We did in theory have a wifi connection in the field full o’ buttercups, I just couldn’t get on it for some reason. We also had sofas, though unfortunately the motorised chaise longue that’s been there in previous years couldn’t make it…
Is wet here, if anyone wants to swap some weather? I’m trying to do gardening stuff (rotten slugs et one of my squash plants while I was away, and the grass really needs cutting), and the soles of my shoes are leaky, so I’d really like it not to be.
Yesterday I opened the last package of TP in the house, of course it is a 48-roll package. Can I remain calm or do I need to panic as there’s no unopened packages in the house? Do I need to leave work early to pick some more up or can it wait until next regular shopping this weekend?

I believe Teh Swampbear’s answer will be you needed to panic the moment you opened the 48 roll package.
I, on the other hand, will say that the proper engineering answer is to do a time and motion study on your tookus wipeage in order to project usage rates. The optimal reserve amount to have on hand is two rolls at the time of your next provisioning excursion.
You must immediately stop what you are doing and go re-supply. You should buy at least two 48 roll packs. In the future when you open the next to last pack, you should go out and buy more. There should always be, at a minimum, one unopened 48 pack of tp at all times. Remember one is preparing for the Apocalypse. Plus, have we learned nothing from Venezuela? :dubious:
Nuts it’s best not to leave one’s Sri Lankan spiders unattended. Left on their own they may venture out to eat the neighborhood childrens which may or may not be a bad thing but some parents tend to get upset when their kidlets get et up.

We have several amusement park trips planned; several to Knoebels and usual places and some to get to new places. We’re doing at least one short week in Canadadada and another through New England and ending at Sylvan Beach in NY – which has the reputation of being the most haunted park in America. Which also means we can’t figure out why we’ve missed it until now.
I have several solo motorcycle trips planned; mostly for charity runs. I did the Fallen Soldiers run in Erie this weekend and have my room booked for the “Support Your Local Cathouse” animal shelter run. There is also a couple out Indiana but I haven’t booked rooms yet. I would like to get at least 10k on the Road Kow showing her glory to the universe so keep your eyes open around rest stops as you travel.
June is going to be bad enough that I may be a bit of a stranger here but I will continue to offer hugs and high fives as appropriate.
I had to spend a lot of time washing clothes, more time than I intended, so I didn’t get a whole lot done today. My sister had a possible job offer, but it didn’t work. And now I find out that one of my friends is moving away forever to the country! I don’t know if I’ll ever see him again. And I was hoping that I would see him again sometime… I kind of wanted to confront him (if “confront” is a nice enough word?) and tell him that I was hurt that he spread that rumour several years ago that I was autistic, a rumour I only found out about recently…

Today is my last day on land. I’m heading out to the boat tonight! It’s a 10 hour very bumpy crewboat ride so I’m going to take lots of benadryl and dramamine and hopefully sleep through it tonight… or at least nap through it

As for the references problem, I decided to wheedle several people I work with/for on my volunteer gig. All three I approached were willing, but none really want me to leave there. I don’t want to leave, either, but necessity compels.
As for start/end dates on prior jobs, most through temp agencies, I’m taking best guesses.

Yeah, yeah…knew it was coming, but I even I am surprised at how pissed off I am over this. One of the women who works in my division burst into tears. She is a single mother.
I think what really sent me off into stratosphere of real anger was hearing of those who had finagled exemptions. Pisses me right off. They’re all fat and happy with staff; I’m one fucking deep and buried. The fact there was BRAND FUCKING NEW CARPETING in the conference room did not help. I also read of yet another government agency somehow managing to not have to furlough their employees. Yet, DoD cannot find the money for their employees. We can find millions for unneeded and unwanted weapons, but not for our employees. :dubious:

Sorry about that…I’ve just been sitting here in my office since this morning and the steam has been building. I guess I had to turn the valve a little and release some of it.
