I may not have grown up sufficiently, but I have definitely grown old enough to qualify as an adult. Or where you questioning my singularity? Trust me, it’s a path we don’t want to wander down. But I will be there by my ownself.
Date and Time: June 14, 2003, starting roughly at noon and going until whenever
Place: Casa Dave-Guy. Please let me know if you need directions, and from whence you are coming. I am easily accessible from the NYThruway, the Palisades Interstate Parkway, the NJTurnpike, the Garden State Parkway, and the buses from PABT and the GWBridge.
Cost per Adult: Five bucks.
If you have folding chairs or lawn chairs, you might want to bring them. Also, maybe another grill. I’ll supply the charcoal.

I’m making assumptions here on the brunch, one being that some of the out-of-towners will be staying overnight anyway, and might as well pop in for bagels and coffee before cruising home. Also, a couple folks are pretty darn local anyway, and might not mind driving 30 or 40 minutes for a free breakfast. All are welcome.
Chances are, we won’t be able to make the brunch the next morning, because we’ll have to be in Cherry Hill for his birthday celebration. I’m still not certain on the timing for our Sunday commitments though, so keep us in mind for maybes.
Where did this brunch thing come from? Did I miss it somewhere down the line?
Beats me. It is far off and we’ve been pretty busy, so we haven’t discussed our plans. I wouldn’t count on it though.
I posted April 2 that we were thinking of hosting a brunch for the overnighters. Nobody has to drive more than five hours, so even if they left at noon, they’d be home before dark, and they’d be well-fed prior to leaving, to boot.
I will be there unless I am still unemployed. I will need directions, and I will need a hotel.
I will also need a 6’ tall redhead, with green eyes and a miniskirt.
Spit, meet Fred. Fred is actually 6’1", but he’s redheaded, has green eyes, and he shaved his legs especially for the occasion.
I’ll put you on the list of “Definite Maybes”.
**Spit, ** I’m not 6’, and I don’t have a miniskirt, but I’ve got red hair & green eyes. Maybe you could barter with **Euty. ** I know there’s a few DVD’s he’s interested in.
I’m TOAST tomorrow…
NONONONONONONONONONONONONO!
I’ve got first crack at ya!
It’s MY HOUSE!!
[sub]I get first crack at her.[/sub]
Sunday brunch? Great idea, Dave! Count me/us in!
[sub]Still don’t know if the spousal unit’s gonna come with. But she’s not exactly Ms. Hit-the-road-at-the-crack-of-dawn, so if she makes the trip, she’ll be up for brunch. [/sub]
Persephone you’re such a troublemaker!
[sub]Quick! Sneak out the back door!![/sub]
Hey RT- If the wife doesn’t go, do you want to carpool?
Sure, Spit - that would be great!
I should know, one way or the other, by the end of May.
TruePisces, what time is the birthday celebration? I mean, it can be stalled until noon or shortly after, and you two could pop in for coffee and a bagel, no?
RTFirefly, I’m glad you’ll be attending the brunch.
And for those who need overnight accommodations, I’ll try to provide a link to Day’s Inn. There’s also a Comfort Inn, which is also close and convenient (and which is where I thought Euty was staying). I’ll try to dig up something on that, too.
For anyone who needs to overnight, there is a Days Inn and a Comfort Inn mere minutes from Casa Dave-Guy, in the scenic town of Nanuet (motto: “We got a big-ass mall”).
Both are easy to get to from my place, and easy to find my place from. Also close to major roadways so you won’t relive any scenes from Deliverance trying to find the Thruway.
This has been a Public Service Announcement by the Philanthropic Council to Make Things Nicer[sup]TM[/sup].

Having met Cosmopolitan at the NYFest in January, I can attest that she’s a dish.

blush Gee, thanks, Zappo!
…Wanna gimme a ride to Dave’s?
Hey Dave, me too, me too. I wanna come!
RT and Spit count me in on the carpool concept. I can fit 6-7 in my van. Will that entice more MADs to join the fun?
Dave, your count is really getting up there - you sure that Casa Dave-Guy is not gonna 'splode? If the house is still standing in the morning, I’ll be there for brunch, too.
As to what I’ll bring, can I wait to see what you still need?
Gorgon, why do you hate me so much lately? sob
Okay, okay … you guys want to stop fighting over Persephone for a bit.
That is, at least until I can post a wish list at Amazon.com.
