George Allen in VA!

I’m not seeing any guarantees here on my electoral map. The tossup states are recount ready.

Which decisive states has Obama won yet? I don’t see any. You’re counting out Romney too early.

I would really like to see Obama take FL and OH. Just because.

Why are all the red counties full counted and the blue counties not counted yet? Do the red counties actually bother counting votes or do they just assume everyone voted for Mittens?

Much smaller population counties. Easier to count fast.
