I’m rather fond of “Albert Gore, Jr.,” our Senate challenger in Mississippi.
We’re three recounts, six appellate courts and $100,000,000 in legal fees from a decision in Florida.
Weeeeeeel, the Illinois 8th has been [del]gerrymandered[/del] rearranged so much in Tammy’s favor that I wasn’t entirely sure I was in it until I got my ballot, but it was the second time I voted for her in the second district she was in, with neither of us moving.
Did I just hear Anderson Cooper say “California up for grabs?”
Since when? We wouldn’t go for Romney if meant snow.
The MS-NBC folk have been calling it for Obama for half an hour. Romney has pulled very close – within 16,000 – as one final northern Republican county finally posted their results. The remaining uncounted votes are going to be strongly for Obama and he should pull away.
89% presently reporting.
George Allen giving concession speech in Virginia
It’s not going to matter- Obama will be over 270 EVs without FL, so I doubt there will be much fight in a recount.
Thanks for the explanations regarding counting in red and blue counties.
Warren is giving her victory speech. Oh my heart doth flutter.
Boo-yah!
I don’t particularly like her and I worked for her! She accurately reflects her state, which is a lot more conservative then I am. But unlike the Republican primary voters in Indiana, I prefer someone who will represent my state well and vote my way on important things to someone with a better level of doctrinal purity.
That was expected.
They split tickets there all the time. Claire McCaskell is a VERY conservative Democrat - the 50th most liberal Senator. Most of my clients in Missouri are Republican, and she’s well liked by them. Remember that Missouri has a Democrat Governor in Jay Nixon.
Tim Kaine! Yeah!
So, just turned on the local Fox station (I don’t have cable) and they are using the FoxNews pundits… wow, they aren’t even making sense? Has someone piped CO2 into their studio? They seem lost and rambling about how it was supposed to be and then they promoted as an ‘excuse’ the fact that there were issues on the ballot that caused voters to come out and vote. OMG, voters are voting!
Oh and now Warren’s acceptance speech! - I’m glad she won.
local tv and radio stations are so booked up with political ads that my friend who owns a printing company made more money this year than the least 3 years combined.
Don’t be too disappointed, liberals were pretty disappointed by both candidates.
And THATS why Republicans lie
Best campaign slogan: In Wyoming, Democratic challenger Tim Chesnut is a long shot; his actual slogan is** “Chesnut is the best nut for Senate.” **
So, so far that’s D+3 in the Senate. No way McTurtle is getting the gavel.
Population loss in St. Louis and especially Kansas City (hell, population loss in the state as a whole). It’s just a less urban state now.
Yes! Virginia shows sanity!
Don’t forget that if the Presidential candidates are within .5% of each other, that triggers an automatic recount. We really want that lead to be over 50,000 as to not trigger this.
Colorado has the same % requirement, btw.
If it’s clear that there is no point (ie if a Florida win would not put Romney over the top anyway), then we won’t see anything like this.
Grumbling and threatening maybe.
So, with the spanking the Republicans are getting, are they going to learn their lesson and become somewhat more tractable? That fillibustering everything didn’t work?
Ouch. Looks like I went 1-3 on the major races on my ballot. Romney, a Dem challenger for the House, and a Dem-backed candidate for our Supreme Court all appear to have lost. Only winner I picked was the incumbent GOP Senator. The only other race on the local ballot was a guy running unopposed for Election Commissioner. I wrote myself in rather than vote for him, just to be cantankerous.
