The official election day 2012 thread: 11/6/12

Specifics?

It’s never too early to count out Romney.

It’s generally a question of population density.

In equally amazing news, it’s a day that ends with the letter Y.

Sure, but it’s still a cool thing to go out to the local polls and cast your vote. So American. We took our kids and they were fascinated. Poll workers were totally cool too and gave them “I voted” stickers

ETA: It’s not over til the fat lady sings. And yes, I’ve been drinking

Delaware-State of residence
PA- State of birth

In Megan Kelly’s defense, Rove was spewing numbers like crap out of a Celiac who ate a pizza.

Romney gets MO according to MSNBC…

In general, they are rural counties with smaller populations, and with precincts that have smaller numbers of people. They don’t have much of anyone in line when the polls close, they get their vote tallys done quickly, and sent to the state’s election headquarters right away.

Urban counties often have precincts with much larger populations to vote. Often, there are lines at the time the polls close, and they have to let all those people vote. That delays the report from those precincts. Then, there are more machines to pull the information from, more provisional ballots that have to be properly handled and stored for later counting, etc. Urban votes have ALWAYS been slow to be counted.

Obama is going to take FL (unbelievable) and OH is a longshot right now. We all know it’s over. So as I said before, I’d be here win or lose. No way to spin it. A loss is a loss and I was wrong. But life goes on.

What is it with Missouri? Seriously, how has it become so Republican at the Presidential level?

Yeah, that thread is like two months old!

voter turn out in hi is very low. one of the reasons is the hours behind. cnn did a really good article on hawai’i and voting.

Why was I thinking New Jersey? Ah well, no matter. They bagged Delaware and Pennsylvania both.

BBC is calling Arizona for Romney. Big surprise.

Fox News just paid for a promoted comment on my Twitter feed. “@FoxNews: Obama adviser predicts “they’ll be counting until 2 a.m.” in #Florida. #election2012 http://fxn.ws/VB2lRN”. Wow, can’t say I understand that.

Just want to throw my thanks out to you political junkies keeping this thread boiling.

Way more succinct and entertaining than any major media outlet.

Angus King

Coolest name of any candidate.

Florida at 90% votes counted

Obama + 35,000

Sounds like a hamburger.

Barring changes in the recount, it looks like Florida and Ohio both go Obama…

Romney needs more than 52% of the (estimated) remaining vote in each to win
